Here is the context of Matt 13. Jesus is showing that the unrighteous ( those not in Christ ) will be taken from among the righteous ( those in Christ as He is our righteousness)
I wanted to like this phrase. Rather than the word Christ I would put love of God.

Meditate on this, ponder on this if you will. All the words and works of man originate from within his heart (mind) and all the constructs of man first begin in the imagery of his mind. Whether those works be false idols made of wood, stone, or metal, those images are first manifest in the hearts of men. Even the words a man speaks comes from the heart, so in this we can see how even false doctrines, false religions, and every false belief of man are also the constructs of mans own evil imagination.

Mark 7:21-23 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,[SUP]22 [/SUP]Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

These thoughts and imaginations are directed by, and even depend upon which spirit is at work in mans heart, be it for evil or for good. Our body is like a Temple for God's Spirit to dwell, and our heart is like the seat of authority that dictates our thoughts, words, and actions. If God is seated in your heart, your thoughts, words, and actions shall be directed by Him bearing witness to our conscience.
finally, common ground that we can agree on. may I add to this, the fruit of the Sprit, love, joy peace, kindness, goodness, etc.. outflow from the new heart we receive when we are saved.

no, I really do not want to enter into strife, and I wish all the bickering would stop and we could all have a Bible discussion. but, in order to get there, we have to use the Bible properly. it was not meant to be chopped into pieces. you are right, it is fine to do a Biblical study on a concept, but use all the things that pertain to the concept. instead of just throwing out all the warnings, put the verses that talk about what fruit is along side of these. then you have a Bible study, and then discussion about fruit.
I dont see the bible used improperly, I see most of the clashing between two peoples because the one side of things is neglectful to that which they preferred wasnt there and hatred to towrds the other part who brings up the reminders that others parts mentioned have dissapeared (as they would like them to be).

Discussing is good, less our words I would prefer and more study

I prefer sharing comparisons, a forum without our own words entering in would be great where they can be avoided.

There are those who preach not bearing good fruit has nothing to do with salvation. But scripture warns over and over again about trees and branches that do not bear good fruit.

John the Baptist said in
Matthew 3:10 “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

Jesus said in
Matthew 7:19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

So bearing good fruit sounds pretty important doesn’t it? Well some will claim they abide in Christ, and so they trust in his finished works, so what they do, or don’t do as it pertains to bearing fruit makes no difference to their salvation. But the words of Jesus also warns those who did once abide in Him for a time but did not endure and bear fruit, that these shall be
taken away.

Notice Jesus says every branch "in Him" (showing they were once in Christ)
that do not bear fruit
shall be taken away

John 15:1-6 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]
If a man abide not in me, he is
cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Notice Jesus said every branch that did abide (remain in Him) and He in them, the same will bring forth fruit. To abide in Christ is to abide in the Way He told us to walk, and to also abide in the Spirit and the Truth of the gospel message, which leads us to Eternal Life. But not abiding, or not remaining faithful in Christ by
unbelief and being unfruitful can get you cut off from the Life of the Vine, and cast forth as a branch and burned. Here is proof…

Romans 11:19-22
[SUP]19 [/SUP]
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
[SUP]21 [/SUP]
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue (abide in) in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be
cut off.

Now in the parable above in John 15:2 some will try to twist it’s true meaning and say the Father is not taking away those branches who do not bear fruit, but He is lifting them up to be embraced and nourished, as if God lifts up those who do not bear fruit. But I will prove this wrong by another verse of scripture and words of Jesus which speaks the same message.

First note the word usage "taketh away"G142 used(25X) in the KJV.....The KJV translates Strongs G142 in the following manner: take up (32x), take away (25x), take (25x), away with (5x), lift up (4x), bear (3x), miscellaneous (8x).

Notice the exact same message Jesus said in John 15:2 is spoken of again in the same way here in Matthew 13:12 and with the same words used “taken away”(G142)

there was no Old and New Testaments when Jesus said this. based on v. 52 you could say that he was speaking of using his teachings and the Torah. but not Testaments.
New wine must be put into new vessels, because the old vessel will not agree with the new wine, as also the old vessel cannot receive and retain the new testimony, also in their carnal minds they think the old wine is better. :)

Luke 5...36"And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.[SUP]37 [/SUP]And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

So why don't they admit the scriptures are right, and they are wrong, And why don't they do something about it, Like repent and get in line with the scriptures?.

Nonsense ...that is a construct of your own thinking. We should be looking at scripture "in context" and through the lens of the finished work of Christ.

I do agree with you that people can twist scriptures around - that is a very true statement.

Everyone is a false teacher to those that believe in something a little differently then
they do. The internet is full of heretic-hunter websites.

But you are free to believe what ever you want.

There are lot's of self-proclaimed heretic hunters on the internet. To them everyone is a heretic. These heretic-hunters do not bear good fruit.

There are websites dedicated to the heretic Billy Graham. Billy Sunday, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Stanley, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, John McArthur, Paul Washer, Joseph Prince, Bill Johnson, Martin Luther, John Calvin..etc..basically anyone who is known has a website dedicated to their "heresies"

There are even websites dedicated to the heretic apostle Paul because his epistles "conflict" with some of Jesus' words.

Basically these self-proclaimed heretic hunters have a beef about some thing with what someone else believes and so they are now "heretics". "If people don't believe the way that they do - they are heretics and they try to prove it with "their" version of what the scriptures say.."

It's the nature of the beast.

Where these types cross the line is when they turn a disagreement that they have with someone doctrinally on a secondary issue and turn it into "So and so is a heretic/satanist/controlled by a demon" type stuff.

I think this hyper-grace thing is utter nonsense!

I never even heard of such a thing until I came to this forum

the expression seems to have caught on here and I wonder what it is people think they believe in, if it is not the unmerited favor of God?

maybe they don't know what grace is

I never would have thought there were so many eager to splice grace into parts and berate some with one part and hug the other part and marry it to self-effort

and go on and on with OT scriptures

listen, the NT is chock full of dire warnings regarding sin...worse then the Old IMO

People can try to create and maintain their own righteousness if they want
The above statment is a constant straw man accusation which tries to bash anyone who preaches an obedient walk of faith by being empowered by Christ our righteousness. Beware of those who constantly try to misrepresent others beliefs in order to deceive, this is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit. :)

Nonsense....I have not mentioned anyone's personal beliefs. The statement stands true on it's own merit. If people identify with it...that's between them and their God.

Here is my full post "in context". If people take things out of it's context - that is what is really mis-representing what is being said and that is being deceitful IMO.

Quote:

People can try to create and maintain their own righteousness if they want. - I would advise against it.

Isaiah 64:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 10:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own,
they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Being righteous to be saved and to stay saved is completely different to being righteous because you are saved and thus empowered by God.

It's not a straw man at all.

Either you are righteous by Him or by you.

If you want to play the Scripture new and old game, I can pull out plenty of verses myself.

Speaking of straw men, labeling people by their doctrine as "hyper grace" or "false grace" teachers is about as dishonest as you can be.

I've noticed you complain about being labeled and defend those accusations, so afford others the same respect, people are not Joseph Prince clones.

They read Scripture and they believe what they believe. Just as you do. None of us are perfectly correct. We can all learn from each other if we choose to serve one another in humility and honor. Just as Christ empowers us to do.

The hyper grace teaching, is the end time deception teaching which are the same as the Nicoliatans which Jesus hated.
One hyper grace teacher said, "When I sin, I am blessed, because God's not counting my sins against me".
The same man also said, "The only qualification we need to go up in the rapture, is to be alive on earth at that time",
Then he said, "We don't have to be faithful or holy, Just here at the time".

And every scripture that proves them wrong, They say it's not for the Church.

I am bowing out of this thread as it is turning into another one of those "bashing" Christians that have a different view on some scripture then they do type of thread.

I'll leave people to indulge their flesh as much as they want to castigate those that view a scripture differently then you do.

Have a great day and God bless you! We really have a good, good, loving Father and a great salvation in our Lord. I encourage people to trust in Him - He is faithful to all of us!

earlier I agreed with you. but now I say, look in the mirror when you make this statement. I know why you and others do not like me, I am brash give it right back. I do not fear lying legalists. but why yall are so harsh with grace777x7 is beyond me. he is one of the nicest guys, uses a ton of Scripture, and constantly glorifies God 's grace through Christ.

It's nothing to do with different views, It's that fact that the hyper grace teaching isn't the Biblical grace teaching.
The HG teaching gives people a licence to live how they want to, and still be blessed and used by God.
