Is this not the law in the US?
Each presidential candidate promises the earth
One becomes president. They then try and do what they promised.
The senate or congress stop them. The bluff and bluster, compromise and
a slight vague change occurs, the president then looks for something to leave
to posterity, a meeting with Israel, peace in our time, righting some injustice
and then leaves.
The next decades people say how terrible they are, and then finally, they
did that great one sentence ...........
So why do you guys get so het up about it. They are just going to muck it
up just like the previous ........ times
I think deep down you just want someone to blame....

Richard Nixon
Geral Ford
Jimmy Carter
Ronald Reagan
George H Bush
Bill Clinton
George W Bush
Barack Obama
Out of all the above sending a man to the moon with JFK is the most memorable
to me. Reagan and the end of the cold war, stunning. The rest seems minor or bad.
It is just an impression from the UK, hope you do not mind....
