"I have hidden thy Word in my heart that I may not sin against thee." Psalms 119:11.

These are for me, and shpadoinkle since you have your 5 bibles on the shelf and you haven't memorized any yet: (Galatians 5:6-9):

"Here's the thing: In Jesus whether you are circumcised or not makes no difference. What makes a difference is faith energized by love. Who has impeded your progress and kept you from obeying the truth? You were off to such a good start. I know for certain the pressure isn't coming from God. He keeps calling you to the truth. You know what they say, "Just a little yeast causes all the dough to rise," so even the slightest detour from the truth will take you to a destination you do not desire."

Not on the shelf. On the nightstand, the desk, by my couch, in my truck, and in the study. They are where I can get to them and I read at least an hour every day. I just don't see the point in memorizing scripture except to play the "I'm a better Christian than you are because I memorize scripture" game. Seems a silly use of time. Lots of people have passages memorized, but since there are tens of thousands of Christian denominations, that tells me very few people actually understand what they are reading.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

Or, by way of Scripture those who have humbled themselves to the Spirit's insights have indeed gained them to themselves by way of God Himself. so when you look at all the different denominations and yet see honest true believer's you see the glory of God working in a relationship despite creed right?. Do you start reading, then end two-hours later beginning in with praise and ending in thanksgiving? Or assumptive discontent? Are you at peace entering the reading, or searching for peace in the Word's outside of the Spirit's guise? Ultimately you have asserted your involvement in godly activity but have we asked if you "Believe and receive God," within your soul by way of revelation of self awareness, and conclusion? Memorizing has affect for God's Word tells us so. Nothing of His Word goes out of our mouth without affect by God for His purposes. How would you rank your faith right now in God? 1-10; ten being perfect; 1 being not so good? What would you say I could pray for you about, this second on this day? What is your heart resting on? Placed on? Hoped for? Let's say everything you say is absolutely accurate; now what? What do you hope for that is beyond your ability to get and see currently? There is where we can start to talk......

Don't know about everyone else in the West, but I don't have one single bit of scripture memorized. I don't consider Christianity to be a contest, and in the hereafter, my lack of rote memorization of verses isn't going to matter. I'm not impressed by people that memorize scripture, and that's the only reason I can see that people want to do it.
It is important to note that we have the choice whether or not to accept the Holy Spirit's guidance. When we know the will of God but do not follow it, we are resisting the Spirit's work in our lives (Acts 7:51; 1 Thess. 5:19), and a desire to follow our own way grieves Him (Eph. 4:30). The Spirit will never lead us into sin. Habitual sin will cause us to miss what the Holy Spirit wants to say to us thru the Word. Thus, being in-tune with God's will, turning from and confessing sin, and making a habit of prayer and the study of God's Word as a priority will allow us to recognize -- and follow--the Spirit's leading.

My Verses: "It's time to stop bringing grief to God's Holy Spirit; you have been sealed with the Spirit, marked as His own for the day of rescue. Banish bitterness, rage and anger, shouting and slander, and any and all malicious thoughts - these are poison." (Ephesians 4:30-31).

2 Corinthians 4:4

In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image if God, should shine unto them.
Amen

I love you

.,.,.,.,.,what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. Luke 6:31-33
It would be nice if you had posted Luke 6:31-33

Then you and I would be on the same sheet of music
Do I look it up or do I just agree, as friends generally do
or so it seems :)-

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col 1:13-14)

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Yeah, I've been struggling alot lately and I've been having a hard time with my faith. It's been pretty difficult to get myself to be on CC. But hopefully I'm getting better.
How have you been? :)

1 Samuel 12:

20 “Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.
21 Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.
22 For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own.
23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.
24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
25 Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will perish.”

[h=1]1 John 4:18New King James Version (NKJV)[/h]18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
