I'm with you, Carol. I seldom get more than three or four books going at once.
I typically read no more than three to four books at a time, but the past few months things got a little out of hand. Haha!

that's a strange but kinda cool boook (The unlikely pilgrimage).

I finished reading The Use of Man. Many spine- chilling descriptions of the war, but I think the author is too focused on the characters sexual feelings.

I haven't had that much time for leisure reading in the past year, as such I cannot remember the last book I completed.

However, I am currently reading 'Hero in the Shadows' by David Gemmel.

It is the 9th book of the Drenai Tales series and the third one exploring the deeds of Waylander the Slayer. Set some decades after the events of 'Waylander II: In the Realm of the Wolf' Waylander now lives in the foreign land of Kydor as the mysterious and incredibly wealthy "Grey Man".

After his old friend, Matze Chai, appears at his doorstep with two elite Rajnee warriors, Waylander uncovers a plot from another world. Demons, immortal creatures from a whole other realm entirely, seek to complete the task that they failed millennia ago; destroy the world of men and usurp it for their own.

After being confronted by the tide of darkness, Waylander must reluctantly take up his winged crossbow once more, and unleash the Slayer inside that has been suppressed for so long, in order to battle a threat on a whole new level, from the very literal pits of hell.

Just wrapping up East of Eden by Steinbeck. It's good, though sort of anti-climactic. Steinbeck takes readers through several generations of two families - the Trasks and the Hamiltons (with more focus on the former) - while providing a glimpse of the West at the turn of the century, and reserves the occasional chapter for waxing philosophical.

Personally, I like Steinbeck's writing style. East of Eden is a good read; the pace of the story is perfect, the characters are unwittingly relatable, and the zeitgeist and imagery are presented well enough. About another 100 pages until I move on to either The Problems of Philosophy (Bertrand Russell) or Misquoting Jesus (Bart D. Ehrman).

I just finished "The Pawn" by Steven James. It is about an FBI agent tracking a serial killer who thinks it is all a game(cat and mouse). It tries to touch on good versus evil and has Christian themes throughout it.

I just finished Battlefield of the Mind. :) It's great :D I have another book coming called "The Battle between Your Ears". I don't know why I'm obsessing over battles... But before I start reading another Battle book, here's one I'm going to start reading in two days "Berklee Music Theory 1 by Paul Schmeling" not a Christian book lol but I love music so I was thinking of alternating between a christian book and a music book :)

One of the last book's I read was "God's Smuggler" by Brother Andrew.

It was such an inspiring story of faith! It truly ministered to my heart. I couldn't put it down. Te trials and tests he went through and the miracles he recounted as he trusted and put his faith in God to provide and lead was so moving. I know I cried more than a few times through out this book. I highly recommend to everyone.

The next book I'm going to read will either be "It's good to he Queen" by Liz Curtis Higgs or "Not by Sight" by Kate Breslin.

Ah, Steven James. He's a talented writer and storyteller. I haven't read all of his books, but so far I've read "The Pawn", "The Rook", "The Knight", "The Bishop", and "The Queen". Did you enjoy the book?

Yeah, his books are really interesting. I started reading "the Rook" too. I have not found anyone else that writes books as intriguing as Steven James. Did you enjoy them and do you have a favorite?

Halfway through wide awake by erwin raphael mcmanus. Inspiring book. Motivates me to dream with eyes wide open, to live not just a mediocre life but a life that God intended us to live full of purpose and passion for His glory. And to wake up in the morning without that heavy feeling of sadness but full of zest for life.

Next book is beautiful outlaw by john eldredge. Its the interesting, funny, rebellious, stubborn, outlaw side of Jesus.

Oh same title with his recent podcast, which I haven't listened to yet. Might start listening to him as well, only listened to him once. My sister likes his podcast.
