Enjoy your ban. God bless you!
I am not a fan of Stephens, either. But here you are a new member threatening a member of 7 years with a ban. Meanwhile you are being condescending and rude while complaining about how others act. I am not seeing you act any better.

Here's some useful info for you. The majority of all reports against other users are ignored because they do not qualify as valid reports, it's mostly petty reports of people having disagreements and people doing the same to one another.

If you ever want to share praises, I like listening to praises.
There is a Forum section called Testimonies.
And there is one called Prayer Requests.

Also, the Bible Discussion Forum has all kinds of people browsing and commenting over time.
The world is full of imperfect people, so expect an imperfect forum in any place.
The halls of religion are where Paul did most of his preaching. He did it for Christ.
However, others did it for imperfect motives. Philippians addresses this.
Apostle Paul stated there, that the important matter is Christ being preached.
While people may/will get on a soapbox of disagreement, or hunt to make converts of his or her theology,
the take-home prayer is that, somehow, God will work our imperfections out for his Good.
I am sorry that there is discord, or tension, but don't write off someone because a few interactions.
Imagine if God did that!

I don't have to threaten anyone with a ban. He's doing it to himself.

Stephen you're a senior member here. Why don't you try acting like it instead of acting like this? Or is this how we are supposed to act here?
You sockpuppets are gonna have to change your strategy..... that is sooo 2 years ago.:p
I've got a great idea for both of you....why don't you both grow up?!?! Start acting in a manner that the bible instructs us too which is in a loving manner instead of strife and condemnation.

Btw, this attitude takes me back to high school and was annoying back then, you don't want to know what it looks like now

I looked up "sock puppet."
I roughly guessed the first two items.
But the 3rd one I did not know was a definition/example.
...Interesting.

  • A simple puppet made from a sock placed over the hand of the puppeteer.
  • n. A person being completely controlled by another.
  • n. A pseudonym used by someone to distance themselves from their actions, especially to talk about themselves in the guise of a neutral observer

I remember a report was made that someone was not a christian.

As it was a theological disagreement, and the reporting group felt they were true
christians and all those who disagreed should be expelled it got a little confusing.

Sometime emotionally people loose it.
What is often the case is people are experts at winding people up, and it can be
hard to keep ones cool.

But have a family with active kids and you soon realise what life is like.

And this is kids stuff. No one is dying and the stakes are am I being listened
to so mainly ego stuff. I am truly grateful for this, so over time reality has
to dawn, as far as it can.

Hyper Grace:

I don't care what gets debated, but if the mods have disallowed the topic,
then people should be able to simply FLAG and REPORT discussions that are disallowed.

If mods have created a means to deal with an issue, then you should take advantage of that means:
1. If it's disallowed on the forum, you can REPORT it.
2. You should report only posts that CLEARLY SHOW a GOOD EXAMPLE of the issue.
3. You should make any necessary notes in your report, to clarify what has been said, and show correlations.
4. You should include links to similar comments by the same person.

* We shouldn't expect the mods to do our homework for us, they don't have much time.

* If this topic IS disallowed, and reports are NOT effective... then it all needs to be reexamined.

Perhaps you're right. Maybe this forums isn't for me. I came here to share in a positive message but obviously this is the wrong place for that.

Two words I've always dreamed about hearing. kidding.

All I was saying is try a different approach because it comes across argumentative and if someone wants to start something, just walk away. Like, I got a message last week that was downright hateful and they were looking for a fight. I didn't respond because I wasn't in a place as i was dealing with personal issues and it would have created a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be.

For the record, I don't want to see anyone go

oh

so if I report something they will come? didn't know I had their 'ear' :p

look Stephen, we have had words and then we kind of cleared the air and it was all good and I saw you had a decent sense of humor and I actually like you (and don't take that the wrong way haha not that I think you will...anyway...)

I think you may be the one who needs to check their motivation

I think we are each responsible for the atmosphere we create and each INDIVIDUAL needs to keep themself in check

I try to lighten up threads with a little humor from time to time while saying what I think is true

no one died here, it's a forum...you should lighten up a little

has anything but dissension been achieved up until now?

I have no motivation other than less fighting...no puppy in this fight as they say, and not taking sides

that's how I see it
Since the hard line didn't sway me, you ought to know the soft line won't either.

Am I getting bitter? That's a strong possibility. SEVERAL before me have fought this, & each one got bitter & banned.

They were good members, too..... decent people who loved God & their Bible. But those that didn't care banned them for arguing with the PACK. After all, the PACK reported them several times, & it's just easier to sway with the majority.

Since this issue of hypergrace has been debated, do you know how many has been banned on the PACK's side? Not a one, even though several have been verbally warned. The decent side? Quite a few. That's one of the reasons people are leaving.

Now you know why I feel this way.

A small handful of members in the BDF are being treated like DOGS every day..... while those in high places turn a blind eye. They don't have time..... they're busy. That's what I keep hearing.

You see, I went thru protocal..... going up each level to explain this..... And here I am, emptyhanded.

And as you can see with this AWFUL OP I posted, gone for broke, pull out all stops..... I'm still empty handed.
:(

A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term, a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock, originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an Internet community who spoke to, or about, themselves while pretending to be another person.[SUP][1][/SUP] The term now includes other misleading uses of online identities, such as those created to praise, defend or support a person or organization,[SUP][2][/SUP] to manipulate public opinion,[SUP][3][/SUP] or to circumvent a suspension or ban from a website. A significant difference between the use of a pseudonym[SUP][4][/SUP] and the creation of a sockpuppet is that the sockpuppet poses as an independent third-party unaffiliated with the puppeteer. Many online communities attempt to block sockpuppets.

Figure out HOW to report it when they label it "grace"

So at what point did I become a sock puppet for any form of grace. I don't care about debating grace of hypergrace with you. I just pray you and everyone else would stop so I could learn something. Which was my intended purpose on coming here. But nothing can be learned here becuz of the constant no you're wrong I'm right debating. How can one learn anything when everything is quoted. In some cases out of the context in which the bible intended.
And how is this account according in your definition a false identity? This is my one and only account on Steven.

Figure out HOW to report it when they label it "grace"

Figuring out HOW to explain something with an erroneous label is the burden of the person making the report... IF you want to create a report that is actually clear and understood by the mods.

(If we try to make this the burden of the mods, well, they simply don't have time.)

1. A "label" is irrelevant if the underlying arguments show something contrary to that label.

2. It would then be YOUR job to assess the underlying argument, parse it out, and explain it in your report.

3. Parse and Explain:

A. If you are NOT able to parse and explain the underlying argument, then how can you be sure it's really an argument about hyper grace?
B. But if you ARE able to parse it out and explain it, then surely you can put this explanation in your report.

THIS is what's happening in the BDF.....

What blows my mind is that intelligent people don't believe they exists here.

If you wanted to do something like this to sell your book or pull people to your religious website, You wouldn't use the biggest christian website available?

Really?!?
