I am glad that everything is going well over there. Like all countries, there are more conservative parts than others. I'm glad you live in an area of South Korea that is open to brown and black folks. I live in an area of the US that is accepting of us folks also.
I think it's incredibly sad that things have changed so much since I was a child.

50 years ago, I never once heard of any issues with Americans (of any color) having to be "accepted". We were Americans so it went without saying. Even in HS, we were just Americans. I honestly do not understand how we got to this point. Maybe I was just blind and didn't see it as I wasn't raised that way, but I feel sideswiped by what seems to me a sudden shift. It just makes me so sad.

My Great Uncle Jim, God rest his soul, wouldn't recognize the America of today. He was from Georgia. He had a great business, a good wife, raised 4 kids, and never once did anyone shun him for being a black man married to a white woman. He was Uncle Jim <3 Everyone loved him and his funeral was so packed with all of those who loved and appreciated him. I guess I thought the whole world would always be like that.

It seems like the US has regressed since the 1980s.

Hello from Ireland!

We'll try to keep the country intact until you come back. Must be nice to be warm :) I'm originally from Texas and even after 8 years here, I'm still freezing 🤣🤣
Hi Elshya! Haha that's a tough job for anyone, especially in this day and age 😅 it's not warm right now in Korea, we're still in winter but it should be heating up in the next month or so! Yeah Irish weather is not for the faint hearted haha. I ran away from every day rain 😂

I'm *still* trying to figure out two things:

1. How women hang their clothes to dry in the rain and they dry
2. How farmers in my area make hay in the rain.

My Texan brain can not wrap my head around these two concepts. LOL!!

Hi everyone! I'm Maka, 27 year old female from Ireland but I moved to South Korea to teach English 6 months ago. Loving it here so far! If any of you live in Korea, I would love to be able to fellowship! Looking for a community of believers who are serious about their faith, intercession and bible exploring. It's nice to see so many Christians on here, I'm excited to discuss with you! Feel free to leave me a comment ☺️

Hey, I don't live in Korea, but we're practically neighbors. I live in Japan and teach English. I've never been to Ireland, but in the young singles church group I attended in college, I was very close to a family from Ireland. I dated one girl who was the middle sister and she made me feel included with her family. I loved her, but we never got romantic. I was a mentor to her little brother, and it was her older sister who encouraged me to marry my long-distance girlfriend in Japan. So, I almost could have married into an Irish family. Her dad wanted me to marry his daughter, but God was holding me back from getting involved with her.
