Is it possible that something you, or others, consider to be doctrine (or don't consider to be doctrine) is not recognized in that same manner by all people who consider themselves Christians? And if that's the case, is it up to you to judge them for possibly misinterpreting the bible? Does Jesus teach for you to be the judge of others? Wouldn't it be better to express your
opinion, quote scripture supporting that
opinion, and leave it at that? For example:
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? (Matthew 7)
It seems like there wouldn't be nearly as much angst on CC if people held their discussions in this manner instead of stating what they believe to be true and calling anyone who dares to question that belief (or even discuss it) a heretic. (I'm not saying you do this. But there are plenty of active CC posters who do.)
