Honestly, JB I don't know where you're getting this stuff. Is there a particular preacher or teacher you're herding this stuff from?
Yep, I get it all from a teacher, the Holy Spirit along with God’s word (the bible). To be honest I don't really see the major differences in what we are saying anymore. It seems you have admitted exactly what point I was making in my first comment with this comment "I say that a saved christian is capable of any sin. Habitually, he no longer practices sins on an ongoing basis, but he can still slip up from time to time."
That was my point to start with, that we can't just keep sinning as much as we want, but there was a couple places where I didn't word it the best way, but you just read "Christians CAN'T sin", and "I NEVER said that at all. The closest I came to that was "A Christian can't commit the same sin twice", and I acknowledged that wasn't a correct statement, all I meant was the same sin over, and over, and over. Then once Brian comes in you just start building Straw men like your opening a scarecrow factory, for example this
"What sins do you think a christian can commit and which ones do you think he cannot commit?" I never once said there were sins that Christians Couldn't commit, ever, show me where I said this.
"And who said anything about wanting to? I certainly don't want to. I'm just not buying the idea that it is impossible for a saved person to do this."
Again can you point me where I ever said it was impossible for a Christian to sin? I never made that claim, ever.
This is the last point I never said, the same basic thing, but you keep putting words in my mouth.
"If you agree with that, you disagree with Jim who says christians never fall into sin"
Again SHOW me where I have EVER said this, in my life not just on CC if you can. I guess what I say just makes you very nervous inside and cause’s it to warp my words in your head, but I agree with this fully with this comment “I say that a saved christian is capable of any sin. Habitually, he no longer practices sins on an ongoing basis, but he can still slip up from time to time”, and was my original point, but for whatever reason YOU didn’t read it that way while Brain did. Two people can see it clearly while one is fighting it by warping the argument. Why couldn’t you see what I was saying? I don’t know, that’s a question for yourself.
