I find that when I run around and aruond doing things all the times sometimes I forget to stop and remember why the actions are necessary. the concepts and ideas are not as important as the people the relationship .
A principal told us once that the kids don't care about how much you know but how much you care. you could be the smartest person in the world concerning facts and things but if you do not have love, you would be the worst teacher ever because the kids will not be able to relate to you and you will not be able to matter to them because they can tell if they really matter to you or not.
the social aspect of school is often thought to be a bad thing but I think it is a way to show our love for others and a very human thing.
Its one of my weaknesss to get into books and ideas and concepts and forget the people around me who God calls me to speak with and fellowship with and spend time with.
It reminds me of these verses:
1 Corinthians 13
The Greatest Gift
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails.
