There is no question in 1st John 2:24. It is a statement.
Do you have an answer to the question: Should someone who claims to have physical supernatural abilities from the Holy Spirit be challenged to prove their claim? In other words, should we accept the Mormon church apostles as from God because of their claims or should they be challenged. Mormons believe to challenge the claims is to show disbelief in God.
Let's reiterate what they are saying about this "Holy Spirit". They are claiming to receive the sign of tongues by seeking to receive the Holy Spirit SEPARATE from their salvation, even though Romans 8:9 & 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 as a lie.
Some will say that it is another baptism with the Holy Ghost with evidence of tongues, even though Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Corinthians 12:13, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 and still 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 exposes that to be a lie also.
Then there is the "holy laughter" movement, the Toronto's Blessings, the Pensacola Blessings, "slain in the 'Spirit' ", "drunk in the 'Spirit ' " of which God is not the author of since confusion reigns within in seeking to receive the Holy Spirit "again" apart from salvation.
So in spite of all those signs, if gained by the lie of receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation, it is not of Him.
2 Thessalonians 2:[SUP]13 [/SUP]But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning
chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP]1

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
So when I read this below:
1 John 2:[SUP]24 [/SUP]
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
These wayward sign seeking believers are NOT abiding in Him as they were in the beginning because by their hypocritical work of claiming to receiving Him again apart from salvation even by a sign of tongues when tongues were never to serve as a sign to already saved believers about anything, ( 1 Corinthians 14:20-22 ) they are NOT abiding in Him as they were in the beginning.
So even though they deny Him by that iniquity, He still abides, but unless they repent, He will deny them at the Marriage Supper to be received later on after the great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House.
Anyone claiming a good work by this iniquity that they think they are receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation, ARE NOT abiding in Him as they were from the beginning.
Matthew 7:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?[SUP] 23 [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:[SUP] 25 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.[SUP] 26 [/SUP]And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:[SUP]27 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
That is why saved believers fall backwards in these movements of the "Spirit" when they deny Jesus Christ is in them and cannot be received again apart from salvation when the forever abiding Holy Spirit is a Witness in us that we are saved.
Hebrews 10:[SUP]12 [/SUP]But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;[SUP]13 [/SUP]From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us:
