This is a true story honest - I could not make this up if I tried.

A number of years ago we got mice in the house when some buildings nearby were knocked down.
We had a dog at the time and he chased them around (something like the scenes out of Tom and Jerry only for real).

One morning I was getting a bath and had just run in the hot water, when suddenly a mouse ran down the pipe work and jumped into the bath.

It started swimming around in the red hot water trying to get out of the bath.

I just stood there shocked at first then I started to feel sorry for it and did not want it to fry. So I got a glass container and
scooped it up, then doused it with some cold water!!

The poor thing just stood in the bottom of this container completely bedraggled (but at least it was clean!!!)

I did not have the heart to kill it and quite honestly I'm not sure how I would have done the deed anyway. So I just
gave it some cheese and then took it up to the park at the top of the road and let it go.

So just in case you were wondering, mice can swim very well !!!

My parents always have cats to control rats/mouse or mice in the house otherwise they attack and spoil almost everything in the house.

There are also some mice (very tiny) that the cat would simply ignore. For those, my dad uses poison glue. He would stick them with some foods (foods that the mice are usually attracted to) and kept them in the house. That way, our house back at home was/is kept free from the menace of mice.

If you don't have the heart to kill but just want to catch them, then I guess you can still use non-poisonous glue to do it :)

I personally don't have any qualms killing them as I think that is the best way to keep them out forever. Otherwise, they will keep coming back either to your house or to somebody's house.

I'm in church but checking this thread, good morning everybody what ever time it is. Yah, how about throwing them a cheese party outdoors like a bon fire with little toothpicks of cheese then when they all get there then get a bomb and use it this is one way.....

I just follow it until its in an open area, then put a cup over it, then slide paper underneath the cup so you can pick it up and put it outside.

that is the kind way grey, and really wonderfullly funny, be nice to your housemates and it will come back to you . Reminds me of someone work in the pet shop, where a little bunny that we wanted to buy , little tiny fits in your palms our honey bunny now almost 5 yrs. old, he was trying to get him to come out of the back hiding place, and he just stood his ground, our honey bunny, but he was so patient and kind, that the baby bunny just trusted him.
