Speaking of the wicked I always loved this verse, I recall the first time it dawned on me this is what the wicked do, its their words that lie in wait for others in this manner
Prov 12:6a The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood:
Isaiah 29:21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
Jerm 5:26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
And we in Christ this very thing
Luke 11:54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
Like little stalkers
Mat 22:15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
Then if you repeat proverbs again and add the last verse in you can even see our Lord as the mouth of the upright
Prov 12:6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood:
but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
And we know that
good and upright is the Lord, who says,
Luke 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Even shown in Stephen
Acts 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
Showing the mouth he would give them would be the spirit by which he spake
Which seems to indicate he would deliver them from their mouths
His words are truly amazing just as He is
