Here's a couple more...

Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

That's kinda like reaping what you sow right? :)
Yeah, I had always thought what goes out (fruit wise) sort of enters back in being filled with the fruit of your own words, eating of your own ways, letting your own backslidings correct you even your own bitterness, like I see a rereward in it, or a reccompense a "being filled" a sowing and a reaping, and the tongue still stands (for me today) as one of the most enlightening studies no wonder its called "a world" of inquity. The fruit of ones doings in more than just that way was the one I thought, cool! That will take further, just something to pick up and look at, that is rare for me to find something decent to study out (and work ito previous studies).

Like I know Jesus speaks of the tongue (or rather what comes out of a man defiling him) as James agrees, you can just see the principal of it through the other verses, they open that up some more.

Prov 12:14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Prov 13:2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

Prov 18:20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Who did Jesus liken unto a wise, how are they discerned?

James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom
.

The fruits of ones conversation, out of which one speaks, one sows, whether of the wisdom which is from above or below has fruit (with seed that is sown that goes with it) that type of thing.

Thanks
:)

Just as every good tree brings forth good fruit, so does a bad tree bring forth evil. But did you know your words are also like fruit?

Proverbs 18:21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Just as your ways be they good or evil are considered works=fruit

Jeremiah 32:19Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

Romans 7:5
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

So even those who sin by word or deed are called workers of iniquity. Is that DIY self destruction-ism? Perhaps, or perhaps that's just the nature of da beasty. :)

So let your mouth bring forth good fruit that brings forth blessings, and not bad fruit which brings forth the curse.

Proverbs 18:20A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Isaiah 57:19
I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.

Hebrews 13:15
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Because words can also defile a man....

Matthew 15:11 "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man."

Matthew 15:18-20 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.[SUP]19 [/SUP]For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

[SUP]20 [/SUP]These are the things which defile a man:...."

James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
You need to stop being so hard on yourself. None of us are perfect.......

Good post! This here was a good one to point out

Prov 1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices

Isaiah 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings

Jerm 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it

Mic 7:13 Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings
Thank God for the cross, eh?

Here is both calves and fruit of our lips

Hosea 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Heb 13:15
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Thank God for the cross, eh?
Are you not convinced of the cross of Christ, honestly asking, or mocking it the way you asked?

I cannot tell actually, but as for me I do thank God every night and day for sending His Son to die for me that I might live through Him that loved me and gave himself for me.

I missed this post.

Yes, I do realize there wasnt chapters and verse numbers. I believe they might have numbered them in their mention as they might have with the psalms

Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee

And ISIT doesnt at all deny that he has sinned, just as it says all have sinned so I dont know how one is a liar by admitting they have sinned, he was speaking of continuing to sin and wilfully sinning.
the point I was making is what is going on now. you and isit are just making statements , then plucking out random verses that have nothing to do with other. there are 31,102 verses in the Bible. you should not play connect the dots with them. they should be taken in context.

why are ya'll so afraid of context and background??

just plucking out verses, blending O.T. and N.T. is dangerous.
Matthew 13:52
Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. :)

Some see random verses others see verses that confirm, you will have to demonstrate what you call fear of context, the violation of it and what contradicts in the verses shared.

Holy Spirit teaches by "comparing things" you have to move to do that.

Paul wasnt afraid of context either

Thats Romans 10:5-21 Taken from everywhere in the OT, you dont have to violate the setting its in by bring various forward from them, thats even demonstarted in Paul.

You arent really making a point, you want to enter into a strife

Grace 7 Re: Bearing fruit #268

Unrighteousness is trying to create and maintain one's own righteousness.

This is sin as all unrighteousness is sin.

The above comment for me is morality gone mad. If one is righteous, doing the right
things, then that is good, and God blesses this.

Now the sin is pride in ones own position, or believing any position justifies you.
So the problem is not righteousness but pride.

But not being righteous is behaving sinfully, doing sinful acts which is rebellion.
So if you say it is wrong to be righteous and better to be sinful, things are upside
down. The language and condemnation gets very confused at this point.

My answer to this is to aim at honouring Christ, walking in love and letting God transform
you. You cannot measure your progress because this does lead to pride, which is a sin,
but to condemn even desiring to walk in righteousness, hunger and thirsting for such a thing
is to say Jesus is lying.

The problem of these believers is they call any reference to Gods law, justice, holiness, is
condemnation. But everyone who has spent time with God, this is how they feel, because
God is Holy and we are sinners saved by grace.

Now the fruit that works to eternity for me is works down out of the love He has planted in
us. It is actually impossible for this fruit not to exist, because it is the result of love working
and overflowing in us. It is inevitable, it is live refreshing and renewing us. Amen.

there was no Old and New Testaments when Jesus said this. based on v. 52 you could say that he was speaking of using his teachings and the Torah. but not Testaments.

Here is the context of Matt 13. Jesus is showing that the unrighteous ( those not in Christ ) will be taken from among the righteous ( those in Christ as He is our righteousness)

Jesus is simply saying that the disciple will be able to bring out what is the good = "new" ( those in Christ - righteous ) and what is not good = the "old" ( wicked - unrighteous )

Matthew 13:47-52 (NASB)
[SUP]47 [/SUP] "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea, and gathering fish of every kind;

[SUP]48 [/SUP] and when it was filled, they drew it up on the beach; and they sat down and gathered the good fish into containers, but the bad they threw away.

[SUP]49 [/SUP] "So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous,

[SUP]50 [/SUP] and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

[SUP]51 [/SUP] "Have you understood all these things?" They *said to Him, "Yes."

[SUP]52 [/SUP] And Jesus said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old."

10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Fruit of ones doings as it pertains to ones thoughts are here

And even the power we have through God to bring them captive

2 Cr 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
That reminds me of an old post I put together about the wicked imagination (image-nation) of the mind that provokes the Lord to anger.

Deuteronomy 4:25 “When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger:

Psalm 78:58 “For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.”
Ezekiel 8:3 “And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.”

Ezekiel 8:12 “Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.”

The imagery of man’s
evil imagenation provokes the Lord to anger.

Genesis 6:5 “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”Genesis 8:21…..for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth;”

Deuteronomy 29:19 “And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:” Deuteronomy 31:21….. for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.”

1 Chronicles 28:9 “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.”

These things the Lord does hate….
Proverbs 6:18 “An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,”

Jeremiah 7:24 “But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. Jeremiah 9:14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: Jeremiah 11:8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.”

Jeremiah 13:10 “This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.”
Jeremiah 16:12 “And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:”

Jeremiah 18:12 “And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.”
Jeremiah 23:17They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.”

Luke 1:51 “He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.”
Romans 1:21 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Worship not the image of the first beast which is made in the image of man’s own
evil imagination. Ask the Lord to give you a new heart and mind made in the image of His blessed Son Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:29 “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

no, I really do not want to enter into strife, and I wish all the bickering would stop and we could all have a Bible discussion. but, in order to get there, we have to use the Bible properly. it was not meant to be chopped into pieces. you are right, it is fine to do a Biblical study on a concept, but use all the things that pertain to the concept. instead of just throwing out all the warnings, put the verses that talk about what fruit is along side of these. then you have a Bible study, and then discussion about fruit.

Meditate on this, ponder on this if you will. All the words and works of man originate from within his heart (mind) and all the constructs of man first begin in the imagery of his mind. Whether those works be false idols made of wood, stone, or metal, those images are first manifest in the hearts of men. Even the words a man speaks comes from the heart, so in this we can see how even false doctrines, false religions, and every false belief of man are also the constructs of mans own evil imagination.

Mark 7:21-23 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,[SUP]22 [/SUP]Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

These thoughts and imaginations are directed by, and even depend upon which spirit is at work in mans heart, be it for evil or for good. Our body is like a Temple for God's Spirit to dwell, and our heart is like the seat of authority that dictates our thoughts, words, and actions. If God is seated in your heart, your thoughts, words, and actions shall be directed by Him bearing witness to our conscience.

People can try to create and maintain their own righteousness if they want. - I would advise against it.

Isaiah 64:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 10:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own,
they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
