My senior pastor started his church in the late 60s early 70s era which drew a lot of hippie types. A lot of them showed up barefoot and such. Their hygiene needed a bit of attention also.
As the church grew it was called to his attention that body odors remained in the carpet and chairs where they would set. He was asked to address the issue in which he did.
He hired a contractor to rip out the carpet and replaced it with a wooden type floor. He replaced the padded chairs with wooden benches and steel folding chairs and each time after service he would mop the floors and wipe down the chairs and benches.
He has since gone to be with the Lord but what an example of a man of God.
