Is there a good book you can recommend that addresses Islam versus Christianity? I was looking at "Answering Islam: The Crescent in Light of the Cross" by Geisler and Saleeb because I have liked articles I've read by Geisler in the past, but many of the reviews say that it does not paint an accurate picture of Islam. I am sure I will have more specific questions later, but right now I am looking for a good, broad overview. Shukran. (^_^)

Christian Prince. he is one i learnt very much from, his knowledge on islam almost knows no bound lol. he has a book titled the Deception of Allah.
also Walid Shoebat. very good expository preacher on the bible, not only on islam. so his is more balanced. :)
both have made many videos on youtube, but some of them had been blocked thanks to the flagging of upset muhammadan and the 'fair' youtube admin.

Christian: why do you accept Jesus as a prophet but his followers infidels?
Muslim: why do you worship a man who you think is God?
Jew: why did you guys rip off from my religion and added things after the mosaic law?

I just realized...this forum description for a group who are Muslim. Wouldn't that make this a Muslim chat not Christian chat if we had Muslims just talking on here cuz it says it's for either Muslims, former Muslim, or from Muslim country? I don't see a indigenous forum lol.....cuz that to is both a belief and culture and language of their own :p

Who does Islam teach that Jesus was? "Just" a prophet? or something more?
(What is the reason why they reject Jesus as their savior?)

Not really. Former Muslim doesn't specifically mean an arabic speaker. People from Muslim countries also doesn't mean all are muslims or arabic speaker, for example myself although not ruled by Sharia but still more than 85% professed to be Muslims and most don't speak arabic. lol that's my understanding though
But still this is nice forum to have, to discuss Christianity from other perspective.

Kinda mixed though, we have been discussing it in the other thread, feel free to jump in. :)

The question why Islam rejects him as a savior, first and foremost, because quran said he didn't die. But it was made appeared to the Jews that the one who died looked similar to Jesus lol making allah is the one who deceived the Jews and Christians.

for your information, in Indonesia, Muslims always differ on which date is the first day to start Ramadan. lol
and this has been going on for decades.

which one is confusing?
the other thread in general. There seems to be many differeing opinions on how to interpret the texts (but then again there is with the bible too)

There are only one differing opinion (which made 2 opinions on the thread) i believe, but I did give my evidence why I think the opposite idea was wrong (even to the point of silly), historically and supported by most renowned muslim scholars in the muslim world, even to muhammad's cousin himself.
so you can judge and choose. don't have to be confuse.

Approximately how many Muslims exist in the world?

short wikipedia search will give you number of 1,6 billion.
but no sure number knows since they do kill each other (different branch of sects), but also breed many children. win converts, but also lose apostates (although most apostates are jailed (to be converted back to islam forcefully) or killed). so it's a very hard question you post. lol
