Yes..Crowder who you mentioned in this thread was definitely a bit extreme when he was younger..lol

He has some good things to say and some not..I don't throw people out with the dirty water.... I find when I do that..I lose things that the Lord wants to teach me..all of us in the Body of Christ have a purpose..

but talking about loving him...well I have to love him..so do you...it's in the bible..just like you love me too..:)

No doubt to find the video, but I've known about Crowder for years. Didn't know about the connection between Hyper-GreasyGrace and the Emergent mvmt, though, until GreasyGrace777 fell in love with him. Now it all makes sense.

Gnostics don't believe they need grace.
Irenaeus was taught the faith by Polycarp who was taught the faith by the apostle John.

Irenaeus in Against Heresies about what the gnostics of his day believed

For they [gnostics] declare that we [believers] simply receive grace for use, wherefore also it will again be taken away from us; but that they themselves have grace as their own special possession, which has descended from above by means of an unspeakable and indescribable conjunction; and on this account more will be given them.

Iranaeus got some stuff right, and some stuff wrong. You are using the same logic that the RCC uses to claim to be the bastion of truth. Problem is that much error had entered into the church even while the Apostles were still living. Hence the apostles writings refuting those errors that had already started to creep in. The writings of the early so-called church fathers are not authoritative, inerrant, holy scripture, and should not be considered as such.

The Gnostics thought they deserved grace, and grace that is deserved, isn't grace.

Brown also was instrumental in the Brownsville outpouring, or Pensacola Revival, or whatever it was called. And he thought it was the real deal, so I take what he says with a grain of salt.
I moved to pensacola for the revival.
Both my girls were changed forever.
I thank God to this day for that awesome move of God.

We used to stand at the door and watch people come out,so moved that they could barely walk.
The anointing was so thick with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit,it was like it hit you in the face when you walked into the ssanctuary.

It was an awesome,awesome time.

Dr Brown was there and started the school of ministry. Don wilkerson,Daves brother, came several times and pleaded with Dave to give it a second look (he despised the brownsville revival at first).
Eventually Dave wilkerson came on board and gave it his blessing.

The revival was destroyed by the hand of Man. I watched it happen. Steve left, and Mike was forced out practically the next day.
They took over the school and it failed,as did the revival.

Willie..I think that doctrine of the Father turning His back on Jesus is a terrible one..it undermines what happened at the cross in my view..It skews our view of the Father...I cringe when I hear Prince say that..

I cringe too.

But that is what God thinks of sin.
My God My God why have you forsaken me.

Jesus suffered the spiritual death we all deserve..

Truthfully? I disagree with my own preacher on many things. And I even find some things I don't go along with in the Vineyard SOF. But it is like our country and president, in that respect...... I mean, where are ya gonna go that is any better? I ain't seen none in 70 long years.
Ahh you go to the vineyard?

Your attacks are not very christlike..

What ever happened to discussing the word?

I have yet to hear Grace777x70 teach anything emergent.

Sadly I think you have fallen for looking fr keywords, and when you hear one, or a name, you think they know what they teach..

This is not the way to discern things, this is the way to misinterpret what your seeing and make mistakes..

You were there, you know this as fact?

Is this scripture your posting?

And you know they spoke the truth??

Irenaeus was there to describe what he witnessed and you weren't. How can you say he "got some things wrong".

People that know grace isn't deserved know that because they know they're sinful. That is the antithesis of the Emergent mvmt, in which the idea of Hyper-GreasyGrace finds a welcome home.

The Father was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. He had sin put on Jesus for our sakes. All sin was placed on Jesus..which is why all judgment came on Him as well.

The My God, My God was the Son of Man in Him identifying with us when sin came on Him. Like us, He felt the feeling of separation and guilt and being left alone..forsaken by God...but it wasn't true..He was just "voicing" what we as humanity cry out.

But Jesus came back to the Son of God at the end and said..Father..forgive them..into Your hands I commit My spirit...beautiful picture of our Lord's love for us and the Father staying with Him through it all.

I cringe too.

Do you ever take the time to read and understand a post before you respond? I provided all information that is necessary. What part of it didn't you understand?

Here is a brief description for those who don't know what Hyper-Grace is:

The term hyper-grace has been used to describe a new wave of teaching that emphasizes the grace of God to the exclusion of other vital teachings such as repentance and confession of sin. Hyper-grace teachers maintain that all sin, past, present, and future, has already been forgiven, so there is no need for a believer to ever confess it. Hyper-grace teaching says that, when God looks at us, He sees only a holy and righteous people. The conclusion of hyper-grace teaching is that we are not bound by Jesus’ teaching, even as we are not under the Law; that believers are not responsible for their sin; and that anyone who disagrees is a pharisaical legalist. In short, hyper-grace teachers “pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality

I know many of us tend to not read links especially long ones, but seriously, if we want to know what is really being said by each other., the time must be taken to read. What else are we hear for but to sit down.. 'come let us reason together'

I know many of you here on CC who are against this idea of hyper-grace and you are all reasonable awesome Christians. Any reasonable Christian would turn from what you posted here Ahwatukee about the brief description of those who don't know what Hyper-Grace is; I certainly would too. But that is not describing what I believe or any of those who I'm in agreement with here.

But if we don't take the time to actually read what is being said we will not come to any understanding., The article is excellent and touches on so many of the points you mentioned here Ahwatukee and the issues so many believers are concerned about but without really listening to what is being said., you will for sure run off yelling "HERETICAL!! RUN FROM THIS MESSAGE FROM HELL"

I would encourage each of us to read what the other posts so that we don't run off with only half an answer and for sure., if you don't hear the rest you don't hear the whole.

Nothing wrong with that, If people say they are real good. I may look at them, but I do not have time usually. To busy doing otherwise.

Buddy or not. If you see someone acting unchristlike, you need to be a good disciple and confront them.

You do not excuse their sin, I have people that do that for me, I asked them too.

I read the book of Mormon when I was discussing the word with a Mormon, We can not discuss things if we do not know what a person believes..
