Lying should be avoided, but we see that Rahab and her family was saved by lying to the enemy. Lying should be the exception, not the rule.
I disagree on this point. Rehab did lie Yes but God saved her because she kept her word not because of how she did it.
Anther point to acknowledge is Rehab was not a follower of God and probably did no know about Gods view of lying.
The scripture clearly speak against lying.
Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 19:9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Pro 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
There are many texts that speak of how much the Lord hates lies.
