teleios - [from telos meaning 1) end A. termination, the limit at which a thing ceases to be (always of the end of some act or state, but not of the end of a period of time. B. the end 1) the last in any succession or series 2) eternal C. that by which a thing is finished, its, close, issue D. the end to which all things relate, the aim, purpose] brought to its end, finished; wanting nothing necessary to completeness; perfect; that which is perfect; consummate human integrity and virtue; of men, full grown, adult, of full age, mature
So teleios has to do with something reaching it's end, something being finished, needing nothing else for completeness, that which is perfect. We have no problem knowing that a person's sanctification last a lifetime until it is complete. We have no problem knowing that until Christ's return, we will not be perfected (completely mature). But when it comes to these manifestations of the gift of holy spirit being used - we are all of a sudden grown men who should put away childish things. Until we become "perfect", completely mature we see through a glass darkly but when Christ returns we will be fully mature - we will no longer know only in part - we will put away childish things for we will have no need for them . . .
