I know that feeling. I have had 2 churches which (if i hadn't known better) would have driven me off too. It took me 3 years of going from church to church tonfind a, place that felt right...and its a african church where im the only caucasian lol!
Now i can understand your struggle better because if u fall back and forth its kinda hard to really commit yourself. Especially if ur in a place where u dont feel comfortable.

When u wanna do something u should always try to think if Jesus would do it. Sometimes u do something anyways and months or years later you feel stupid for doing it.
I pray that God reveals to u the things that are ok and what not. Sometimes we like to compromise but that is the worst u can do.
And i pray u get to meet God and have freedom

thank you very much, the more I learn the better I understand, and I have just learnt something from your message. I have always lived my life, my way, and I want a full and proper life serving God, so learning His way I know is the best way. its just knowing, I will soon enough :) God bless you !

If I were a woman, I think I would have a hard time doing my hair (maybe dying it) putting on makeup and eye shadow, and lipstick, wearing perfume, spending big $ on clothes and shoes, etc...
If you were a woman, I'd strongly recommend that you shave your beard first. I wouldn't even consider asking you out til that beard was gone ...

Further vandalizing a Temple of the Holy Spirit would be wrong.
hmmmm..... to my understanding, the only sin we can commit that is against our body is sexual immorality. Doesn't say anything about needles and ink.

I think scripture says to glorify God in our bodies.... what if the tattoos were "praise" tattoos? Wouldn't that be glorifying God with our body?

Just a thought....

honest opinions ...

do you judge tattooed women going to church?

the reason I ask is, I'm tattooed, I go to church (not long started my Christian life) I've worn a cardigan each time I go and wont take it off. mainly the older generation attend the church where I go to, and I feel like they will look down on me if I were to reveal my arm, how do I manage this? will I still be looked at the same? will I still be allowed in church?!
Honest answer, I judge all tattooed people.

And here is my judgement:
1. Are you nuts? Every tiny piece of that artwork is someone jabbing your skin systematically, over and over again. I can tell it hurts. It's red when it's done, and you don't want anyone even patting you there. Why would someone intentionally choose to let someone jab them over and over again, even paying the person to do just that? And what happens if you change your mind on it? It hurts more to remove them.

2. Do you get the body changes often in life? That cute little dragonfly is going to look like a grotesque moth of Jurassic proportions, if you ever gain 50+ pound. It's going to look mummified, if you lose 50+ pounds. And wait until wrinkles set in. It will go from impressionism to Dali to Picasso to what-in-the-world-is-that, if you're fortunate enough to live a long life.

So, yup, yup, yup. We old Christian women are looking, and thinking, as we see it. Probably not at all what you thought we were thinking.

After all. I'm 61 years old, and everyone-is-getting-tattoos-now started in my late teens and early 20s. It's kind of like rap music. I really thought it would die out long ago, but it hasn't.

Who knew? lol

I would love to see a building full of people who look out of place. Tattooed, unshaven, long hair, pink & blue hair, poorly dressed.
Are not the people we are trying to reach with the Gospel.
If these are not welcomed with open arms, than neither am I, and I will leave and tell everyone why.
LOL Out of place? You just described most of the churches in my neck-of-the-woods. You just described the Christians around me. They've already heard the gospel. That's why they're in church!

I'm now dying to know what you're neck-of-the-woods look like if folks are tatooless, shaven, short hair, without weaves, and decked-to-the-nine. I haven't seen that church since the 60s. LOL

Yes, it's compatible with scripture.

And why do you assume i was talking to you in my posts to begin with? You're talking about whatever... i'm answering the OP. Get over yourself. It's not all about you.
Honestly, your photos freaked me out.

All I got was
ouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouchouch
looking at them. Each tiny little needle jab. OUCH! It hurts!

Its the members of the congregation that have the problem. If the situation gets too serious I would start looking for another Church. An alternative is start your own. ''The Tattoo Tabernacle'' could be a suitable name for it!
We don't yet know if her fears will be realized. I've worried often about what others thought when I was younger. I don't anymore, because my fears were rarely realized and I did learn quickly that most people aren't that concerned about me. Their more concerned about them. So, even if they are bothered by me, it will fade away in 1-5 minutes.

I have read opinions, and now I defiantly feel more clear minded. Actually now, I feel, it really doesn't matter what others say on how or look .. I have tattoos I have piercings, on the outside I might not be to everyone's 'standard' or 'tastes' ..... but my heart has not changed, and will not change. My heart is pure for God, and he loves me, and he accepts me, regardless on what I look like on the outside. And just to add, if ever I do consider to have any other tattoo, I now know, that's okay too, as my heart is STILL pure :) ... good day all
Something that helps greatly in life:
At 20, I worried about what everyone else thought of me.
At 40, I stopped caring what everyone else thought about me.
At 60, I realized no one thought about me.

Truth be known, we are so very self-absorbed, we just don't care about whatever it was that bothered us about someone all that long. Don't let the world judge you, because their judgement is quick and fleeting. And, ultimately, it doesn't matter.

Focus on the Lord. HE matters!

what if I wasn't new to faith, would you then see a difference?:rolleyes:
Are you noticing that too? It's kind of like, "Well, now that she's a Christian, she won't do that anymore."

Meanwhile, sounds like you're enjoying the tats so are planning on more. lol

(And again, "ouchouchouch!" Never going to get over how much that has to hurt. lol)

Well, set outside of the First Baptist, Presbyterian, or Methodist in most southern or western cities on Sunday norning.
The suits, ties, and fine clothes those folks wear!

As with most people on here, you do not indicate where you are from, so I cannot just grab my directory and post a local phone number for you to call. But, if you get to feeling you want to change churches, give me a shout on PM. I know one denomination that will never give a second thought to your tats.
Unfortunately, that doesn't mean they focus on the Lord too.

If someone needs a church that accepts tattoos fine, there is always the Catholic Church too. I won't recommend them either, because they don't focus on the Lord either.

Truth is most denoms and nondenoms don't revolt against tattoos, so that is no reason to pick a church.

What do u expect her to do? Cut the tatoos out of her skin? Ppl get saved after being criminals. They usually dont magically disappear
Ever dawn on you she might have gotten the tats after being saved? Most of the Christians I know who got tats got them after being saved. AND, they're getting more!

Well not judging is good. It should still be right on the money. God doesnt want us to have tatoos. Which means we gotta accept its a sin if we like it or not.
That doesnt mean that if u repent and come to God that they will disappear.
Also ...ppl should let her live. We cant sugarcoat it but also dragging her through the dirt like someone else is doing is just as bad.
What worries me is that she thinks its okay and wants to get more. Thats the only thing
Besides that, heck if ppl wanna tear her up about that lets start with the adulterers, drinkers, smokers, fornicators etc. Because no one here is clean and never sinned.
It makes no difference if u got tatooes in the past or did something else. U shouldnt do it, did it anyway...hold up the mirrors lol
Do you cover your hair and wear a dress when you go to church?

Just checking how legalistic you are.

I don't judge. It's not my place. It's between an individual and the Lord.
Personally, I would cover because the show is Jesus focused and I wouldn't want to distract anyone else..but we aren't at church to make someone with tattoos feel uncomfortable either.
Moot.

These are Vineyard Fellowships.
try: +44 (0) 20 3872 2090 (I think that is Coseley) [Not sure about the 2090]
or
0 1296 424 400 (Aylesbury)

British phone numbers are a total mystery to me, so if neither of these works, PM me and I will look some more.
Do not go to Vineyard Fellowships.

Jesus doesn't love you any less...neither do I. If someone complains use it as an opportunity to testify! God can use your tats for His glory! Amen!

Clean shaven? (I notice you're not.) No weaves or dye jobs? No tats under the suit? And, dare I ask?

Dresses only for the gals?
