I just got home from the surgery.
Besides the pain I am well. there were no complications or issues.. Just typical german docs dont give you any good painkillers. I am very exhausted but I am sure it will be well. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

The pain is just so cruel.. that one nurse... you would have killed him. First I got a ibuprofen and as that didnt work another guy came (the bad nurse) and asked me how I was and I told him Im in pain and I was crying.. thats how bad it was.. and he goes: tough luck you just got a ibuprofen you gotta wait.. So after he left anotehr came in and finally put me on the IV with some Novalgin that got it down to the point that I can take it

That sounds awful! smh IB is no good for that type of pain. At the very least you should have been given Tylenol 3 with Codeine. Make sure they keep you regular on the meds so pain doesn't build up. Your mom or whoever is with you needs to make sure you get meds on time.

I don't know how it is there, but here, your Mom could be back from a medical supply store in less than an hour with the chilled-water cuff. I think you can even simply rent them if you don't want to buy one. All you do is dump ice cubes into a water reservoir.

You dont get chilled water cuffs here. Hard to believe but most things here are stone hedge. All I can do is possibly put cool packs on it which I did and it made the pain worse because it made the nerves go wild

Yes, it will.... for about 5-8 minutes, then the cold deadens the nerves. The trick is to KEEP it cold... all the time.

I had it on there for about 20 mins. It got worse and worse. that could be because I have fibromyalgia though. My nerves react really bad to cold and keep it up.

When I had my total hysterectomy back in 2010, they gave me narcotics for pain. I had minimal pain, so I settled for ibuprofen instead. I don't like taking narcotics unless I absolutely have to. Agonizing pain like I had with my herniated disk and sciatica, required Robaxin and Dilaudid. Even THAT didn't help and Dilaudid is VERY strong..

Here they wouldnt even give you that. You are very lucky if they give you IB or Novalgin. Theyll rather give you nothing or a anti depressant (even sometimes a Vomex) but never a actural pain med. Not even tylenol!

I feel your pain, Demi. I truly do. Just give thanks to God for it, and it WILL pass. Try heat on it, heat loosens up the muscles.. :)

WARNING: Seriously, do not put heat on damaged tissue. Do not. Heat is great after you are well on your way to healing, but not right after surgery.

I was just thinking.. im not sure if thats a good idea.. But now that you say that yea your right. It may get things bleeding inside and make it harder to heal and make things worse. Ill just let it rest without hot or cold lol. They did put heat on it thou because they cut off the blood to the leg.. idk what to think.. Ill just leave it alone
