1 Thes. 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
I seen some ask why do we pray if God knows all our needs?
Yet many scriptures call us to pray.

We pray, so that we are always in Jesus, all always given with praise and thanksgivng.
To set one's needs before God.
To intercede for another, that God shall be glorified.
To keep one from looking to flesh, instead giving all thought over to God.
To glorify God!
To praise God!
To be ever presant before God in Jesus.
Because we are asked to.
Because we love Jesus, God Our Father.

Why do you believe we pray?
And why without ceasing?

in Jesus, God bless.

Hi pickles. Yes we pray for all the reasons you gave. Also so that God can prepare our heart for what we will receive. He want to see that we have a true godly desire for what we are asking for. So we ask for things in sincerity.

The persistent widow
the neighbor who come for bread,
to give continual thanks.

I love the three loaves bread parable most

Also

Let your requests be known unto God thru pray and supplication with all thanks giving and the peace of God will guard your hearts and mind thru Christ Jesus.

You have not cause you ask not or you ask amiss

In prayer, believing, you will receive

to maintain personal relationship :)

I think it is worth mentioning that, when we pray, we should keep our hearts & ears open just in case God decides He wants to back talk to us. It's hard to have a meaningful conversation when one person insists on doing all the talking. *lol*

Keep the great posts coming Pickles.
God bless you sis!

all the reasons given above. :)

Personally my main reason is to spend time with Our Heavenly Father and learn His will and be in the presence of His love and peace. If you don't spend time with people the relationship grows distant and the world changes so much that we to constantly pray to understand.

I love all your answers, and believe all said this in their own words.
All speaks to coming closer in Jesus to God.
This scripture speaks to praying unceasingly.
It speaks to this because we do war with the flesh, and prayer is the weapon of chioce. :)
How many times each day do we find ourslelves slipping, some cursing the driver that cut one off, another growing impatient with another.
The battle of thoughts, or simply wanting to console ones self with eating, shopping or any other worldly satisfaction.
Constant prayer brings all that is the salvation of Jesus to ones mind. heart and soul in love for God Our Father.
When one instead of looking to or letting flesh take ones attention, givng the need to a praise, psalm or prayer, this brings all that is God's power, protection and presance into that piece of flesh, transforming it unto the Lord.
Praying unceasingly is Gods gift that glorifies.
It is removing that which was the flesh or world, and givng it in Jesus to God Our Father!
So that all shall be made perfect by His presance in that need.
How great and glorious is God, that in Jesus, ones prayers to God bring both His gifts and glory!

Thankyou guys for your responces. :)
All is praise!

God bless.
