Atheist chat sight..might go a little bit like this...

''There is no God''
''I agree, there is no God''
''Well I guess that's all we have to talk about''
''Guess so..see ya later''
Actually South Park addressed this surprisingly well. There was an episode where they go into the future to find everyone's an atheist and religion no longer exists. It leads Cartman to ask if no one believes in a god, does it mean all the religion inspired wars have stopped and is there finally world peace? The short answer is no and while atheists all agree that to their knowledge there is no God... that's about the only thing they agree on and wars are still started by all the little things they don't agree on.

So there is obviously more to it than believing in no God, (just like there's more to Christianity than believing in a God), and therefore more to discuss.

I can't help but notice you complain when non-believers mock your faith, yet you handle the personal beliefs of others with over-simplifying and disrespectful ignorance. You don't have to be rude about the fact that you disagree. We may be of different walks of life, but I'd like to hope we can at least agree on "Do unto others..."

Bottem line,,this is a christian websight. If i were to seek out an atheist chat sight and mock them for not believing in God...that would classify me as a troll...would it not? And you know was well as i do that many of them come here for that very reason. They have classic troll questions like....How can the Bible justify this or that....or if there is a God than why does this or that happen.......

While I will agree that yes there are trolls that come in here to start trouble, those are not always troll questions. Sometimes people really do want an answer that makes sense regarding Christian beliefs and the Bible. There's nothing wrong with wanting answers.

And it still doesn't change the fact that treating all non-believers with disrespect is any better than a non-believer entering here and treating the Christians with disrespect.

Respect is sooooo important! And respecting somebody is totally not the same thing as agreeing with everything they say. Respect should be the norm, for all human beings.

i dont know where you are seeing the alleged disrespect. I havent said anything disrespectful to or about anyone. Peopple just tend to have this ''how dare you disagree with me'' attitude. Whether you worship no God or if you worship the purple spaghetti. I am not the least bit interested as to why you worship that particular thing. I know who my God is. I know who I am with my God. That's it,,,bottem line..anyone who is offended with that.sorry..take it up with God.

Well for starters there's your rather insulting script of how you think atheists chat. Your over simplified and mocking view of the theory of evolution (it's the equivalent of an atheist saying that creationism is nothing more than an invisible man speaking the earth into existence). The way you seem to think all atheists, especially the ones who ask questions, are trolls. And of course your ongoing theme of "If they're here, it's because they have nothing better to do."

Your beliefs are not what's offensive, it's your attitude towards people who don't agree. As someone already pointed out, you don't have to agree with someone to be respectful of them. If you don't like it when people mock or belittle Christianity, don't turn around and do the same thing to someone else's beliefs.

I say again,,,this is a Christian web sight. So you cant expect christians to be open to the evolution theory, being that it is contadictory to our christian beliefs. I wouldnt go to a vegan websight and expect them to to be open to discussions on how to grill a steak....that would be out of order

I don't expect them to be open to evolution at all. That wasn't what I was asking for and you continuously fail to understand the difference between disagreeing and being disrespectful. Like I said, it would be like if an atheist explained creationism as "some invisible guy with magic powers speaking the world into existence out of nothing." There is obviously a lot more to it than that overly simplified explanation (heck, I do get mad when that does happen and I don't even believe in creationism), just like there's more to the evolution theory than "nothing came from nothing and exploded."

I understand most Christians don't believe in evolution and I would never expect them to.

The evolution theory is a lie from Satan..I say, I mean it, and I don't apologize for it.once again,,,if that offends you sorry....

What about bad waitors, or bad gardeners, or how about bad tennis players...im sure there are many, but I'm not gonna seek out websights just to gripe about them...I have better things to do with my time
This is a mischaracterization of the reasons which have been presented to you from some atheists here for their presence.

Atheist chat sight..might go a little bit like this...

''There is no God''
''I agree, there is no God''
''Well I guess that's all we have to talk about''
''Guess so..see ya later''
Feel free to see for yourself how a freethought forum looks: www.thinkinguniverse.org

We talk about a wide range of subjects, and we welcome believers from all faiths as well as non-believers. Come and check us out. We're not nearly as simple as your stereotyping indicates you believe us to be.

That's actually a very funny conversation.....:)

Atheism. The belief that there was nothing, and nothing happened to nothing, and then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything, and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself, for no reason what so ever, into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs ...........

makes perfect sense.
That's pretty funny, in a "look-how-wrong-he-can-be" sort of way. Especially the part about "magically", considering that the scientific method specifically seeks out answers to questions, rather than ascribing them to a deity and ceasing all investigations.

Also, to expand upon this a little, the site I linked above, we had a vibrant chatroom, with perhaps fifty or sixty regulars from around the world -- mostly atheist, with some Christians, a Muslim, a Buddhist, and others whose faith (or lack thereof) I never learned.

Anyway, in September of 2010 that was killed by a Christian hacker who used software to exploit a chink in the AJAX architecture to kill the chatroom. Because our IT guy had suffered a death in his family, he was unable to address the matter for a couple of weeks, but by that time the damage was done; we lost much readership, and never really recovered. When we migrated the site (for reasons unrelated) to our current url/format, that was the end of it.

So, in some cases, there's no chat at all, for the above conversation, or any other.

Not what I was talking about and since you can't seem to understand even when I break it down for you, I leave you to continue on with your incorrect assumption.

That is because you already know most everything about Santa Claus. Also, no one believes in Santa after they are about 10. Millions of people believe in God until they die. I want to know why this is.
This is an extremely interesting post, i think that our own nature make this question since we born....i think that the footprint of our creator is in each cell of our bodies and minds....

How do you know the hacker was a Christian? Did he fill the site with other stuff, or leave messages?

Hacking someone else's website is insanely inappropriate, no matter who does it or why.

nothing came from nothing and exploded sounds more like the big bang theory then evolution.

evolution is so misunderstood. the basic concept of natural selection is actually accepted by most scientifically inclined Christians.

Its when you take it to everything evolving out of pond scum by random chance that you get a debate, and the whole million of years concept.

Because he did it a couple of times using other chinks in AJAX, and came back to gloat about it after we returned the chat to usability.

Actually, even Big Bang theory doesn't argue that nothing comes from nothing. With our current understanding of physics, no one can know what happened before Planck Time (10^-43 seconds, or 1/1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000th of a second) because at that point, the laws of physics as we know them cease to function.

Well, I see what you're saying, but natural selection isn't really random chance.

Natural selection can easily be observed and proven. Take rattlesnakes for example. They're beginning to shift over to having no rattle. Why? Because that signature warning sound they give off makes them stick out like a sore thumb and people kill them because they're dangerous. Unfortunately that's making it so the ones born without a rattle blend in and are safer from humans but humans less safe from them.

It's more than just the fact that they're "the fittest." It's why they were the fittest. Certain traits survive and become the norm for a reason. Not "just cuz."
