It does not violate this Biblical teaching:

Philippians 4:[SUP]8 [/SUP]Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. [SUP]
4:9 [/SUP]The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Romans 14:5-6 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.

Any celebration with love as the motivator is so of God.

At the cross, when Jesus placed his mother into the hands of John might be called the first Mother's Day. She was honored and singled out in such a loving way.

Was going to make a mother's day joke and changed my mind.

I'll pretend there's nothing odd or funny about mother's or mother's day, and then I won't make all the girls mad at me today.

: )
