Okay...at first I thought this whole idea was silly, but I'm game. MY personal fear(s)? Rollercosters, until a CHristian friend of mine told me, even made it a matter of prayer, that he would ride one with me, man and man, and do whatever it would take for me to stop 'fearing" them. When it as all over, I discovered I really liked them..at age 36! I have NO fear of them to this day!
Well, it's supposed to be silly and not being taken seriously :p But, I'm glad you decided to join! And that's awesome about the rollercoasters. What made you so scared of them before?

What changed my mind? and 'why have I arbitrarily decided that I am 'game' for this particular thread? Apparently, you did not finish reading my entire post. You 'knit-picked " the first line and forgot the entire story of how I overcame my initial fear of rollercosters, due to another CHRISTIAN stepping in and realizing that 'fears' are self created and 'fear" is actually worse than the thing we fear. Like old Roosevelt said "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". You did not see the VICTORY in this...you chose to respond to the 1st sentence in which I expressed reluctance to even reply to the thread. But, since you are truely interested in what I think, how I think and how I respond, I thankyou for your concern and insist that you continue to shine your light for CHRIST and give HIM top attention. I don't need to be so focused upon, but I am really flattered, honestly!

I guess I was scared and always had this 'thing' about falling out of one, from seeing an old movie. I really don't know why they were just so shocking to me. When I look back, I can see how this was carried over way into my adulthood. Thank GOD I changed before it was too late for my family and I have pleasant memories of amusement park riding together. Now...I ride rollercoasters with my grandchildren! Thankyou for asking, shineyourlight.

I did read your whole response. I'm sorry if I came off as offensive. I care about what you have to say.

And that makes sense as to why you'd be scared. I love rollercoasters, but I still get fearful before every one because I think I'd fall out.

Oh, no, shine. He was talking to me. I also read his whole response, but I'm sick of him telling other people that certain threads are silly, or a waste of time, or reprimanding them for chatting with their friends. I do not think it is right for him to hold us to his opinion of what is and is not edifying. :D

Yes is just so funny how folks take time to post on a thread that they say is not worth their time? Good clean fun among believers is more godly than bickering about scripture in my view ...I can do both, but the joy of the Lord is my strength :)

Okay, so I am a little bit fearful of heights. You wouldn't watch me sitting on a rope ;) But....I love roller coasters, and I've jumped off a cliff without a harness. So I guess I'm not all that fearful. What about you? Can you do some heights in some situations but not in others?

But spiders are cool!!! All you gotta do is respect their space!! :)

Once I was walking down a trail, and I found this spider no bigger than my hand, and it actually posed for a photo!!!

They are cool and they know it!!

Respect THEIR space? When they come into my apartment, they aren't respecting my space ;) So either they get a tissue or if I feel really generous, I'll take them outside. But typically, they get squished.

Yeah... I get your point... I usually only see spiders outside my apartment cause of my cats... no living being manages to enter my apartment without signing their death sentence first.... :)

but then....

i guess word got out, and years later, when i was totally unaware, a spider bit me out of revenge :( lol

I have a fear of accidentally ordering a white sauce pizza instead of the regular red sauce. Sadly it has happened a few times. :(
