God's choice surely would be a cat.
If a cat has no training from an adult cat - it will still hunt mice.
Whereas a house will not miraculously sprout mousetraps or boxes filled with poison (i.e. designed by man).

There are 'humane' devices one can buy to make mice leave.
But do we go with God designed or man-designed?
In this case I expect God helped the designers of the mouse-scarers - though they'll only go and pester some other person so perhaps that is not so good after all...

Cats have evolved and been domesticated into what they are now.

we live near a rice field, and as expected, we usually have these "visitors" inside the house... a few weeks ago, i was watching my favorite show, i felt something crawling on my right shoulder, since my hair is quite long, i tried to remove it readily. I had goosebumps when i saw that i was holding a black rat (i'm not really afraid of mice or rats, i like lab rats, but not those pesky black rats...but then i was also grateful that it was just a rat and not a snake!...) I threw the rat quickly and washed my hair :) So, our best weapon--- A CAT!
we have three cats now, and our black cat is the best! These cats also killed snakes before...so somehow they are doing a great job guarding our backyard...

We also used sticky mouse traps, we were able to trap one brown rat, and since my mother doesn't really like animals esp rats...she burned the rat... and i felt pity for that rat...
oh...poor rat...
