In Revelation 17:5 we are told the woman that sat upon many waters and the scarlet colored beast had a name written upon her forehead; " MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Many try to confine this MOTHER OF HARLOTS to only the past or only the present day, like a brick and mortar city yet to come called Babylon the great, or the great city of Jerusalem of old. But it takes people to make up a city, and cities don’t commit abominations but rather people do.

Some also say the woman represents the RCC and try to place her in a physical place like Rome, or even in the United States. But if look at all the descriptions concerning where the woman sits, and all the judgements to come upon her then hopefully you will come to see this is not the case.

And though many similitudes are compared to descriptions of Babylon and Jerusalem of old in scripture, and though Rome and the US may be enjoined to this corrupt Harlot system, they just don’t seem to fit all the descriptions, as I will try to show by scripture.

Being the mother of something is like being the origin of, just as I’ll try to show in this study there are actually 2 spiritual mothers who are the origin of all their children. We also know a Harlot in scripture is often shown as one who leaves her first love for another, thereby playing the Harlot just as Israel and her 2 daughters did with the Lord. The Lord said in
Jeremiah 3:20 “Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.”

In Jeremiah chapter 3 the Lord pleads with Israel to return to him, even though she has played the Harlot with many lovers, and has greatly polluted the land with all her abominations. In Ezekiel 23:2 we see she is known as the Mother of 2 daughters that have also played the harlot, and committed
whoredoms throughout the land.

Ezekiel 23:1-4 “
The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:[SUP]3 [/SUP]And they committed
whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.[SUP]4 [/SUP]And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.”

Israel had played the harlot by taking up many of the
false beliefs, false traditions, and false idols of the surrounding nations, and then in turn polluted others with these abominations of her fornication. These 2 daughters of 1 mother Israel that played the harlot are called Aholah, which means his tabernacle, and the other is Aholibah, which means my tabernacle.

So what we see in the Mother of Harlots in Revelation is a
false tabernacle system, or false religious system in bed with the ways of the world, the name “Babylon the great” representing the ways of the world.

This also explains part of the dress of the harlot woman in Revelation 17:4 “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:”

The golden cup in her hand represents the ways of the world, as the golden cup in the OT represented Babylon of old in Jeremiah 51:7Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.”

In the first tabernacle Moses was commanded to build by God we saw the colors blue, purple, and scarlet, and gold; but this woman is adorned with
the ways of the world (Babylonish garment) which represents the merchandise of the world.

Notice the description of the merchandise when Babylon falls in Revelation chapter 18 the merchants weep and mourn over their merchandise in Revelation 18:12The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, …..” And again notice in Revelation 18:16 “And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!”

This
false idol worship of covetousness is also shown in the love of money as written in
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Now we are getting closer to the root of the problem (so to speak), and also notice the wording of “many sorrows” there. Compare to the judgement of the woman in Revelation 18:7 “How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.”

Babylon of old was known as the land of graven images and
false idols, which explains the name on the woman’s forehead “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.” Babylon the great represents the ways of the world such as the lusts and desires of the flesh, false doctrines, false idols, and covetousness etc. Just as Israel, the mother of the 2 harlot daughters had defiled herself with by taking up the false beliefs, false idols, false religions, and traditions of all the surrounding Nations.”

So thus far the spiritual imagery we are seeing in Revelation represents a false religious system in bed with the ways of the world, which explains the last part of the name written on her forehead reads “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

This is symbolized with the harlot being in bed with, or
committing fornication with the kings of the earth in
Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (made drunk with false doctrine, idolatry, traditions etc.)
Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. Revelation 18:9 “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,”

This
fornication that the harlot religious system has committed with the kings of the earth is shown here in James 4:4; "You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that friendship of the world is enmity with God?" Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

This writing on the forehead also symbolizes the way one thinks as well, just as the Lord told Israel in
Jeremiah 3:3 “Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.”

This way of thinking would also be
on, or in the heads of the worldly Beast system, as the woman sat on the 7 heads, which are 7 mountains, which are 7 kings, or Kingdoms. Revelation 17:9-10 “And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.”

Verse 10 proves the woman is not the RCC or the US because the woman will sit on all the 7 heads, and 5 of those Kingdoms had already fallen, and the 6
[SUP]th[/SUP] was present when John received the Revelation so the woman predates both the RCC and the US.

Ok, let me get back to the Mystery of the 2 spiritual mothers I mentioned at the beginning of the study.

Spiritually speaking there are 2 women, which are 2 spirits, and represent the 2 spiritual seeds of both
flesh and Spirit, which are also represented in the 2 Jerusalem’s in Galatians chapter 4. These 2 Jerusalem’s, one earthly and the other heavenly are also shown as “mothers”. The earthly Jerusalem is symbolized in the bond woman and her children; she is the mother of the children of the flesh who are also of the world and in bondage to sin. I believe her name is called wickedness and she is also shown in Zechariah 5:7-8; her children make up the wicked and adulterous generation Jesus spoke of.
It is also written the whole
world lieth in wickednessin
1 John 5:19

In Zechariah 5: 11 we see she is also called “
it” and was to have a house built in the land of Shinar (Shinar is Babylon) note in verse
[SUP] 11 “[/SUP]And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.” Her children are cursed by the curse mentioned to Zechariah 5:4, which curse falls upon all those who swear falsely by the Lords name. = false religion and HYPOCRISY. I believe this curse also includes all those who swear falsely by the God of Abraham, this would include Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.

The other Spirit and woman is called Wisdom,(wisdom is justified of all her children
Luke 7:35) she is shown as the freewoman in Galatians 4:23 and as the heavenly Jerusalem and the “mother” of all those who are born of God’s Holy Spirit and seed of promise in Jesus Christ. God’s people are referred to as a “holy city” even the “new” Jerusalem being the bride of the Lamb.

In Revelation 12:1 we read “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:” We see this woman would give birth to the man child Jesus in verse 5, and she represents the spiritual Israel, not the
natural Israel. For there is an earthy Israel and Jerusalem, as there is a heavenly Israel and Jerusalem. We who are of the heavenly Jerusalem have her name written in our forehead. (
Revelation 3:12)

We know this woman in Rev. 12 is the spiritual Israel because Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and they that are of the remnant of her seed have the testimony of Jesus Christ as shown in verse
[SUP]17 “[/SUP]And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

And we know the
earthly Jerusalem who is the mother of the children of flesh being carnally minded do not have the testimony of Jesus Christ by way of the Holy Spirit.

Now let’s explore who is drunken and guilty of the blood of the saints and prophets, in order that we might better discern that the woman and Mystery Babylon the great is not a brick and mortar city on the map somewhere.

In Revelation 17:5-6 we read;”
And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The
Earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.”

Now some say this woman refers to a brick and mortar city like Jerusalem, but hopefully with some scriptural proof we will see the woman speaks of much more than a certain location on a map, but more of a global spiritually corrupt
worldly system of false religion based on false beliefs of carnally minded men.

To prove the woman is global, and her ways effect the whole earth lets go to Revelation 16:1-6 “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the
earth.
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.”

Here we see the judgment of God’s wrath falls upon the whole earth not just a single city or a limited geographic location, because it is those who are of this
world (and of the spirit of this world) who are guilty of the blood of the saints and prophets, not just the brick and mortar city of Jerusalem.

This can also be proven in Jesus’ words concerning the “
wicked generation”. (or serpents seed) Matthew 23:33-36; “
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.”

First thing notice the Lord calls them a generation of
vipers, which are those who are of the serpents seed, or children of that wicked.

The Lord said in the beginning to the serpent that He would put enmity between the serpents seed (generation of vipers) and the woman’s seed (seed of promise in Christ). The serpents seed are those who are of the flesh, and the woman’s seed are those who are born again of Gods Spirit. That allegory was shown in the 2 separate Jerusalem’s (earthly vs heavenly) and their children in Galatians 4:23; “But he who was of the bond woman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.”

Notice Jesus started with the righteous
blood of Abel; and so who killed Abel, and what seed was Cain of? We are given the answer here in
1 John 3:12; “Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.”

In this we see the Lord didn’t single out any certain small generation like the Jews only, or a small city like Jerusalem as some might understand it. But Jesus foretold of the judgment and wrath that would fall upon a whole
wicked and adulterous generation. This generation of vipers are of their father the Devil, and they are also the ones who have persecuted and killed the saints of the world since the time of Cain, even until now.

So when the judgment and wrath falls on Mystery Babylon, the “great city”, it shall be felt globally, as this can also be confirmed by scripture. When the 7
[SUP]th[/SUP] angel pours out his vial into the air soon thereafter there is an great earthquake
upon the earth.
Revelation 16:19 “And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

If Mystery Babylon the “great city” were a small brick and mortar city, it still would not cause “the
cities of the nations to fall” if it only experienced a localized earthquake. And if that were the case it would also not cause all the merchants of the earth to bewail her falling.
Revelation 18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: Revelation 18:15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,”

So this Mystery Babylon is much more than just a small place on the map, but more of a global religious system of corruption connected to commerce, and in bed with world governments, thereby being corrupted also by the merchandise and the ways of the
world.

So when Jesus spoke of the end of this age in
Luke 21:32 “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” He was speaking to the whole wicked generation ever since iniquity was first found in man until the Lord returns and consumes that Wicked, and iniquity shall have an end.

Now think about this, what is the origin of the 3 main beliefs in this world today? Judaism, Christian, and Muslim faiths are all based upon the single God of Abraham. And like Israel did, they have all gone astray and have corrupted themselves with
man-made beliefs, worldly doctrine, commandments and traditions of carnally
minded men, etc.

This corrupted version of the faith is also shown as the synagogue of Satan,
false tabernacle
or the defiled corrupted church system (Harlot) vs. the True Church who has remained faithful to her Husband (Bride of the Lamb). And this false religious system is of all peoples, nations, and tongues, not just Jews and Christians in a certain geographic location. That is why she sits on, and is carried by a global beast system, on many waters,= (many peoples nations, tongues) as she is also in bed with the kings of the earth. (ways of the world)

So to me this Mystery Babylon is not just a single city on the map, or a single religious denomination, but rather it is spiritual imagery of a global corrupt religious system that has defiled all Nations, peoples, and all tongues. It is this corrupt system that has infected all faiths by
false beliefs, false doctrines, false idols etc. And by being in bed with the ways of the world, she is also doing the same abominations that the rest of the world is also doing.

This is why I believe part of the name written on her forehead reads “AND
ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” This is also why the Lord said; "come out of her my people, and be not a partaker of her sins."

The Lord is not talking about coming out of a small city like Jerusalem, but out of the
wicked ways of the world.

The thing is there is many many more descriptions that need to be taken into account such as these:

1)morn by throwing dust on their heads

(Muslim custom)

2)wears the mark on right arm or forehead

(Exactly where ISIS wears their mark, which happens to mirror Chi Stigma Xi or 666)

3) Mecca is the oil capital of the world

4) all to most terrorists groups come from the Muslims ideology

There is even more than that....

Isaiah 21 mentions the destruction of Babylon, and areas destroyed in that chapter are in Saudi Arabia.

This can not be ancient Babylon or the Babylonian empire because:

1) The physical city is not in Saudi Arabia

2) The empire only held a very small northwestern corner of Saudi Arabia, not the areas mentioned in this chapter

In one way or another, we all have too much "babylon" in us.
I suspect it's best to focus on bringing down our own babylon as best we can, with the understanding that we will never bring it down completely nor even a little bit of our own efforts.

Your mind is leaning solely toward Islam and Muslims, which is in fact a part of the Harlot system. But Like I showed the woman was around long before Islam was even founded. The sign of the merchants like ships in the sea, howling, weeping, etc. is language also used in the OT at the fall of Tyre, by the ships that howl, which represents an economic down fall to come when Babylon falls and the merchants howling.

Revelation 18:19-20 "And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.[SUP]20 [/SUP]Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her."

Merchants are shown as ships howling....

Isaiah 23:1
The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

Isaiah 23:14
Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

The rich of the world will also weep and howl....

James 5 "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.[SUP]2 [/SUP]Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."

Also the Lord said the physical city Babylon of old would fall and not rise again, and it has not, and will not.

The very last verse of Revelation 17 tells us the "woman" of that chapter, the "whore", the Babylon harlot, is a "great city".

The reason the cities of the nations will fall with her, is because she will be the center of control over them.

Mystery Babylon does indeed represent a global false worship in all nations at the end. Ancient Babylon is where false idol worship began, which is why it's a name applies to the whole system of the children of darkness for this present world, which is what the mystery part is about.

In Rev.18 we are told the she says this of herself which also gives the location of what city in the end it is:

Rev 18:77 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, "I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow."
KJV

A queen that says she is not a widow means what? It means she is MARRIED. A "great city" that says she is no widow, meaning she is married?

Where in God's Word does that analogy of marrying a city originate?

Well, it doesn't relate to the city of Babylon in Isaiah 47 where she called herself a "lady" (mistress), and was called "The lady of kingdoms". That's not a claim of a queen that is married ("am no widow") per Mystery Babylon's claim in Rev.18:7.

Here is the city that is declared a "widow":

Lam 1:1-4
1:1 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people how is she become as a widow she that was was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary
2 She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
KJV

That above is about Jerusalem there in Lamentations. She became like a widow when God brought the king of Babylon upon her and took the house of Judah captive to Babylon for 70 years.

But still, where does the symbolic analogy of a city being married come from in God's Word???

Here:

Ezek 16:2-8
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, 'Live'; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, 'Live.'
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread My skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest Mine.
KJV

Then Jerusalem fell into idol worship with the nations and peoples around her, which God then said this about Jerusalem:

Ezek 16:35-38
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
KJV

That Ezek.16 analogy shows God spiritually married Jerusalem when He chose her. The analogy of the queen and widow of Rev.18:7 is also about Jerusalem for the end of this world.

Now then, with that Scripture evidence you've got what's needed to piece together the analogy of the "great city" of Rev.18 saying she sits a queen, and is no widow.

If she is "no widow" it means she is married, but to whom? Not God, for He is pronouncing His judgment upon the Babylon harlot of the Rev.17 & 18. Furthermore, the city of Rev.21 is whom God will marry, the new Jerusalem which will only come after Mystery Babylon is destroyed.

There is another one in God's stead coming to Jerusalem to marry her for the end. That's why she says she is a queen and no widow. That's why the Babylon harlot of Revelation is about Jerusalem, and not any other city.

I don't know if anyone has already spoken of this but babylon in the scriptures is said to be the envy of all nations a powerful and spoiled nation, the untied states is spoiled and many desire to come to the usa for obvious reasons like rights freedom and it is the place of all places to make money and to make a name most of the trades go through the usa. And the stature of liberty is in a great city called new york city which is considered to be the city of cities in the u.s.

Actually the saying in Revelation 18:7 does relate to Isaiah 47

Rev. 18:7 "How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Isaiah 47:1-9 47 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments."

And indeed what became of the geographical city of Babylon which that was God's judgment in past history? It was destroyed! And it STILL TO THIS DAY lays desolate in the desert, and will no more rise as before like God promised for that time.

Yet here we are, the very end of this world is nearly upon us, and Christ is talking about another Babylon for the end that says she is married and is no widow.

The marriage with end time Mystery Babylon is with Jerusalem, not geographical Babylon.

So the temple required per the Daniel "abomination of desolation" prophecy is going to be built in New York city? God's two witnesses of Rev.11 are going to be sent to New York city and not Jerusalem like the Rev.11 Scripture points to?

Every time someone tries to point away from Jerusalem about the end they completely omit those prophecies involving Jerusalem only.

The marriage with end time Mystery Babylon is with Jerusalem, not geographical Babylon.
I didn't say it was geographical Babylon, nor is it geographical Jerusalem as I stated clearly in my OP.....

If Mystery Babylon the “great city” were a small brick and mortar city, it still would not cause “the cities of the nations to fall” if it only experienced a localized earthquake.

So this Mystery Babylon is much more than just a small place on the map, but more of a global religious system of corruption connected to commerce, and in bed with world governments, thereby being corrupted also by the merchandise and the ways of the
world.

If the "mystery" of Babylon the great were talking about the geographic location of Jerusalem today as you suggest the same would hold true. Jerusalem the brick and mortar city could fall today and not cause "the cities of the nations to fall" nor all the merchants of the earth to weep and mourn over her fall.

Also God is calling "his people" the saints out of this corrupt worldly system, not out of the literal brick and mortar city of Jerusalem.

Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Everything about her judgments and plagues effects the whole earth as I also showed in my OP.

When Mystery Babylon falls this world will become like a cage, and the wicked shall not escape.

Revelation 18:2
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

The making of the harlot religious system desolate and naked......

In Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Many believe this
war to be a physical war fought in a certain geographic location off somewhere in the distant future, but the spiritual war for souls has been ongoing for a long time now. The flood prophesied is the flood of persecution and lies that came out of mouth of the serpent (Prince of this world) after Jesus Christ was caught to heaven, and the woman (spiritual Israel) fled into the wilderness as shown in
Revelation 12:15 “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

But this
war on the saints would not only be fought with carnal weapons, but also with spiritual. And it is also prophesied that many of the saints would be overcome and the beast would also prevail against them by this great flood of lies and false doctrine during this time period. And that is what the Lord meant by desolations were determined unto the end of this war, as the Red Dragon and the beast would make war with the saints, and also with the Lamb as is also written.

Prior to the Messiah coming it was all the abominations the children of Israel had done that brought forth the desolation of the temple mount and Jerusalem in 70 AD. And it is much the same with the Gentile age and the world as well; many would be corrupted, and be overcome, and lose their garments and fall away from the faith, thus making them desolate and
naked. We are shown this in
Daniel 9:27 “….and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (God’s wrath is poured)

Being made desolate means they would become unfruitful, or barren of good fruit. As Jesus said we could not bear fruit except we abide in Him (the vine) and in His words. And so many would be overcome by the
spirit of this world, by the cares of this world, by the tribulations of this world and would also fall away.

Just as this being made desolate by the
ways of the world also comes by deception through false teachers as also happened to the children of Israel.
Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.”

And this being made desolate is what we also see in the Harlot in
Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

So those who would fall away by being in bed with
the ways of the world would be made desolate and naked as shown here in
Revelation 3:17 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

Nakedness
in scripture symbolizes having your “sins exposed” like with Adam and Eve. This falling away and nakedness is also shown here in
Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” The sign of the kings of the earth eating the harlots flesh and drinking her blood is the opposite reflection of the saints of God eating the flesh of the Lamb and drinking his blood.

But the harlot’s flesh and blood is
fornication and idolatry through covetousness, and the immoral ways of the world “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”; which also brings forth the wrath of God being poured out on the desolate.
Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This sign of the harlot being made desolate,
naked, burned and eaten was first shown in the false idol the children of Israel had made when Moses went up to the mount. Notice the steps involved after Moses went up to the mount, after the likeness of Jesus being caught up to heavenly mount and to God.

First the children of Israel would corrupt themselves by
false idols
Exodus 32:7 “And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:”

They would then be made
naked for shame
Exodus 32:25 “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies)

And then the
false idol was burned and eaten, or drank
Exodus 32:20 “And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.”

Revelation 17:15 “And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (sea of iniquity= Red Sea)

Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Her
wine (blood) leads to God’s wrath.
Revelation 14:8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Plagues (God’s Wrath) shall be poured out upon the desolate.

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

1 Peter 2:11 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”

A warning to the daughters of Zion, the daughters of the High Priest Jesus Christ. Play not the harlot with the ways of the world.

Leviticus 21:9 “And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.”

Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

Revelation 18:8 “Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.”

Notice what the Lord says here to Jerusalem.....

Ezekiel 16:35-41
Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:[SUP]36 [/SUP]Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy
filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;

[SUP]37 [/SUP]Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.[SUP]38 [/SUP]And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.”

It will be Jerusalem in the last days, under idol worship, for that is where the coming Antichrist/pseudo-Christ is prophesied to appear, and place the "abomination of desolation" idol of the Daniel prophecy. That is why God is sending His two witnesses to Jerusalem per Rev.11:8, and not New York city, nor Rome, nor any other location but Jerusalem at the end. This is the matter in God's Word that you are purposefully leaving out of your exposition, and it's huge matter to be omitting.

The temple is going to be built in Jerusalem and so will the abomanation of desolation happen there however that doesn't decide who is mystery babylon and who the harlot of babylon is unless you think israel is bablyon and the harlot of babylon lies somewhere in Israel?

Oh boy, another misguided soul. :( Don't mean to sound harsh friend, but there is so much error in what you just said above it grieves the Spirit. First off antichrist is a spirit that works in many deceivers, and has already come into the world as is also written. (scripture says the same) The doctrine of "Antichrist" being a single man figure yet to come in the future and sit in a brick and mortar future Temple is false doctrine contrived by carnally minded men.

Also the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel, confirmed by Jesus with the destruction of the Temple, and Daniels 70th week has already been fulfilled. I consider anyone who says the 70th week of Daniel is not fulfilled as a heretic because of what took place in the last 70th week of that prophecy. In the middle of the 70th week Messiah was crucified and the New Covenant was sealed and confirmed in his disciples. So those who reject the 70th week as being fulfilled, also reject Christ was crucified and established the New Covenant in that same 70th week, thus I consider that doctrine heresy.

Also the Lords 2 witnesses(Word and Spirit) are not 2 single individual flesh and blood men, they are the 2 Olive trees and 2 Candlesticks that feed the golden oil out of them to light the 7 lamps (7 spirits of God) if you understood this you would know 2 flesh and blood men do not feed the golden oil to the 7 spirits of God. The Lords 2 witnesses are in all those saints who have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The book of Revelation is very, very symbolic in its wording, and the carnal mind (natural man) is unable to discern and interpret all those many symbolisms because he only knows what he knows naturally. Only by having the mind of Christ and the Spirit of His wisdom will one be able to understand all the many symbolisms.

Yes there are many antichrists but there will be the antichrist or man of sin and the 70 weeks of Daniel has happned but it will happen again. One thing with bible prophecy is that a lot of times it is spoken for that generation and also for a future generation and honestly I think calling someone a heretic just because they disagree with you is overstepping things. your basically saying if you don't believe what I do your a heretic, that sounds pretty arrogant doesn't it?

The antichrist spirit works in many deceivers as written, and the man of sin also speaks of the mystery of iniquity which was already at work as Paul said, and working "in them" in a whole wicked generation (in them, they, they all, as Paul said.) And saying the 70 weeks of Daniel has happened, but will happen again is just someone's wild imagination and confusion, and is not based on scripture, nor is it of the Truth.

And I did not call someone a heretic for disagreeing with me, but for rejecting the Truth, that Jesus Christ was crucified in the middle of the 70th week of Daniels prophecy. To suggest this prophecy was not fulfilled yet, is to also suggest that Christ was not crucified yet, that is what I call HERESY!

Anything that is not of the Truth is a lie, and is of the spirit of this world and father of lies.

We are told in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” The falling away mentioned here by Paul has to do with the saints of God being overcome by the lies and deception of the Devil, and by his spirit, which is the spirit of a lie. This spirit of a lie is also shown as the false prophet spirit which works in many (many deceivers.)

Paul was playing off the words of Jesus when he referred to “that man” and “son of perdition” in the above verse. But this is not to be misunderstood as a single individual man yet to come in the future, but rather it speaks of the
sin nature of man being raised back up again in the world, and also in the man-made church system. This is symbolized in the book of Revelation as the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit, that was dead, but is being made alive again in the hearts and minds of many.

Notice how Jesus refers to a whole wicked generation as “a man” and “ that man” (like Paul said) here in Matthew 12:43-45 “When the unclean
spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.[SUP]45 [/SUP]Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”

Now notice the wording Jesus used showing the “last state of that man” compared to Peters concerning this same falling away in 2 Peter 2:20-22 “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.[SUP]22 [/SUP]But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”

This being overcome is shown here in
Revelation 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” So this spirit of deception and lies would also overcome the saints as is also confirmed here in Daniel 7:21 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;” That horn is the tail of the red Dragon, which speaks of the spirit of a lie working in all the world to practice and prosper and cast the truth and some of the host to the ground.

So was Paul talking about a single man, or a whole
wicked generation like Jesus said? Well if you read the whole chapter in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Clearly Paul was talking about more than one individual man when he said "
in them" "they" "them" and "they all"
