Please read it again. Nowhere in the bible does it state that adultery is grounds for divorce.
It is Fornication that is the only grounds for divorce.
Adultery is a sin but not a grounds for divorce.
In much of the Bible a person is married, as far as God is concerned, with the person they first have sex with.
That is why it all gets in a mess.
Because people who have sex before marriage are, in the eyes of God, already partnered with another.
This in not the case if rape is involved. There are few verses related to rape but they do exist.
But if a person 'sleeps around' before marriage they are sinful.
I did.
That does not make me any more or less wicked that other people here.
Marriage before God (even though I was an atheist at the time) is what is suuposed to have bound me.
But tbh - the thing that bound me to my wife most was my increased love for her - because I loved Christ and His Father, God.
I saw my wife in a different light - I don't assume any more and don't take for granted - I'm SO SO lucky. btw - she is a babe and I'm a munter
