A challlenge for resurrection33. The Lord is the Word, The bible is what we call the written Word. Look at it. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was made flesh, the written Word is the Word that has been around from the beginning and before. The word is what we see when we open our bible. ON and on and on....Jesus is the Word. You see and read the Word you are looking at Jesus who IS the final authority in everything.
The Bible is what YOU call the written word. What I call the written word are those instances in the Bible where God and Jesus are quoted.

If the bible is not the final authority then what do we test our beliefs and our views on? The Catholics mock Christians for believing in sola scripture but if you notice many of their beliefs and views are man made and contradict the bible and that is the same thing as contradicting God. True the bible is not god but it is his words and I would rather have his words to have a foundation on than anything else
We test our beliefs on the words of God and Jesus in the Bible. They are quoted many times.

Then you have no hope of getting the truth, if you don't believe that ALL of the bible is Gods own Word.

So your saying only when God and Jesus spoke in the bible does it count? The word of God is not just when he spoke in the bible the entire bible is God breathed we cannot pick and choose what is the word of God from the bible just as we cannot pick and choose which parts to believe. Either the entire bible is the word of God or none of it is just like either the entire bible is the true or none of it is

Then you worship the Bible.
Do you believe there is any value in the Bible other than what you call the quoted words of God?

How is one to know what is of value and what is not?

im not saying throw out the bible or dont obey it......... im just saying there are examples in the bible of people being commended for doing soemthing questionable.......
Well, errant believers that thinks tongues can be used as a prayer language by the Holy Spirit will use the Book of Acts and Romans 8:26-27 & even 1 Corinthians 12- 14 chapters in errant Bible version as an example to justify what other parts of the Bible says it is not... like John 16:13 which states in ALL Bibles that the Holy Spirit cannot use God's gift of tongues to speak or utter His own intercessions. And yet...they can read inbetween the lines to explain away their second supernatural experience in how they got that tongue which never comes with interpretation and ignore all the warnings in the scripture of the N.T. and the Isaiah 8:19 of the O.T. as to why God will not turn His gift of tongues to speak unto the people as a means for the Holy Spirit to speak back to God in prayer.

Only the KJV has kept the true meaning of His words while tongue speakers continue to ignore those scripture that proves they are reading the other scriptures wrong or have an errant Bible version of Romans 8:26-27 when the KJV reconfirms that the intercessions of the Holy Spirit's cannot be uttered... not even the groaning of the Holy Spirit.. thus He is silent in verse 26 while in verse 27 Another is knowing the mind of the Spirit as This Anther is the One that searches our hearts...as Hebrews 4:12-16 confirms this Another and that Another is the man Christ Jesus, the ONLY Mediator between God and man. 1 Timothy 2:5

Prayer system is set up where the Son presents the Spirit's unspeakable intercessions, our intercessions and the Son's own intercession to the Father so that whenever the Father says "Yes". the Son answers the prayers so that the Father may be glorified in the Son for answered prayers by giving the Father thanks in Jesus's name. John 14:13-14

So I would go a step further by saying the King James Version is the final authority if you want the truth in His words, and only by trusting Jesus Christ as your Good Shepherd can you discern that the KJV is the one to rely on for abiding in Him.

But as per your example....you can find a lot of examples in the O.T. that are questionable and even contrary to what Jesus has taught in the N.T., but as those examples of yours were under the Old Covenant, you are under the New Covenant and should lean on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Good Shepherd to discern how He wants you to follow Him in according to His words under the New Covenant of the New Testament of the King James Bible as teh final authority.

Now if you do not have a KJV Bible, you can always go to Bible gateway and compare your version with the KJV and lean on Him as your Good Shepherd as t why the KJV is the one to rely on for the meat of His words to discern good & evil in these latter days where faith is hard to find.

I understand you to say that most Christians will use the Word to prove their point rather than uses the Word as spiritual food and learn from it? Tongue speakers using the Word to show that tongues is a spirit language. Healers and Seers like me using the Word to prove our point, that if you are not healed, its because they choose not to believe the Word. I agree that the KJV is still the most accurate version of the bible out there. Anyway. Am I understanding you correctly?

First of all, the quoted words of God and Jesus in the Bible make the Bible indispensable.

The history found in the Bible is a great teaching aid. The wisdom books in the Old Testament are of great value, allowing us to avoid mistakes that will destroy our lives.

Paul and the other epistle writers share great wisdom, but you need to learn how to take their writings with a grain of salt, just like you have to learn to listen to great modern preachers with a grain of salt.

Paul makes it clear in Acts that it is the HOLY SPIRIT who is speaking through him, leading him where to go, the Bible is the word written by the breath of GOD...xox...

Do you believe that Paul and the other epistle writers were directed by God (writing what God wanted them to write) or just giving their opinion?

I believe that Paul did a good, but not perfect, job of obeying the Lord.

So how do you know when to follow what he teaches and when not to?
When was he good and when did he fail?
