Get through that movie, YIG, the ending brings it all together. It has a very powerful message and you'll see it will be worth it.
Ah... the big problem with many of us. We can't get far enough to see what is really there.

As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince said: "What is essential is invisible to the eye."

Yeah, but Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is entertaining...

Clockwork orange is just weird as well as pointless.

I'll try watching it again some day. It's really not uncommon for me to not understand a movie. I don't get most of them. They are generally too emotional, or there are too many nuances of human behavior that I don't understand to be able to follow the movie. That's why I stick to watching documentaries.

If your looking for a place to settle, there's none better than good ol Texas.. You can even pick from some different types of scenery. Got the variation on flatland an beautiful hills in west Texas.. Lots of forest in east Texas.. Or if your more the surfer type can settle down along the coast somewhere..
Yep.... and the economy is still good, thanks to conservative leadership. There is no state income tax, and we have either open, or concealed carry. Austin is the only sore spot.... but we keep them pretty contained.... :D

Like Ron White said.... "In Texas, we have something called the "death penalty"...... and we USE it. If you come here and kill somebody, we'll kill you right back!" ..... I always found that amusing...

But then a large number of americans
still believe slavery is a good thing, and a dead black man is one less problem
to solve.
WHAT????? That's just wrong. Absolutely.

There are a few, I'm sure, because there is always bigotry somewhere, but a "large number of Americans" ????

Absolutely not.

There are FAR more people in Europe that are racist bigots than are in the US.... look at the rise of the neo-Nazi party in Europe... it's very widespread... look at most of Africa.

Sorry to sound abrupt, but you are simply wrong on this...

I'm the wrong sort of character to live in Texas. I have a little too much frill on my panties for most Texans. I'm looking for more of the "get the heck away from me forever" type of location, so I'm looking at parts of the mountain west for that.

The point of that movie is that racism is a learned behavior and their prejudices can be overcome when you see things from other people's perspectives. Also when you have a younger person looking up to you and following your example then you are accountable when they follow your bad example
Thank you for spoiling the movie for me. Now I guess I don't need to watch it. Thanks, champ.

I just told you the general concept behind the movie. I didn't reveal any plot points
Still would have been nice for me to be able to watch it and maybe figure out the premise of the movie myself. No biggie though. Lots of other movies for me to figure out someday. I'll keep those quiet so you don't spoil those for me too.

Quit being nice to me. You'll make me blush. That would be bad.

Good point. I don't do well in heat. I am too white. Iowa is much too hot for me in summer. I prefer cold. I can bundle against the cold, but there is only so far I can strip down against heat before I go to jail or make someone sick.

Well.... just keep your panties covered up, and nobody will know! Or... you could always just go commando....

You'd probably fit in well....

Racist? I guess it's sort of racist. But considering all the crap that's put out about how black people are supposedly all victims and how bad the white Americans are to them, I think it only levels the balance slightly. So am I bothered? Not really. Facts are facts, and while I dont know if the email is 100% accurate, it does have some ground to it. I don't hate black people, but I sure as heck wish that majority of them would get off their lazy butts and join the working class.
My ex father in law was in the army and a black general came to him and wanted a full report of why 80% of the men in the military prison were black. After a month of looking it over he went back to the general and told him, they committed 80% of the crimes.

I wasn't raised to dislike them either but I can agree with most of that. And agree with you. White people can quit looking at them as lowlife, that only contributes to the overall problem between the races.

Wow! Not another single word needs to be added to that point-blank answer.

Montana, beautiful, remote and people move there to get away from people. My Niece and her family live there and love peace and the nature.
