A Civil War can drive a person insane and yet this man knew how to manage it.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Its interesting that this was written in 1776 but wasn't really believed or enforced until much later. I wonder how many whose signature was on this document actually owned slaves? Kind of ironic, I think.

I actually see Abraham Lincoln differently because of this thread. I didn't like him before this. My opinion has just changed.
