We are moving to another province and my books took up thousands of pounds! I have so many book cases, I can't keep track.

To say nothing of my Kindle books. At least they travel easily!

Yeah that's why I got it, was looking for a cheap book to read on a plane trip :)
It's about a rogue Jewish physicist who despises Christianity, invents a time machine and goes back to Paul's time to assassinate him. Sounds strange but its a good read :)

I could design you a way cool bookshelf system once your in your "new place". It's a "hidden" shelf space that can hold many many books in a small space.

you will love "Mister God This is Anna", and very definitely you will cry tears of sorrow and grief too.....

and any book by Corrie Ten Boom.... "the hiding place" "in my father's house" "common sense NOT NEEDED"
is rewarding for those who are faithful to God.

...What are some good Christian books to read? I've been told about Pilgrim's Progress. Are there any Christian books maybe for learning material or just a Christian themed book for entertainment that you could recommend to me? Thanks.

Well you should read it and find out :) It is written by a physicist and a christian, I've been in contact with the author about his book(s)
I don't have time nor the desire really.. but it sounds interesting :)

It's been many years since I read it, but I'd recommend "How saved are we?" by Michael Brown. Although I disagree with Brown on certain issues, I do recall that that book was right on the money.

Demon: A Memoir by Tosca Lee
The story of a demon who, in the appearance of humans, approaches a man who works in the book industry and asks him to write the demons memoirs, starting before being cast out of heaven. It's got interesting views on many biblical events, and it does have a darker vibe to it. One of my favorite books.

If you haven't read the book

"Heaven is for Real", by Todd Burpo,

I would recommend it to you. It's a light read
but interesting. The movie was not very good.

An old favorite book of mine, though not particularly christian, is

"The Long Walk", by Slavomir Rawicz

It's a true story of survival and endurance. It has
plenty of dark moments, and you really can't put
it down.

Now that the last installment of The Hobbit has been released in the theater, here's an interesting book for Tolkien fans who want to continue on the journey. Written by two respected PhDs, it delves into Tolkien's Christianity and the political views he shared in his work that were, of course, very much influenced by his Christian religion.

It's no secret that Tolkien stated, implicitly at least, that the political significance of the work was second only to the religious in its importance and this book is an opportunity to explore them deeply.

The Hobbit Party: The Vision of Freedom That Tolkien Got, and the West Forgot: Jay Richards, Jonathan Witt: 9781586178239: Amazon.com: Books

Tolstoy was a Christian Anarchist. His books are known as some of the great books of human literature.

I only made it a 3rd through War and Peace though.
