The purpose of this thread is to share how much of a Jesus freak you are. LOL No, seriously, it is to share testimonies of experiences you have had in operating in the gifts of the Spirit. Such things as prophecy, tongues, wisdom, healing or any manner of supernatural experiences associated with the supernatural aspect of our Christian walk. It's story time, so lets have some fun.

PS: Some might be concerned with throwing pearls before swine, don't worry they aren't here to dine. haha This is for those looking for encouragement and exhortation. They will read the testimonies and be inspired.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one is peculiar, but my brother in law's son had become sick. He walked in and we (my brother in law and I) were fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. I said something in tongues and my brother in law got the interpretation to mean like "a plague." Basically that it was going around. I can't off the top of my head remember the name, but having known the Lord said it was going around the next day I was with my sister in her vehicle as her friend approached the car covering her mouth. I said, "Let me guess... (name of disease)." They gave a thumbs up, meaning I was correct. VVhich also confirmed what the Holy Spirit shared with us through tongues and interpretation.

It was just a neat confirmation of us hearing the Lord accurately and confirming that fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago. I was talking to my roommate about some ideas. And he said you know what we need is an app developer. I met one that day. We spoke and now we are in the middle of launching a Kickstarter (2 weeks later).

A year ago, when praying about going to ministry school. A guy messages me on FB and says hey I know we've never talked or met (he added me from a FB friend), but I really love your posts and I actually had a dream about you. And he proceeded to describe in the dream the exact place I was thinking about going to ministry school. Needless to say I went :)

About 3 months ago, I was in ministry school, and talking to someone who wanted to learn how to give words from the Lord better. So I encouraged him to give me one. He said okay well I see China and I think God is opening up business opportunities for you there? 3 hrs later, I met with a lady from China. She lives in the manufacturing city of China (Shenzhen) and she was looking for someone to help her market products so she can fund ministry and discipleship in China. I am a marketer because in 2009 the Lord told me to start studying marketing.

About 2 months ago, while attending a conference about giving words to people, this guy was getting people's addresses, birthdays, etc. And I was so encouraged to grow in this. So I prayed about buying his course so I could learn it and teach other people how to grow sharper in it as well. I didn't have the money. So I prayed about God providing it for me. At the end of the day, a guy walks up to me and puts money in my hand, almost enough for the course. I share the testimony with a friend, he decides he wants to pay for the rest of it. I'm excited because I want to see people bringing encounters with God in all spheres of influence. So this is a huge passion of mine that I can now teach because God provided for the course I couldn't afford. Which also increases my faith because I know He is supporting me in it.

Nothing for me thus far. I'll be content if I someday understand a little about God. I don't need any gifts beyond what I was already given before I was born.

The other day the Lord healed my sister's migraine through prayer/laying on of hands. She told me she had a migraine and her husband and I were in the car. He was driving and she was in the front passenger seat. They were discussing whether to go to the store real quick for some pain meds to relieve her migraine. Funny enough, we were headed to a healing crusade as they discussed this! Haha! Anyways instead of getting the pain meds I interjected and asked if I could pray.

I prayed once and she said the pain was gone but she still felt throbbing. I prayed again and she said, "I still feel throbbing but its not painful." I decided to not pray a third time because I believe it was done. She was healed. About twenty minutes later she tells me, 'VVow Ben, the migraine is gone. It just disappeared." No throbbing, nothing. The Lord completely healed her, glory to God!

I still find it hilarious that she was headed to a healing crusade and was deciding whether or not to go buy some medication for the migraine. lol

It seems the clear message of your testimonies so far is that the Lord provides. :) He is faithful.

Haha, that's so cool, I didn't really notice that clear pattern. But it makes sense because my prayer is to grow in the gift of faith! That He is faithful (Hebrews 11:6).

Fruit of Spirit is more important than the gifts of Spirit.

Paul said seek the gifts, The fruit is natural by having faith in the work of the Cross. It takes even greater faith to operate in the gifts and they are gifts and not earned.

Yes. But it is needed to have the fruit of the Spirit.

It is not needed to have the gifts of the Spirit, they are useful for a church, though.

Quite the contradictory statement. It requires greater faith yet it is not earned but it takes greater faith. To acquire greater faith requires what? Greater effort?

A little song we used to sing

Faith talking about faith, you don't need a whole lot just use what you got.

Faith the size of a mustard seed, but when fully grown is a tree that even the birds find rest.

Faith builds faith.

You don't force fruit to grow. It simply shows who are in Christ.

You say they are not needed, but Paul said to earnestly desire them, especially that ALL would prophesy.

I think the best gift - is the one that the Holy Spirit knows we need at the time to help others out.

Simple prophecy is done by a lot of us but we just don't recognize it because our religious upbringing has our minds filled with thoughts that prophecy is "telling events in the future" and it was in the OT. Now in the New Covenant it is used for exhortation, comfort and consolation.

I have been used many times by the Holy Spirit to encourage others in the Lord by giving them hope and to learn to rely on the grace of Christ for them.

It's the power gifts that have been lacking in the body of Christ but all that is changing as we learn to rely completely on the Holy spirit and to not be afraid of man. The Lord will manifest His goodness in the whole earth and all the earth wills see the glory ( goodness ) of the Lord.

He is preparing those that are willing to believe in Him completely for everything and to follow His will and purpose.

Proverbs 19:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand.

I will slightly disagree with this post.

Prophecy has always been about forth-telling - i.e. telling the truth without let nor hindrance, no matter how unpopular the message.
Sometimes the forth-telling incorporates aspects of foretelling - i.e. future consequences are mentioned.

It is no different today.

The faith that God produces comes from His word. It is not of men but of God.

Ro 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I agree...that's why I said "Simple prophecy" that all us believers can do in the New Covenant is for exhortation comfort and consolation. 1 Cor 14:3

There is an office of a prophet in the New Covenant but that is a different subject and it does seem to tell of events in the future like Agabus did to Paul before he went to Jerusalem where he said that Paul would be bound.

oh where do I start..God does spectacular things almost daily.. Imma just share the most recent ones. Yesterday I met a person on a Christian Forum who is taking meds because he keeps hearing voices and its confusing him and keeps holding him back from hearing God so he asked me for help. Through decernment of the holy spirit we found that he got himself bad spirits by reading books on Occultism and Horoscopes. He got delivered yesterday after intensive prayer and repentance and today he said he feels so much lighter and good and at peace....

Today I was talking to a friend and the holy spirit told me that his cousin had a heart attack and that its in the family line.. also that God broke the generational bonds to strokes and heart attacks.

And the most impressive I encountered a few months ago..there was a lady at our church (ive never seen her) and we had multiple prophetic people visiting and she sat into a chair and God told me to lay hands on her and told me everything that was going wrong so I layed hands on her and expelled and prayed for her and a hour later she comes and tells us her Asthma and pains are gone she can throw all her meds away.

I can go on and on and on lol! God bless!

That same thing happened to me after messing with auto-writing. If only people knew who they were "opening" themselves up to. Thats awesome that he was able to find peace through the Lord. (I tried taking some medication to stop the voices too for a few months, they never did a thing at all)

I got in a really bad fight with another (19yr old) that told him to not listen to a 16 yr old.. THO He said the meds didnt do anything and he feels so oppressed and weak. I just hope and pray he stays doing the right thing and doesnt re-open doors. I love seeing and feeling God work :)
