[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] When you have a plant with sickly leaves, it would be foolish to just treat the leaves without knowing the root cause of the problem. Similarly, when “leaves” of sickness, poverty and destructive habits start sprouting in your life, you need to know what the root cause is.

Experts will tell you that it is stress. They may go a little deeper and say that it is fear—fear of the future, of rejection, of loss, of death and so on. But is fear really the root? Or is there something deeper than fear?

The Bible shows us that the most fundamental cause of problems in our lives is condemnation. With condemnation comes fear. Fear then induces stress which brings about the symptoms of the curse.

This is what happened to Adam. Long before he faced poverty, sickness and eventually death, he had stress. Because of his sin, God told him, “In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground.” (Genesis 3:19) Sweat speaks of stress.

But before there was stress, there was fear because Adam told God, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10)

But what made Adam fearful? Adam only feared when, seeing his nakedness, he realized that he had sinned against God. He felt so ashamed and condemned that he hid himself. God then asked him, “Who told you that you were naked?” (Genesis 3:11) There was no one else in the garden other than Adam and Eve, so we know that it was probably the devil who told Adam that he was naked.

My friend, condemnation is the root cause of the symptoms of the curse manifesting in your life. That is why you need to know that at the cross, God took all your sins, put them on Jesus and unleashed the full fury of His wrath against them until Jesus cried out, “It is finished!”

All your sins have been completely punished in the body of Christ who was condemned for you. The root cause of all your problems has been dealt with. This means that the devil cannot enforce the curse in your life apart from your receiving condemnation. So come to the place of no condemnation and no sick leaves will sprout in your life!

You have both "seeing his nakedness" and "it was probably the devil who told him"
I'll dump the 2nd and stick with Scripture...

Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
(Gen 3:7)

Speculation is no way to build your case.

I find it interesting that God said "Who told you?".....there is a voice that comes with condemnation.

A half a quote is not the best way to go either...

And he said, "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself." He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"
(Gen 3:10-11)

God answered His own question of 'who told you?' with another question...'Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?'

What you call condemnation, can also be done with the purpose of restoration.

I wonder who or what did tell them they were naked?...interesting...either way..the whole purpose of the OP which I now you know is about condemnation and it's destructiveness.

Aren't you glad that we have no condemnation in Christ? We have a great salvation in Him..don't we?

I also find it interesting that Eve added onto the word of God when she told the serpent " God told us not to eat of the tree nor to touch it"....maybe she touched it and found out that she didn't die and then thought..why not eat it?...

The interesting thing is that they were naked to begin with but with the innocence of a small child were unaware of it, upon eating the fruit though things changed. satan is clever he knows that a half truth is much more convincing than a full on lie he was right in saying we would be like God knowing good and evil and that God didn't want us to know though not for the reason satan was implying but when he said we would not die again half truth is more convincing sure they didn't die upon eating the fruit but because they ate it sin entered and they would eventually die one day.

But nakedness without sin represents purity cleanliness innocence and this is why they only realized they were naked once sin had entered the stage because all these things were lost. God asked them who told them they were naked not as if he didn't know but I think he wanted to hear from their own lips them confess what they did, satan was in the garden and clearly God allowed him to be in it there was also the trees with the forbidden fruits within the garden. Now why would God have both the trees and lucifer in the garden if mankind was innocent and pure? it was a test, my guess is God saw mankind as his heirs his children and saw them with high esteem and I am guessing at one point satan disagreed and thought he could prove God wrong and thus the incident in the garden happened.

If you notice all through out the bible satan does this he is constantly trying to prove mankind is un savable is corrupt to the core he constantly points out their flaws constantly tries to prove God wrong about us. He seems to hold a very big grudge on us but while yes we can be corrupt we have darkness in us ans sin we can in fact become just as dark and evil as any demon but we as humans also have other things that satan probably knows but ignores.

The human spirit is unique we can be dyed any color but one thing about us is that we will go to the extremes for the love of another person the human body itself can exceed it's physical limitations when love compels a person to act mankind has this trait of never giving up in our darkness in our light in love and in hate all throughout history time and time again mankind continues to move forward no matter how much they falter there were time when people were faced with unbeatable odds they were doomed and in their minds accepted death but then it only took one person to voice encouragement to regenerate their spirits and moral and because of this they prevailed.

The garden and the events that happened there and followed were more than what we see in the story, when we read it usually we only see the first layer of it what happened and why it happened but your see the events in the garden had much more meaning than what we originally think and the events had much deep depth and purpose than what meets the eye

I agree blain....there are many layers of things happening in the garden. I found it interesting that Eve was deceived by trying to do something good in her mind. She did appear to have good motives.

I think the sin of the garden ( other then the obvious admonishment to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ) - was that they were trying to be like God "without God"....religion ( term used in it's bad sense ) is still trying to get us Christians to do the same thing...trying to do "good deeds" without the life of Christ in us doing those deeds.

The fruit of knowing good is the same fruit as of knowing evil....they are both from the same tree. This is different then eating from the Tree of Life which we know is Christ Himself.

We did see Adam and Eve shrink back from the light.

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
(Gen 3:8)
******************************
And so do men do today...

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (Joh 3:19)
******************************
The Christian is exhorted to walk in the light, in fellowship with the living God...

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

It's interesting that God knew what they had done and yet He still was coming to be with them. Sin distorted their view of God and they became afraid of Him. It was God that continued to look after them by giving them animal skins to help them and to foretold ( if it doesn't bother you to speculate on this part) that blood is needed in dealing with sins.

Aren't you glad that Jesus took away all the condemnation with His shedding of blood and now we can walk free in Him? Aren't you excited to have no condemnation in Christ now? It's life-changing to know all that Christ has done for us because of His great love for us.

Now, you are claiming Adam and Eve were steeped in darkness, and were hiding from God because they were wanting to do all the evil things they enjoyed doing? Wow.

Their PERCEPTION of God was altered with the "knowledge" they received, and they PERCEIVED themselves to be enemies of God "IN THEIR MIND" as it is said about us later on in the Bible, and as Jesus PERCEIVED Himself to be while hanging on the cross, confused by the cloak of sin hung on Him.

The text also doesn't say that they felt condemnation for seeing that they were naked. They feared condemnation when they heard GOD's voice after they sinned, so they hid.

Do you really think Jesus was confused when He quoted Psalm 22?

Yes, I am. And when I sin I am glad I have an Advocate...I love to return to fellowship after I have sinned by confessing my sin...not by confessing my righteousness in Him :)
