I also think it's completely unfair for someone (not you, Willie, but the people behind this type of propaganda) to present a list of statistics like this without also including the exact same categories of stats for whites, Asians, Hispanics...

I'd be very interested in seeing how they all compare within the context of population, demographics, etc.

Assuming these are facts... I don't care enough to look tbh... can facts be racist? The tone of the email might be racist, the reason they're being used could be racist idk... But, facts are facts and stats are stats whether we like what they present to us or not.

I don't think it's racist to only put forth the data on one race. But I do think it would be interesting to see the data on others for comparison.

Sorry for the double post, but I ran out of time for the edit.

The opening post makes me think of FL, in which there is a Luxury Senior Retirement Wonderland called "The Villages." Our friends here who live there are certainly free to correct me, but at the time I knew people in that area, The Villages had a population of about 92,000 people--and almost all of them were retired, upper-middle to upper-class whites.

I had read several articles (and again, I don't know how factual they were) in which it was reported that "The Villages"... had the highest rate of STD's in the entire state of FL.

The statistics in the original post make me think--what if someone would have sent around a similar notice about the people in The Villages?

Would it have advocated, "If We Got Rid of All The Seniors in The Villages, the Rate of STD'S in Florida would go down !!! Percent"?

I think the stats, whether true or false, are irrelevant to the fact that the hypothetical premise is offensive to some of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
How far we have come from Dr. Martin Luther King's judge people by the content of their character not the color of their skin.

When we are in eternity with Jesus, the whole idea of race and racial strife is going to seem BEYOND absurd.
We love you Honeydew. Please don't leave. We need all our brothers and sisters!!

I'm always fighting that kind of ignorance tooth and nail.
I've always found it tricky, personally, defending myself against ignorance. Particularly when I see comments like this:

I don't hate black people, but I sure as heck wish that majority of them would get off their lazy butts and join the working class.

Or hear comments like

"why don't you guys... "
"i'm not racist, i have black friends"
"you people..."
"oh but you're different, you're not like those other...."

It's tricky for me because oftentimes racism and discrimination doesn't manifest itself as an overt conflict, but usually subtle little digs at race and color, with no regard to the content of my character. And while some folks are more comfortable thinking that race issues aren't prevalent today, I've sometimes wished that I had that peace of mind that must come with being ignorant.

The tone of the email is definitely off.
Are the statistics wrong? Who knows, let's fact check before we blow up and call everyone racist.

The ultimate issue here is an issue of culture and ideology. As this world gets further and further away from God, things are starting to heat up. The bible warns about ethnos vs ethnos and this whole BLM movement (the extremes shall we say, but the whole movement does need to distance itself decidedly from them) is just a symptom of the overarching issue of the lack of God in society and culture.

Regardless of what the statistics show, our necessity to show Christ to others and show them that God can fix all of these issues if we accept Him, and allow Him to change us is paramount now more than ever.

As much as I can see that the info as posted in the OP is slanted in a racist manner, I also cannot refute any of it. I don't necessarily share the views with the veiled intent of the OP message, but I don't disagree with any of it either.

Good. I think we have a consensus. It seems most people agree with me that it is racist rant. Well, the fact is that this was sent to us by a high school teacher who is probably more anti anything Democrat than anyone on this forum.

Knowing her, I would say the figures, though, are probably pretty close to accurate.

And the reason it only included one race is most likely because it was a reply to the Black-LM group, not the All-LM group.

But I do have some questions that this e-mail brought to my mind.

Discounting all the STD stuff... which I think is probably becoming rampant in most of our society, aren't a lot of these stats a lot of just what both sides say are true and accurate, and that they are both claiming they want to change? The housing, education, and unemployment and job pay, etc?

I have a ton more questions, but let's just work on that one for right now. (A lot of you know that is my approach to discussion. I don't like to fill a page full of thirty five or ninety questions before we get some basic foundations down solid first.

Oh trust me, she was veiling nothing. I have known her for years, and every breath she takes seems to be to deride Democrats. And she is pretty right when she sees The BLM as solidly Democrat.

Yes, somehow we leave all other races out and make it only between two races. Hey, at least African Americans can mark that they are African American on demographic documents. Us Hispanics have to say we are hispanic/Latino and mark white or Asian or something else along with it. I'm not trying to make a big deal about it. Just putting the facts out there

Black Lives Do Matter.......

I just got this in an e-mail. It is your decision to determine if this is racist rant or just a review of factual data.

Black Lives Do Matter

WHAT IF ALL THE BLACKS SUDDENLY LEFT AMERICA,
WHICH IS13.3% OF THE TOTAL U.S.POPULATION:

Amount of people in poverty would drop - 34%,

The prison population would go down by -37%,

Welfare recipients would go down by - - - 42%,

Gang members would go down by - - - - - 53%

Chlamydia cases would go down - - - - - - 54%,

Homelessness would go down - - - - - - - -57%

Syphilis would go down - - - - - - - - - - - - 58%.

AIDS & HIV would go down by - - - - - - - -65%,

Gonorrhea would go down - - - - - - - - - - -69%,

Average ACT scores would go UP - - - - - - - - - - - 5.5 points.

Average IQ would go UP - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -7.4 points,
putting us 3rd in the world tied with Japan,

Average SAT scores would go UP almost - - - - -100 points,

The average income for Americans would go UP over$20,000 a year,

BUT

DEMOCRATS WOULD LOSE 76% OF THEIR VOTING BASE!!!

And, many criminal defense attorneys would have to find another line of work!

Yes, Black lives DO matter!

If 13 % of the population (blacks) left the U.S. how could the Democrats lose 76% of their voting base? I don't need to do much more fact checking when this fact is an obvious lie.

I maybe think she was referring to the imbalanced system of the electoral college we use in this country. It is hard to tell how some people get elected when the popular (by true population) vote would go another way.

I think that was that the average income would go up by $20,000. (a year, I guess) And that might be because of those left having to work a few more hours a week? I dunno. She does find some strange things to send us. LOL

Racist? I guess it's sort of racist. But considering all the crap that's put out about how black people are supposedly all victims and how bad the white Americans are to them, I think it only levels the balance slightly. So am I bothered? Not really. Facts are facts, and while I dont know if the email is 100% accurate, it does have some ground to it. I don't hate black people, but I sure as heck wish that majority of them would get off their lazy butts and join the working class.
About 40% of the people I worked with in my life were black. I didn't work with many lazy butts, however, the ones I did were all white.
