But you know what? If your going to lose weight don't do it alone do with God. Make it a project for you two and do it for the right reasons as well not simply for looks or for insecurity but do it because of your health. I don't care if someone is overweight if I wanted them to lose weight it would only be because of the many health issues that come with being overweight

I would be so interested in losing weight, I have to take medications that automatically make my weight gain far worse than it would be. Sadly I'm not sure I come on here often enough to do so :/
Maybe you could drop by every other week or so. You could still gain encouragement from us.
I presume you may be on some kind of beta blocker or something to calm you down/makes you tired?
Just a thought but it may be worth asking your doctor about counselling or talking therapy. I'm not sure
what the set up is like where you are but alternative therapies like this are available in the UK.

Incidentally for years one of my cousins struggled with agrophobia and anxiety, he is not a Christian but one day
he blurted out he had a dream in which he was in a room with no furniture and a large snake was circling
round and round the edges of the room.

I didn't say anything to him at the time as he would not have understood what I was talking about, but
he was being shown (or rather i was), the true nature of his difficulty that it was satanic. After that i started
to pray for him differently.

It took a while but now he is fully able to go anywhere he likes both walking, cars or on buses. He
still has certain problems with anxiety but it was a real eye opener for me how Satan can trap a person
in their mind and hold them like that.

Well I can easily get lots of info and tips on health and stuff like what to avoid most or tips on how to do certain stuff. losing weight and being healthy isn't an exact science but there are many many methods that work for ppl. And of course you know me I love to encourage others;)

if you pray everyday, in line with yahweh's (GOD'S) will, trusting and relying on HIM, and doing what he leads you to do (ALL the time),



he will direct your steps, and your circumstances, and your diet, and your activity, ALL PERFECTLY.

and he gets rid of those snakes too ! (obviously) (but they might try to keep attacking/coming back) so have to KEEP PRAYING ALL THE TIME. (yahweh shows you how -- and think about it; having union with the creator, like JESUS be as one (like JESUS says in HIS WORD) -- how WONDERFUL that the CREATOR willingly dwells with men in JESUS.... remember WHO HE IS, and it is kind of 'natural' to want to spend all the day and all the night with HIM, at JESUS FEET (and while doing the dishes and the diapers and the lawn and the job and all the activities - continue in HIS PRESENCE as HE DELIGHTS) ....


also , avoid soy, msg, sugar, flour, milk, tap water, salt (look up "3 white poisons" or "5 white poisons") ...
because the 'fat' in america is on purpose, btw,

and IF TO GAIN WEIGHT, and IF TO LOSE WEIGHT ---- this helps both naturally >>>> acv, organic, unfiltered, a few teaspoonfuls daily TAKEN DILUTED in water or other drink.
this also helps 95% of other ailments, but no regular professional will say so. still, there's lots of proof, just look.

seek and keep on seeking and ye shall find is a PROMISE OF YAHWEH, not of man....... (all /most of the "good stuff" we need to know and used to know long ago has been covered up by man; man is so evil)

TRUST GOD; HE DOES A BODY GOOD. (and accepts us right where we are, no matter if our body does or can change or not)


p.s. edit: average weight loss is 1/2 lb per day(last 200 years published statistics) that's IF the body needs to lose weight. IF the body is underweight, lbs may usually be added on (by good diet/acv).

It's mostly abilify if I remember correctly. I have OCD and anxiety, and the abilify helps to curb it so I can handle it. Sadly one of the side effects is weight gain. >_<;
Artsie long time no see! Good to see you ,I wondered if you were on some kind of medication for anxiety due to you mentioning the problems with your meds I take abilify too and I have teh same problems with weight with Abilify. But just to encourage you in 2013 I was 10 kgs lighter I had lost weight whilst being on abilify which is 22 llbs

If Im honest I may be a sensitive person but im also a caring person from what I've read I would say two important things need to be upheld in this group for it to run smoothly

*If people say they cant gain weight from anxiety or other mental health problems please dont automatically start talking about demons / Satan etc - they might not feel comfortable with you talking about that it May be true but please treat that subject with alot of sensitivity and care , do you know how they feel about the subject? Do you know if they want you to talk about the subject. Im for deliverence/healing and prayer but be so sensitive to that subject with Christians who have mental health illnesses you can insult and turn people off easily . If you dont believe me you ask God about it - dont be ignorant be a friend instead

* Its fun to joke I have a sense of humour myself and am know for it but its not a good idea nor is it ok if you have lost weight or dont struggle with the issue to either joke about others who are over weight or obese.
As MIRI talked about ENCOURAGEMENT did it occur to you can hurt others feeling by making fun of overweight people ? Did it occur to you some people really struggle with losing weight due to stress, lifestyle, jobs etc? Im all in for myself being apart of this but I believe those of us who are apart of this group ask that if you are to comment that you dont and stop making fun of us . To be an understanding person is to watch what you say and put yourself in other peoples shoes. Frankly this group doesnt have time for people to tease them thats selfish and immature you can go somewhere else , why waste our time.

Miri I think its a great idea and getting peoples past experiences and advice would be neat I.e some of us may have lost weight had some success yay! like I have and as a woman (women like talking haha lol) the more I talk about with you's the more im pumped to get into it .

Why avoid tap water out of interest? Not sure what acv is?

Unfortunately I cannot avoid milk, it is like medication for me.

10 years ago I developed an over active thyroid issued called Graves' disease. It took 3.5 years of
Ever changing meds and swinging back and fourth between under and over active (with the associated
weight gains and losses) and 6 weekly hosp checks until it was cured.

During that time the doctors wanted to give me radio-iodine treatment which basically means you take a
radioactive tablet to deliberately damage your thyroid gland to shut it down and stop it from being
overactive. This can however make you permently under active.

i refused despite their insistence and was so glad I did. I didn't want to deliberately damage my body with
radiation. It was too drastic is for me they basically hand you a radioactive tablet in a special lead container
to avoid the staff from being irradiated. Then for the first week you had to shut yourself away and
could not be in the same room as another person for more than a few minutes at a time in case
their thyroid gland is irradiated by you! Then after that for the next couple of weeks you cannot
sit directly next to another person due to the continuing radiation your body emits - sounds fun!
Anyway as I say, I decided to reject the day glow treatment.

I am now cured of the original graves treatment, but a side issue which very quickly became
apparent in the early stages of the disease is that my para thyroid gland was affected and since
then I have had hypoparathyroidism.

The parathyroid gland produces hormones which control your blood calcium levels. They never tell you
that do they, only that you need calcium for strong bones etc. This has a knock on effect in that if your
blood calcium levels are not correct, it throws everything else out, your phosphorus levels, magnesium etc.

So I have to take very high doses of Vit D and calcium tablets every day and also make sure I get a lot of calcium in my
diet. If my calcium levels drop down for even just a day or two I start to get bad cramps and aching limbs,
pins and needles in my fingers and toes. After that it just goes further downhill. But something as simple
as having a few extra large glasses of milk takes away all the symptoms!


Exercise also increases the bodies calcium requirement level so the more exercise I do, the more
calcium I have to take.

I did think of buying a cow and tying it up in the back garden, I don't thing the neighbours would approve, though
milk on tap has a certain appeal!:)

Anyway that aside it is possible for me to lose weight as long as I take the calcium requirements
into consideration.

Phew isnt the the body complicated.

I cant remember the websites names but I know theres a least one - you know like post it in our threads or signatures ? Id fine that real encouraging if I had lost any weight and others too to show it .

Moreso, to glorify God. Our bodies are our temples for the Lord. We will not die until He has finished the work He chooses for us on earth, so long as we are followers of him. Beyond that, we are merely spirits clothed in flesh.

jsut found out 'tickerfactory.com' is the website where I 'think' you can get weight loss trackers and cut and paste in diff websites pretty cool idea

Ok so I did some research I wanted to find out what foods would be best but then I remembered a fact a learned a while back how eating a lot of lettuce expands your stomach making you able to eat more then I thought what if there is food that can actually burn belly fat?
I found some results but I need to do more research to make sure its scientifically proven



Oatmeal

Your morning snack attack is caused by a dip in blood sugar levels. Fiber-rich oatmeal stays in your stomach for hours, staving off a doughnut run.

Watch out: Steer clear of the sugary flavored varieties. Choose the plain stuff, and sweeten it with berries.



Almonds and Other Nuts

Go nuts! They slim your tummy by keeping it full. A Purdue University study showed that people who ate nuts felt full longer than those who ate rice cakes. Stick to 24 almonds a day to satisfy your hunger pangs without overloading on calories.

Watch out: Skip salted nuts; too much sodium raises blood pressure.




Protein Powder

It's not just for gym rats! Protein powder contains amino acids that burn fat and build muscle. Add two teaspoons to a smoothie for a fat-busting drink. Find it at health food stores.

Watch out: Make that smoothie with fruit, yogurt, and low-fat milk — adding protein powder to a chocolate shake doesn't make it health food (we wish).




Olive Oil

Everyone needs a little fat — it controls hunger. Go for monounsaturated fats like olive or canola oil. They will help keep your cholesterol under control and satisfy cravings.

Watch out: Steer clear of hydrogenated vegetable oils;




Berries

Berries stuff a lot of filling fiber into a tiny package: Just one cup of raspberries has six grams.

Eggs

Watch out: Refried beans are high in saturated fat. Choose plain black, pinto, or other varieties instead




Lean Meats and Fish

Your body burns more calories digesting protein than carbs or fat. Want the leanest meat out there? Opt for turkey, but to cut down even more on saturated fat, choose fish. Go for tuna and salmon; they are full of omega-3s, which help prevent stress chemicals that promote fat abs.

Watch out: Cured meats and sausage have a lot of saturated fat.

Hi folks

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a weight loss group, assuming I can work out
how to set it up on CC. It would be open to ladies and gents.

I have really neglected myself over the last couple of years due to the pressures of
life, working and caring for my elderly aunt. My own needs have been pushed out
of the way.

Anyway I have set myself a goal of losing 28 pounds which would take me to 140 pounds,
maybe a little more, but I will see how things go. I don't want to get too skinny as it doesn't suit me, besides
even when I was 120 pounds I didn't look skinny as I was born with Marilyn Munroe curves!
I'm not sure if that is good or bad, lol.

I was wondering if maybe others would be interested in losing weight, we could
encourage each other, prayer for each other, share healthy low fat recipes etc and
cheer each other on.

I want to do this in a healthy way, no fad diets etc. So maybe if you have any experience
in nutrition than you could join the group and help us all out a bit as well.

So, is anyone interested if I can work out how to set it up?

So I have to take very high doses of Vit D and calcium tablets every day and also make sure I get a lot of calcium in my
diet. If my calcium levels drop down for even just a day or two I start to get bad cramps and aching limbs,
pins and needles in my fingers and toes. After that it just goes further downhill. But something as simple
as having a few extra large glasses of milk takes away all the symptoms! )))))))))))) something unusual -- different than usual, is going on here, so test everything. usually cramps are from a mg deficiency, even if there's lots of ca available. some persons have eliminated cramps by stopping from taking any calcium at all (again TEST AND CHECK IT OUT) after taking 6 to 12 tablets daily for six months, and changing to taking one or two (only 1 or 2) magnesium(mg) daily. in a few days their "clinical calcium deficiency " disappeared - i.e. no calcium deficiency problems any more... extreme example>> during a heart attack, which occurs after months or years of mg deficiency, the ER doctors INJECT mg (not ca) into the heart...... just a tidbit to remember for later.... and comparison....
