As I have told you before, in case you have forgotten, or just did not pay attention, I have never read any of Calvin's writings, and if these are his teachings, I disagree with him.

I only use the scriptures, and Strong's concordance, believing that the scriptures prove themselves, by harmonizing with one another.
Amen!

God gifted us the faith to believe.
No, the gift is salvation, which is given when we choose to have faith in the gospel, something anyone has the capacity to do.

I did not read your attachment. I do not take other person's thoughts on the scriptures of any value.
You're also a member of the Primitive Baptist denomination, which is strongly Calvinist. Might they have swayed your thinking just a little?

Negatory.

Grace by definition is a gift. The "that" in Ephesians 2:8-9 is UNQUESTIONABLY referring to FAITH. Not to mention the "that" comes DIRECTLY after faith, NOT Grace.

God is still in the miracle business last I checked.
Well, considering I myself was brought into the church as a newborn infant, I was raised in the southern Baptist church, which followed Calvin.

If it was not for the fact my Dad was secretly recruited by our Pastor, we would have never known he also led the KKK.

So as I look at the actions of people who follow Calvinism, I clearly see where they believe God makes them sin so why should they be sorry for it.

My Baptist Pastor wasn't sorry for hanging black people on trees, he glorified it like a true Calvin would have.

ok. I disagree.

The battle between Calvinists and Arminians has raged for centuries. It will probably continue until Christ returns.

(then Calvinists will realize how wrong they were.. :) )

Jesus called Lazarus to come forth while he was still dead. Lazarus heard the Lord's voice while he was dead. Jesus didn't raise Lazarus from the dead first and then say: Lazarus, I've made you alive, now you can hear me tell you to come forth.

LOL, this is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out—those
who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. John 5:28-29

Sometimes when we have negative experiences, we overcompensate in the opposite direction. Calvin and Luther were responding to what they perceived as abuses of doctrine the opposite way themselves. It's hard not to be affected by our experience and circumstances.

I am no fan of Luther, Armini, and especially Calvin.

We moved to the Midwest after leaving the Southern Baptist Church and ended up independent only following the Bible and no one else.

Now today, I like the Church Fathers views and Disciples of the Apostle John, but the Bible is my true compass I follow.

Not to believe in Calvin's writings that people on this forum have told me about.

We all are blessed to stand higher and look farther because of standing on the shoulders of those who came before us.

True statement, Those that God loves are judged here in time by his chastenings, and will not be judged at the last day.

Those that he does not love, he does not chasten, here in time, (Psalms 73) but will be judged at the last day

But if the ultimate source of your foundation is upon someone who committed a sin, arrested and tried and convicted, but rather take self blame but shove it onto God like It's all His fault by painting it's also for His Glory, you ain't standing on much other than pure horse manure where you will continue sinking deeper into your own delusions.

We still listen to the words of David and Moses. They were both murderers. Everyone has a past. Christians are no different. And nobody gets it all right.
I loved listening to Ravi Zacarias. I was heartbroken when details of his life destroyed his ministry at his passing. I wasn't any less blessed by what he shared, but I was reminded how fragile we all are.
You do well to contend for truth. Just don't forget mercy as you endeavor.

David and Moses were also Inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Big difference between committing a sin that would make Ancient Sodom proud and then claim God made me do it.

I don't see anywhere where David and Moses blamed God for any of the sins they committed and are recorded.

I would be very interested to see where Calvin directly attributed his sin to God. It is in his writings?
I'm not talking about sin in general. I'm referring to the sin of sodomy.
Do you have such a source?

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

The gift of God is that we are "saved through faith." The gift is not the faith to believe.

Read entire page.

It shows how Calvin changed his theology.

He called it the INSTITUTES:

He even claims Satan is innocent and God is the real evil behind the choices Satan makes.

Now read the entire page and tell me which part is found in the Bible?
