I have been using the website since September 14th 2014. My experience here has been nothing but a joke. There is so much arguing and debate, it's ridiculous. I'm about to renounce ever using this website. Debating is not a calm discussion. It is differences of opinion fighting for who may be right and have the last word. People that like to go against what you believe also happen to be aged people well in their 50's and 60's. I'd expect them to be mature. But let's face it, it doesn't matter your physical age, what matters is your emotional age. I have encoutered so much sarcasim in this place. And people call themselves Christian? Paul taught us to keep away from coarse jokes. Coarse can mean rude. And any level of sarcasim is rude. Debating = Dissension, a work of the flesh. I have grown to hate the opinionated spirit of people even more. My respect for Christianity is now at an all time low. No wonder people leave the church. No wonder the world hates Christians. The biggest ego's and pigheaded individuals there are! I just want to call out the American Church more than ever. Denominations are not healthy. They are divisions among Christians. We need one church with one faith and one doctrine. Otherwise, it's a joke. Now I am expecting some people on here to speak against this post. So have at it. Speak your mind. Just proove everything I just mentioned here. Jesus was right, there would be sheep and there would be goats in the end days. Men who are lovers of themselves, boastful, arrogant etc etc

Yeah it is hard, I've wanted to leave many times but I try and stay out of bible discussions as much as I can. Generally I say what's on my mind and leave it. I try and find other things to look for on this site as I came here for fellowship, not to be a teacher.
Well, all the best with it, sorry your experience sucked.

Agreed. Sorry your respect for Christianity is at an all time low :/ It shouldn't be that way, especially from a "Christian" site. Hope you stick around for the good aspects of this site, but if not, God bless you man!

I don't come on too often, but when I do, I usually go to the New Member section, Misc section, Prayer section, and occasionally some others. But like you, I try to keep out of the Bible Discussion section lol.

Revelator7 you may just be in the wrong sub-forum. From what you said in the first post in this thread, it sounds like you spent most of your time in Bible Discussions forum. That is more commonly known as the shouting forum, where a lot of people like to yell at each other and try to prove they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Come on over to the Christian Singles forum. There's more fun and less yelling over there.

Sincerely,

The Lynx.

I can understand what you mean. The vibe from some seem so strong that I don't really know what it is, but it does bring strong negative impact. It makes me wonder if some are actually demon possessed or something. :p

Anyway, if you really are interested in something then one has to understand that we need to surpass the things or people that distract as to what the core of our interests are. If you want to know about Christianity then sorry to say that you may need to try to be as independent as you can to actually focus and make up your mind about it rather than the people who participate in it to decide about it. It's hard but it can be done, I'm sure. That's one thing I've learned and hope to pursue.

What ever you decide on doing, whether if it's to leave if you haven't yet or for anything then I wish you the best of luck on your decisions. If it does happen for those of us who feel discouraged for any reason to be here to come back then maybe the paths will cross and we'll come back with certainty. Take care.

Brother, I know exactly how you feel. I have stood in your shoes before and at times still feel the same way. I left this sight too for the very same reasons that you mentioned. Sadly almost all other Christian sites are the same way. Very rarely will you find anyone talking in brotherly love when expressing their thoughts or correcting something that is misleading. Also within the churches, at least near me anyway, they are a joke and I often wonder what Jesus would do today if He were here and physically walked into a church today. If He was so upset in His day at the money changers and such in His place of worship, what would He do today?

I came to the conclusion a long time ago and understood why non-Christians didn't want to go to church and why they call us hypocrites. Sadly that is what most of us are now days, too many "playing" Christian and don't seem to make any effort to change their lives. Once someone becomes a true Christian, there should be a difference between the believer and non-believer. The believer is to be set apart from this world. The world should be able to look at us and see that we are different and not of this world.

I encourage you to stay and try to make friends with and relate to those of us who try hard to be the kind of Christian God wants us to be. It is hard in this day and age. I mess up as much as the next guy, but I try and I always hope others can see a difference in me from the world. I certainly don't want to act or be like those of this world. And neither should any other true Christian.

All I can say is try to stay away from some of the forums and threads, because no matter what you say or have Scripture to back you up, there are going to be certain ones that will put you down and tell you you are wrong, even though you know in your heart what Christ has taught you and laid upon your heart. Find those of us who try to speak truth and stick with talking with them about Bible subjects, etc.

Feel free to send me a friends request if you like. I try to do my best and I am a work in progress.

God bless and best wishes.

Please don't let certain people force you out or silence you, just because they don't know any better. When you do, you let them win and it makes them even stronger.

Well, I think I will sit back and use my education. I have a BS in psychology 2010 graduate. I have written in these forums and the responses are varied in purpose. I'll just sit back and see Christians do just the opposite of what Jesus says to do. Internet, be careful of what you put on it.

I try, but not always well, to keep in mind that most of us do not personally know each other. so we can claim anything about ourselves. a lot of these " claims" are in the Bible discussion forum. it is just best not to respond to some, particularly to peple who claim to be sinless and perfect, or those who say they have special insights on how things should be. avoiding getting in to arguments with these, which will just irritate you, helps a lot.

Personally I would hate to see you go. I really get what you are saying though let me explain how I have learned to deal with this situation.

Two weeks after joining my first chat site ever - this one CC....One of the Christians called me a Judaizer I didn't even know what that meant so was not sure how I could be one and my feelings got a little bit hurt plus I wanted to defend myself. So I talked to God about it and came away from that talk learning that I should not take what people say to me personally.

First that they really aren't attacking me, but Jesus. That I should be an example and make my responses reflect the way I thought that Jesus would respond with kindness and love. From that point until now I don't take others responses personally. I will state my point of view and if the thread seems to be a never ending argument with no one listening to the other I will move on as I don't believe it brings glory to God.

Since last October 2013, I have been called a Judaizer, wolf in sheep's clothing, a demon or having one and more than once told I was going to hell. Again they are not attacking me - they are attacking Jesus. My response to the demon accusation was that Jesus was also accused of this so I guess I was in good company. You know if you can't beat um join um.

I am glad I haven't given up and quit because the main reason I even joined was to meet and get new friends, to have fellowship with other like minded Christians, to be able to help or encourage someone that might be hurting and all of my original goals have been met this year, and God even gave me a benefit in that I have met a wonderful Christian man who I am considering marriage with - (I wasn't looking by the way).

So re-evaluate why you joined this site and make your choice I personally encourage you to stay, because the truth of the matter is EVERYONE ON THIS SITE IS A SINNER whether they believe that or not and we all need the same Jesus to save us from our sins. There are a lot of Godly, loving people here you just have to seek them out and chat with them. God loves us all the same and I am learning to love them all too. So please stay. Darlene/JesusLives

P.S. Many of my considered enemies I have made my friend and now call them my Fenemys.... God love em.

Yup, I also have been told I'm going to hell for certain things, that I have a demon in me which causes my epileptic seizures (which is ridiculous, lol), and I have been called a blasphemer AND a hypocrit and a liar on here. I also have been called a cultural racist simply because I dont like rap music with swear words such as the F and N-words in it. I mean, really? C'mon, just because I don't like listening to swear words makes me a racist against other colors and lifestyles? I have friends of EVERY color, religion, and lifestyle!!

I do get how the OP feels, however. Since I joined back in February, I've seen alot of arguing, fighting, finger-pointing, name-calling, self-righteousness and insults get thrown around. The problem is each person thinks THEY are right, and has to continually try and prove WHY they are right and everyone else is wrong. Others just like to argue to show how smart they think they are, trying to lord over the rest of us that they have a degree in this, that, and whatever..lol.. Just because you have a degree does NOT make you the ultimate know-all be-all!!

There is an ignore list for a reason. If ppl are tired of listening to somebody blather on, then stick 'em on ignore and you will no longer see their posts. PROBLEM SOLVED!! :) Also, we can choose whether or not to respond to someone's post..Some choose to simply because they want the last word..lol

I hate that your view of everything on here is so grim, yet I know what you mean. I am pretty new to this site, yet I've found myself falling into the very same kind of arguments. I have learned a lot from them though. I learned a better way to package my personal views and present them in a way that really can't be argued with. Each of us are on our own walk with Jesus, and we are more then likely going to be at different places in that walk then anyone else is at that time. Also God gives each of us our own gifts and purposes and uses them all for His glory, so just because we serve 2 different roles does not make one of us right and the other wrong. The important thing is to love each other as we were commanded to by Him. He has been working in my heart on that particular subject a lot in the last week or so, and I can see the beauty in all of His children and I feel a whole new level of love for all that are working to bring glory to His name.

My brothers and sisters, I love each one of you very much, and I appreciate all that know He is ALL and realize what an unfathomable gift our great God gave to such wretched, undeserving, ungrateful, and disobedient group of people. Praise His Almighty name.

It just seems to me a reason for staying.....you will come up against some adversity while
you witness to the world....it's good practice...instead of complaining about how others treat you...
Do as Jesus did when He was attacked....quote the scripture...none of us can argue....
and move on.....too many people bite that bait ....swim away from the bait and pray for that
fisherman.....he has a tough row to hoe.....this way you gain wisdom....and hopefully your
prayer will help that lost soul......the proverbial two birds with one stone.....you might say...
Im sure glad for our sakes Jesus could take the abuse....or we all wouldnt be here....
Peace ....and I hope you chose to stay.......jo

I forgot to say, I am glad I came back to CC. I have learned much from my experiences on here from a couple years ago, and I refuse to let anyone put me down or hurt me to the point of leaving again. I feel God wanted me back on here for a reason and I will stay to do what I can to be here for others, those that need prayer, a listening ear, encouragement, etc. As I too find I am in need of these things, and I am sure there is a part of everyone of us that has the same needs as well. So I hope you will decided to stay. I have met a couple very nice people and as I stated earlier in a post, just stay out of some of the forums. I find I can be here for others better by just getting on chat and making myself available, or look through posts of subjects that I know I can relate to or things I have been through that someone else is currently facing, and I will leave comments on those threads to be an encouragement.

Hope you will stay, God bless you
