I ask you all again, what did he mean when he said "judge not less ye be judged"? it couldn't mean judging sin, could it? it had to mean judging a man's worth in cash. it's the only thing it could mean
John 7:24 shows that your view on that is 100% incorrect... For the verse you are referring to is talking about the pharisees who judged other peoples righteousness on physical things... Which you are suggesting we do...

If these business tycoons, drug lords, bankers, rock stars are worth so much.... how come the world barely hiccups when they pass away? oh sure, we see some line up to pay respects or a moment of silence here or there etc.. but life and the world keeps right on going for the rest of us. stop this silly idol worship.

This will be my last reply because I have to be at work in 20 minutes... But I suggest you read John 7:24 and try to fit your view in that verse...

Spoiler alert: you can not put, we have to judge people off of their cash....

I hope that was rhetorical when you said that... If not I highly suggest you put aside your world views and interpretations of the bible, and just read it as a child... Sometimes we can over read the bible and get a meaning that was never there...

An interesting thing about making a thread with the word Obama in it, is that so many reply with non-germane, knee jerk, highly emotional rants which project the chip they have on their shoulder about Obama.

I could make a thread titled...Obama, green jello, snowballs, and feathers......

And people will reply with rants about socialism..nwo...birth certificate..you name it!

that's good T. I'll take the last one. don't judge all your priests, lawyers, politicians, judges, by their appearance of righteousness but by their true selves.

I was wondering where you had gone. I wasn't even thinking about Obama when I responded to you, I was focusing on education. This thread has gone all over the place:p

Alumni?

Why did the Obama Administration choose to build Healthcare.gov when there was already perfectly functioning code that was offered to be licensed by the private sector to manage the exchange?

eHealth.com in 2009 offered to privately license their software that provides the exact same functionality that healthcare.gov is supposed to perform to the Obama administration back in 2009.

The administration instead decided to gamble with US tax dollars and build a new system (that does not yet work) from scratch for the overpriced sum of $678 Million, when eHealth Insurance was able to construct their fully functioning health insurance system for less than their original 32 Million dollar funding back in 2001.

Why take the gamble? Well it turns out that it's is a small world after...

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website. Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company. Toni Townes-Whitley, and her Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Prince Toni Townes ’85, is a onetime policy analyst with the General Accounting Office and previously served in the Peace Corps in Gabon, West Africa. Her decision to return to work, as an African-American woman, after six years of raising kids was applauded by a Princeton alumni publication in 1998.

George Schindler, the president for U.S. and Canada of the Canadian-based CGI Group, CGI Federal’s parent company, became an Obama 2012 campaign donor after his company gained the Obamacare website contract. As reported by the Washington Examiner in early October, the Department of Health and Human Services reviewed only CGI’s bid for the Obamacare account. CGI was one of 16 companies qualified under the Bush administration to provide certain techservices to the federal government. A senior vice president for the company testified this week before The House Committee on Energy and Commerce that four companies submitted bids, but did not
explain why only CGI’s bid was considered. On the government end, construction of the disastrous Healthcare.gov website was overseen by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a division of longtime failed website-builder Kathleen Sebelius’ Department of Health and Human Services.

Re: Alumni?

Nothing new for the Obamas. Go back and read their college history, Chicago history, political history, etc. It's all the same - pay to play. All of their dealings are so intermingled with friends, family and associates it's enough to boggle the mind.

And these are our representatives to the world. Great!:(

There's a lot of talk about why some outright reject Obama in America.
Much is said about race/racism.
There is the obvious rejection due to social issues like gay marriage, abortion.

But one aspect of why he's rejected isn't discussed much.

I think some of it comes down to a rift between those who have "the fancy college education/book learning", and those who don't think they need all of that learnin.

I say this because of a comedy skit I saw at the country awards with Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

They were giggling at how Obamacare doesn't work, how the website is broke, etc. etc.

The tone of their laughter wasn't one of..Oh goodness I can't stand Democrats. It wasn't even about despising government control.

The tone of their laughter was more like... Oh goodness, that fancy pants know it all college boy can't even get a website to work.

Now maybe I read too much into their tone, but I found it a unique reason for the rejection of Obama.

Is there a rift between those who don't think you need that fancy book learning, and those who do think you need that fancy book learning? What if that's a main motivator for who gets the vote? What if that's why Romney didn't get the base to really come out? Maybe he seemed just as stuff suited as Obama? What if it had nothing to do with his Mormonism or double talk at all?
I'm always surprised at how threads appear .......... first time I've seen thissin' :)

Couple of thoughts........

1) The idea you raise is one that is not new.......especially among the Liberal Elite in our Nation. They have pretty much always believed that they are far more intellectually superior to anyone on the conservative right, and ANYONE professing to be Christian. I suppose they could point to the fact that the Liberal Elitist who control almost all of our Public Education System have systematically imposed their ideology throughout said System as evidence of support. What you witnessed on that Awards Show was "sarcastic wit." See, we'uns heah in the Suthern States pertends to be jest as stupid as them Elitist thinks we is.........jest to see them squirm all arounds when they gets that tinglin' up their legs 'n' sech listenin' to Obama talking. Liberal snobbery has never been more evident or more on display than with the passage of the Affordable Health Care Act. Just remember all those Elitists have told us about it...........and especially how they have let we'uns not nearly so larned as thems know that we'uns will jest love to death this Act of thirn' onst we get to know what all it is........Shoot, after all, they know much better what is bestest fer us'ins..........cause we'uns is jest to dern stupid to make our own decisions......

2) There are far more Liberals/Democrats who do not have a College Education than folks would have us believe. There are far more Conservative/Christians who do have a College Education than folks would have us believe. My Papaw once said: "Send a Demercrat to College 'n' all you ends up with is an edicated idiot. Iffin they had to go out and work a real job, they'd jest keel over 'n' die." :)

As with a lot of things, there is always some truth in both views, but far more "spin" in my opinion.
