I'm new to this site and a brand new Christian. I was raised as an atheist but God found me recently and sent me an angel. I feel completely different now. I'm scared to go to a church though. Crowds make me very nervous and pastors intimidate me for some reason. It's probably some low self esteem that I have, but I am hoping to find some online fellowship to get involved with. I am hoping to get baptized soon, but I'm not sure who is going to do it. God Bless.

hello Jeffrey =] and welcome!

i hope you'll enjoy this site, im semi-new myself. i grew up an atheist and i can relate on what you mean with being a little intimidated. its a new world, a new way of life, but so much better now that you have accepted Jesus =] just earlier this year was when i was saved. the repentance was the most beautiful experience i have ever had.
well i do hope and im sure, all in the will of God, you will have guidance now and in your future =] it helps to go to local churches with friends. and its all in how you percieve the Word and what you study =] but we're all in this together and our Father is so loving! Im so happy you want to get bapized, i yet have to learn and be ready for baptism, myself. cant wait =]
and remember, its no ones business to judge, but God himself, let him deal with those who cause you grief, and pray for those who do. keep on fighting the good fight =] Brothers and Sisters are meant to love one another and to love thy neighbor =] we all have our ups and downs but we all have One Love, Our Father, the Creator <3

with tons of love! God Bless
In Jesus Name, Amen

Thanks for the welcome. I've had a day full of prayer and thoughts of selflessness. A Christian friend of mine was inspired by my conversion and he wished me luck. I'm looking into whether or not he can baptize me. I'm about to discuss it with him.:)

FIRST FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME THE BOTH OF YOU TO THE FAMILY OF GOD... YOU ARE NOT JUST SAVED NOW... YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE GOD WHO CREATED YOU { ALL IS HIS CREATION, BUT NOT ALL IS HIS CHILDREN}. YOU KEEP PRAYING THAT THE LORD WILL FIND YOU AN ASSEMBLY THAT YOU MAY GATHER TOGETHER WITH THE SAINT OF GOD..{ WHICH WE ALL ARE}.... YOU SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF NOTHING AND NO ONE... NEVER BE INTIMIDATED BY NO MAN... EXSPECIALLY GOD'S CHILDREN... A TITLE IS NOTHING BUT AN ARROW FROM GOD POINTING HIS FINGER TO THE ONES WHO GOD WILL USE TO HELP YOU GROW IN HIM. God said if he be for you.. he is more than the whole world against you... if they are true men or women of God there is no need to be afraid... all who are with the Lord for real... have something so powerful that when they come together it is so much power in that place.. they have the Holy Spirit of God.... so don't let the devil tell you that pastors or anyone in the church is greater then you.. they are not we are all equal in the heart of God. yet pray and seek the Lord for a ministry that will help you get to know him... and be careful you don't get attached to man.... they are not God... just hold the Word of God that will help you get life in Christ....

Keep you heart in the Lord by keeping it on his Holy Word. seek truth nothing but... seek all you need from the Lord.... always ask God first no matter what... he will answer you either through your heart (mind) or through one of his vessels that have the Holy Spirit of God... and that can be a child if God will.

GOD BLESS YOU... AND IF YOU TRULY TRUST HIM.... YOU WILL NOT HAVE NOTHING MAKING YOU AFRAID OR NERVOUS.... TRUST HIM!!!!

Welcome! Glad you joined, I hope your time is blessed here.
If I were you I would ask around about the churches in your area.
Remember you can just visit a few, and then decide which one to join.
I will be praying for you to find a church home.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Congrats!!! You have a very strong testimony. It is rare to see one that was brought up an athiest to convert their life to the lord, if you like we can exchange testimony. i would love to hear it.

I just woke up at 4 am. I said a prayer to God and thanked him for his salvation. I thanked him for my new freedom. I pondered, and then asked him about life after death and I feel like He told me not to worry about that right now. Just that I should be thankful and keep myself open to Him, and He would do the rest. That's a good deal. He's in charge. I like that.

Then I checked this thread and saw all of the welcomes. Thanks to all of you. Such a warm welcome is great, as I am coming in from the cold.:)

Hi, welcome to CC..

Not to be negative and all that, please get a church soon because if you're expecting this site to be some kind of replacement for a real church, then you're making a mistake..

Anywayz, welcome again :) :)

I don't think you have a concealed weapon.
I don't think he does, either. But I still wouldn't try to take his cookies.

Seriously though, welcome to the family, Jeffrey... it's really great to see an atheist (or anybody!) come to know the Peace that passes understanding.

And I also wouldn't stress out about finding a church too much, God will show you where you need to be if you keep doing what you're doing and remain open to His guidance. Prayer is an excellent place to start; as the bible says, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."
God bless, brother!
