Without the earth, we'd all be aimlessly floating around in outer space, getting nauseated from the lack of gravity.

And yeah, the whole needing oxygen thing. :p

I'm glad we have an Earth.

I do admit a healthy appreciation of oxygen, however.

There shouldn't have to be an Earth Day, if you understand what I'm saying. There is a Mother's Day, a Father's Day, a Family Day, a Veterans Day, all days of the year set aside to honour people and events. Why should I wait till Mother's Day to appreciate my mother? Should I pretend my human father doesn't exist 364 days out of the year?
I've never understood this argument. Where is it stated that because a day is set aside to honor someone, that that automatically means you can't do it any other time? No one says that. No one implies it. People just don't like the idea, and use this unfounded argument to back up their feelings. But there is no basis whatsoever in this statement. No where does the idea of a holiday suggest that is the only time to honor someone.
