Matthew 26:28, Hebrews 8:13, Jeremiah 31:31-32, Hebrews 12:18-24, Romans 10:4, Galatians 3:24-25, Ephesians 2:13-16, etc etc etc

Hebrews 8:6
But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which He is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
Heb 8:13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

What had become "new covenant" was for the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Show me scripture that the gentiles have received a different "new covenant".

Deuteronomy 29:14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
Deuteronomy 29:15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:

Why is the New Covenant for the House of Israel and House of Judah? Why was the Holy Spirit given on Shavuot on the very same anniversary the Old Covenant?

The Holy Spirit was given so that you would be empowered to accept your calling to want to obey.

But instead, you Gentile Christians who say you are not sons of Jacob are rebellious, which is to say same as witchcraft.

1 Samuel_15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. <-- double meaning

Revelation_5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Mat 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Mal_3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

The New Covenant has the gift of the Helper/Comforter/Holy Spirit to guide us to truth.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Psalms _119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Daniel 9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

So you say "none of this applies to the church".

Laws Concerning Divorce
Deu 24:1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
Deu 24:2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.
Deu 24:3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
Deu 24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Released from the Law concerning divorce and remarriage
Rom 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Rom 7:2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
Rom 7:3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

So you say "none of this applies to the church".

One in Christ
Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Deuteronomy 29:14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
Deuteronomy 29:15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:

Jer_32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

Dan_9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

Joh_11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

So you say "none of this applies to the church".

So where is the Gentiles New Covenant if none of this applies? No longer is the Covenant for just Jacob and the children of Israel, but Yeshua's purpose was so that the WHOLE WORLD can be ONE.

But you say "none of this applies to the church"

Heb 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

So you say "none of this applies to the church".
Not sure what is going on here, but most likely ALL of the beginning Church Pentecost "receivers" were of the house of Israel or proselytes to Judaism.

Gentiles came later. This is very clear in Acts, where the progress of the spread of the gospel is recorded.

Act 10:44
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Act 10:45
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 10:46
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Act 11:17
Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
Act 11:18
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Eph 3:6
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Ezekiel_20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Good grief those verses pertain to Israel ALONE and the Mosaic covenant.

And this covenant is utterly made obsolete by the new.

Not sure what is going on here
hej der, bro

in a nutshell:

We are talking about the parable of the 10 virgins, 5 with oil and 5 without. @Grace911 suggests that the oil represents sabbath keeping.

i'm sure you can intuit the insinuations of that interpretation :geek:

2 Kings 17:23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day. (In time, the house of Israel migrated away from Assyria, and at that time began to forget who they were and who the LORD was to them.)
2 Kings 17:24 And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Psa 44:11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

Lev_26:33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

Deu_4:27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

Jer_9:16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.

Eze_11:16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

Eze_20:23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

Eze_20:41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

Eze_22:15 And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

Eze_28:25 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

Mat_10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat_15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Eze_36:19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

Deu_30:3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Jer_31:10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations
, H1471, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Matthew 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

Matthew 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Luke 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

Yeshua is Yehovah/YHWH/LORD.

Yehovah does not change. If you take something that is perfect and then diminish that, is it still perfect?

Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Five were wise and five were foolish.

Jeremiah 5:4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Deu_7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Yeshua/Jesus is the LORD of the Old Testament. If you claim to be a follower of Jesus and diminish the THE WORD, then you are the sinner whose iniquity is breaking the Law. Jesus/Yeshua never broke the law and He certainly did not come to "do away with it". It is how we show our love by desiring obedience and thus, reaping the rewards as blessings.

Have you noticed how hard it is to keep up with the world wide castrophies? The birth pangs/contractions are only going to get worse. The WORD is a love letter from our Lord and Saviour/Yeshua. As in the days of Noah, they thought life will always go on as it is. As in the days of Lot, Lot and his wife and two daughters were ushered out of Sodom and Gomorrha and on that day, it all came to burn with brimstone.

Psalms 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

This is a bittersweet story where all 10 bridemaids were prepared to meet the Lord but there was a delay and some became disillusioned and because of their actions they became the foolish.
There was no delay in the story. The foolish did not prepare properly and didn't have enough oil to keep their lamps lit. It's their fault not the bridegroom's fault.

This story takes place during the Tribulation. The time of peace and security is over for Israel. A rebellion and a falling away is taking place. The foolish are saying: Is this the one we seek?? The dealers re the disciples of the antichrist leading some to destruction. The oil these dealers are selling is fuel for the lake of Fire!
Yes, going out during darkness to buy is definitely a reference to buying and selling during the tribulation. The 5 foolish represent those of the Apostasy that abandon Christ and are marked.

Ok I'm a Sabbath keeper, but i believe the 10 Brides were church members of Christian denominations. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. some folk in church even though they appear to be Christians, have not truly given their lives to Christ, which we have to do. The oil or the Holy spirit cannot be given from one to another so even if the virgins wanted to share, they couldn't. It is God who gives. Those who love the Lord and who receive His Spirit are the Brides who may enter the wedding.

They have believed the lie that the Old Covenant is done away with.
You're going to have a hard time convincing us that the Bible is a lie.

Hebrews 8:13
In that He says, "A new covenant" He has made the first obsolete.

Matthew 25:13, 13 “Watch therefore, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Aḏam is coming,"

Matthew 24:37-39, 37 “And as the days of Noaḥ, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be. 38 “For as they were in the days before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noaḥ entered into the ark, Gen 7:7. 39 and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be.

It about being prepared for His return, or for those who pass before being ready during the time they have on earth.

Revelation 3:10, “Because you have guarded My Word of endurance, I also shall guard you from the hour of trial which shall come upon all the world, to try those who dwell on the earth."

Yes, there was a delay

5 As the bridegroom was delayed,
Bad translation. As if the Messiah is late for his own return? No.

No, he "tarried" or waited to return until the correct time to do so.

they never have any at all, imo.

Matthew 25:3
They that [were] foolish took their lamps,
and took no oil with them:
That means they took no extra oil. You had a lamp and you had an oil container. The lamp holds some, the other container is for when the lamp runs out of oil. They had the lamps lit all night, like a nightlight. People later did that same thing but with candles.

Their lamps had a little oil but during the night they went out meaning the oil ran out and the flame died.

Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

The Mormon's have ADDED to the Bible. I recently spoke with two young men from the Mormon church and told them that I believe the LORD forbids adding to His Word. So I remain ever so faithful to the ONE TRUE WORD OF GOD.

these are the foolish ones who The Bridegroom does not know.
do we think they are telling the truth?

if the oil is the Spirit of God - they, foolishly, are trying to get the wise virgins to give it to them, and then they are try to go and buy it.
should I believe their testimony about their own lamps?
