Does everyone remember when i was searching for wisdom? I recently read something telling of how solomon could have asked god for anything, Riches, glory anything but he asked god for wisdom because he knew the value and power of her. Lately i have had many problems, like there was a war going on inside me. I knew and still know there is something missing in my christian life, I have had many problems and challenges and have kept failing and failing and now am scared of them because i feel weak and unable to beat them. But isn't true that with wisdom we see challenges as a chance to grow and not fear them but take them on? I have forgotten all that god taught me about wisdom, and i am ashamed that i quit seeking his wisdom. I have noticed how my christian life has been stale and have been trying to figure out why that is. I do not know if this wisdom is what i have been missing but i am going to pray to god for his wisdom and the hunger to seek it, i doubt he will answer because of my lack of faith But i have to try.

Very warm greetings, Blain, I can say, unequivocally, that needing and requesting prayer is not something to be ashamed of or the fact that you may be remiss about God's wisdom in your life at the present time.

God knows that part of a person's life in this dimension is all about growing. But in order to grow they have to experience much in their life. And not all is going to be a bed of roses. In fact, there will be some very hard times to extremely hard times in a person's life, and no one is immune from these periods of trial and tribulation. Seeking wisdom is wonderful when one reaches out to God and asks Him for it in prayer and then sits in quiet meditation to hear His Divine answer. But God also knows that people often fall into the ways of this world therefore, are going to temporarily put a blind eye to His ever-infusing wisdom. That is expected as otherwise people would all be perfect and perfection is not something that this world knows of presently and hasn't known of since before the time of Adam and Eve.

You say your Christian life has been stale. One way of knowing why that is is to remember what Christianity teaches and what it is all about. Have you helped others in their time of need? Have you done good deeds for others including family members, neighbors and even strangers? These are good starting points as they show not only you that you are living a Christian life but they show those who may know you or even not at all what you are all about on the inside and the smile on your face as you help them out in their time of need will further surely tell the story of what you are all about! They may even ask you what your religion or spiritual affiliation is and then you can proudly tell them that you are a Christian!

An examination of conscience is another way to know where you are deficient in and why. Going introspectively in the silence and communing with God will give you the great opportunity to know why you appear to be gravitating away from the LORD and how you can rectify that. Spend a few minutes each day and simply ask God in a place where you will not be disturbed how you can become closer to Him and pray for greater wisdom in your life. You will be surprised how quick God will respond to such a request! I know because I have tried it myself and was amazed at the information God sent to me that allowed me fit the last piece in that part of the puzzle that I was trying to piece together.

And prayer is always a Must! Do not delay or become remiss about prayer! God never delays giving you another day of life nor is He remiss about giving you many blessings each day! A few extra moments spent in prayer visiting with Him will surely do you a world of good!

It is my hope and prayer that you will truly move forward once you put these things into actual motion and resolve to leave whatever does no longer serve you in your life and embrace that which is pleasing to God. Once you do that you will find that you will breathe easier and will be able to truly go forward in your life with newly found knowledge to guide you every day with God right by your side.

May God bless you and enrich your life always, Blain! My prayers are with you.

Hi Blain, sorry for how you FEEL, but you have nothing to feel ashamed about. The previous post was a great answer, follow thru. Usually, but not always, a person feels like they need wisdom because they are surrounded by people who think they are more spiritual than others. If that's the case, get some new friends. I don't know if facing your challenges head on is the best way to beat them or not as you posed the question. I don't think it matters if u sneek up behind it & beat it with a sucker punch, as long as you win it doesn't matter how you do it. Avoid triggers.Pray, pray, pray. Don't be scared of them. You can dispose of them. I'm scared of a spider biting me, but I can crush it before it bites me, & I'm confident in that.I have seen you on here seeking wisdom, so I don't know why u say u stopped seeking God's wisdom. Some of these posts, but certainly not all, provoke you to seek out God's wisdom. Others don't even seem spritual.Sounds like you have way too many emotions ruling your day. Don't allow emotions to control u. Blain the Bible says (sorry don't recall where)(sorry for the bold typo),, that God talks to us in our sleep. Set a notebook or recorder near your bed & write down your dreams & impressions before you forget them. I bet God does answer you. We just dismiss it. Not all are God's msg, but check to see.We get answers sometimes that we don't recognize as answers. With the risk of people saying this is not Christian etc, I'm going to tell you a "joke", sort of, anyway. I think it's Christian.
A man was standing on his roof to avoid flood waters. A man came by in a boat & offered him a ride to leave the area. The man on the roof said "No, I'm waiting on God to save me". A helicopter came by & lowered it's ladder, & the man on the roof declined their offer as well, saying he was waiting on God to save him. The man on the roof drowned. When he got to heaven he asked God why God didn't save him. God told the man that HE sent a boat & a helicopter. Blain, you are not spiritually inferior to anyone here. Take rest In jesus. Then pray to beat these untrue thoughts & overcome your trials. Don't ever give up. God bless you.

My very dear Blain, hear this:
God is faithful! (Deut. 7:9; 1 Cor. 1:9; 2 Cor. 1:18)

His fidelity is NOT dependent on ours, thank and praise Him.
We are shocked and surprised when our thoughts, words, and deeds to not "measure up", but He isn't. :)

Jesus came and suffered as we do. He is the God who understand all about what it's like to be us.
This is what makes Him such a Great High Priest (Heb. 4:14), always living to intercede for us before the Father. (Heb. 7:25)
He is the Author and perfecter (finisher) of our faith! (Heb. 12:2)
He began this good work in you, and He will be faithful to complete it! (Phil. 1:6)

He has promised us this, and He will fulfill all His promises! (2 Cor. 1:20)
I hope this brings you some encouragement, beloved.

I am praying for you, dear child. ♥
-ellie

Bottom line: sex sin makes people feel like two day old warmed over poo afterwards and messes up their lives. Thank God that He forgives and keeps standing His people back up to keep going toward the prize.

I knew and still know there is something missing in my christian life, I have had many problems and challenges and have kept failing and failing and now am scared of them because i feel weak and unable to beat them.

The Apostle Paul has some words of wisdom about weakness:
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Paul understood that it took God's grace to make him what He wanted him to be, and that the Lord through His power could make him what he needed to be. It's never about how strong we are; it's about how great He is!!

I will pray that you will come to real repentance and faith, and walk in newness of life, but unless you walk the crucified life, you will be defeated, and please remember the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God, and while you still have a breath, repent and seek His mercy!

Thus a real crucified convert will look like this:
Walking in newness of life!

Departed from iniquity!
Obedient to the truth!
Loving not the world!
Loving neighbor as self!
Putting God first and foremost!
Abstaining from all forms of evil!
Lover of the truth!
Contending earnestly for the pure word!(truth)
Keeping himself undefiled and unspotted from the world!
Guarding his heart above all things!
An overcomer through the blood of Christ!
Living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age!
Having no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness!
Departing or departed from the lukewarm church who promotes the lie! (Saved IN sin, Romans wretch, chief of sinners, faith alone, substitution aka imputation, OSAS, etc).
A doer of God’s word and not a hearer only!

Jesus said,
Joh 8:51 Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keeps My Word, he shall never see death.
Joh 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

Blain...how ya doing? :)

I pray those feelings of shame have been hit hard with the ban hammer, and banished far, far away. :)
To us in Christ, if the Holy Spirit convicts us of anything, forgiveness is already ours!! :D (sorry, I get a little excited because that's just SO. amazingly. awesome.)

And it occurred to me as I was praying for you yesterday that we seek the Lord. :)
Sometimes the Lord wants us to look into a particular facet of His character (like wisdom :) ), but imagine if I got stuck seeking only His wisdom?
I would miss out on His understanding, and His grace, and His mercy, and His holiness, and His justice, and His love....well, you get that picture. :)

So...(and this is just a guess) maybe it was time for you to move to something else for a while? :)
For we seek Jesus ( ♥ ), and as long as we are doing that, we are doing well as His disciples.
Because I don't for one moment believe you ever stopped seeking Jesus.
His faithfulness to you just won't allow that to go on for long. :)

Still praying for you, and still loving you,
ellie

You need to talk to your church pastor so that he can help you overcome your situation now. You need counselling.
