I was just thinking.. im not sure if thats a good idea.. But now that you say that yea your right. It may get things bleeding inside and make it harder to heal and make things worse. Ill just let it rest without hot or cold lol. They did put heat on it thou because they cut off the blood to the leg.. idk what to think.. Ill just leave it alone
Icing inflamed or injured tissues helps by limiting the leakage of blood and serum from the capillaries into the adjacent tissues. Ice also prevents swelling. In contrast, heating tissues causes the capillaries to widen. This widening can cause an increase in the leakage of blood from the capillaries and add to the swelling and pain. It is important to note that the blood that leaks into the tissues will later lead to inflammation, which slows the healing process.

Right now Im trying to figure out what pain med is working best. ( which takes a while because I gotta watch time )

And I will repeat in again in Chinese and Swahili if it keeps you from even thinking of putting heat on damaged tissue.

I'd say Tylenol 3 will help. My moms a nurse. If you keep taking that at regular times it should cut the pain.

I've had both knees operated on. No pain medication, and no pain unless I let the water in my cold-water cuff get up to around 50° F.

I haven't been under a scalpel yet. So I'm no expert.

Ibuprofen is good for muscular pain / swellings. In Norway most doctors and nurses advice you take 1 ibuprofen + 1 paracetamol, and then take it whatever amount of times during a day the package says (four?).

That being said, that is intended for weak to moderate pain, not blinding, nauseating pain :p

I hope you find some meds that work well for you

Well, unless you are having a replacement, patella scraping, or something like that, knee surgery really isn't that invasive anymore. I had meniscus repairs.
