I know spiders are useful for reasons you named, however I dinna love spiders! Spiders can live elsewhere...never in my house.

I shall covey episode,
I was preparing for work one day.
I placed on myself my jeans and sensed a prinkling on my upper leg.
I reached inside jeans and sensed a hard crinkling sellophane like errr....piece.
I pulled back hand and in my palm was a massive, huge, enourmous, wriggling spider!
Aaargh......double aargh....scream, ran around bedroom waving hand in air.
I dropped spider and jumped on bed, jeans fell around ankles.
On my upper leg was a midge like bump where spider had fagged me!
Whaaaagh, I was worried would my leg drop off, were uk house spiders venemous?
Half an hour passed and my leg was ok, however where was said spider. Somewhere in
my bedroom. I remained on bed peering over edge looking for spider.... never found.

Such a funny game, one needing much skill in knowledge of vocabulary. Purple lady reigns supreme in conversing sans crossbar. I like spiders. Brown recluse ones are dangerous, however. Very odd- some spiders large and colorful are sans venom, while brown recluse, small and mousy can be deadly. Here is one we have in our area- a banana spider, very lovely arachnids.
