*wonders if the above poster realizes the movie was made by an atheist who said he had no intentions of making this biblically accurate or even remotely Christian.
So that means you hate athiests then ?? good child of god you are then

I rarely, if ever, advocate putting people on ignore, but our new British friend may certainly qualify. A quick glance at his activity shows a person lashing out at anybody and everybody in an insulting, nasty kind of way. Perhaps the jury is still out on him and an ounce of love and humility will appear. I pray so.

yeah yeah that's ok you like many others can condemn all you like and make other people condemn people to,, this is what Satan would like you to do and the satanists of this world also,, its called making people hate people,, its a trick of the enemy,, its ok i forgive you because i know the enemy would like you to fall into the trap of hating people and to make out that English people have a predigest problem,, it does not matter that i am from england,, i could be from anywhere,, and the sooner you realize that peoples hate problems with atheists and Catholics are not your problem the better it will be for the people who claim to be christian. the minute you fall into other peoples hate problems and start hating your self,, this is when you no longer love but hate,, and once you have hate in your in your heart,, its a breeding ground for Satan to make you have more hate..

A friend said it was all propaganda. The references to not eating meat for one. Noah's insistence that his task was to return the world to the animals, no humans. I saw it on Saturday because we are discussing it at our Scripture Encounters group tomorrow morning. Will be interesting where the topic goes. I wasn't as disappointed in the film as I thought I'd be; No, God is never mentioned, but The Creator is. Everything Noah did was because he was chosen by The Creator. "Our strength comes from Our Creator", he says early on. As a movie it was good, if you look at it as just a story. Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly were excellent I thought. I didn't like all the violence, or the "Watchers" (won't spoil that for those who haven't seen it. You won't believe it!), thought that was beyond ridiculous. The animals coming on board was very well done.

But if your going to make a movie based on a story from the Bible, then follow the Bible as much as possible and don't add things you can't substantiate. Another friend made the comment "Noah's ark is only 2 paragraphs in the Bible, so big deal." Well, it is a big deal and as my son said "A very important 2 paragraphs!". We wouldn't like someone adding things to a movie about the signing of the Declaration of Independence either.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth....

Actually.....the movie adaptation of Noah is chocked full of Gnosticism as well as Kabbalist beliefs.

Sympathy For The Devil — Dr. Brian Mattson
Sirk. No, no, no. You're welcome not to like the movie, but it's not Gnostic. Dr. Brian Mattson is uninformed.

Ugly, Noah is a very Jewish movie. If Aronofsky is an atheist as is often reported, he's a secular Jew who's searching.

Has anyone seen this film yet? On British TV the other day they had Russell Crow making an idiot of himself on Graham Norton Show, he talked about the film and basically said a truthful thing, "Has anyone criticising it actully watched it?".

So has anyone seen it?
Yes, I saw it Saturday because it will be the topic of discussion at our Scripture Encounters group tomorrow morning. As a movie, an action movie, I thought it was quite good except for all the violence - way too much. While they never say God, they do refer to The Creator throughout. He is why Noah did everything he did, he had a dream, saw the world flooded, felt The Creator picked him to build an ark and save the animals. When he and his son come upon an animal that's been hunted he tells his son the hunters will eat it because "they forget, we get our strength from Our Creator." Russell Crowe & Jennifer Connelly did an excellent job, as did Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins. No, it doesn't follow the Bible verbatim. But I understand the director said as much.

Personally I don't understand choosing to do a movie about a Bible event and not following the Bible, but The Wizard of Oz does not follow the original book, either. How many movies really follow the books their based on?

Noah was a dark and at times disturbing movie but there was little violence, considering what they could've shown with it being the destruction of the world and all (save Noah's family and the animals aboard the Ark).

Kerry, Noah, the movie was a very Jewish movie. I believe you misunderstood me.

Sirk, I've written two Noah reviews in this thread. They're not rebuttals but they do illuminate why the movie has been so controversial and many Christians have misunderstood the intent and some have spread hersay (eg. Noah wasn't made to pervert the Bible).

Noah wasn't Jewish. Shocked neither was Abraham nor Issac nor Jacob.
This is true since Noah was a Sethite and Abraham and his progeny are Semites (descendants of Shem). However you could consider all of them Jewish since Judah was in their loins. Just some food for thought.

As for whether NOAH movie is Biblical, obviously its not. It's pseudo-biblical. Gotta understand the Bible isn't the only text that claims a Great Flood and Ark story. From my understanding after reading some reviews, Aronofsky pretty much tried to synergize all the Flood myths with his own creative twist in a vain attempt to keep everyone happy. Of course, when one tries to make everyone happy the result is no one is satisfied.

Still haven't seen this movie yet, lol, so I guess I cannot be too sure until I see it.

When reading the Old Testament with understanding we learn there were oral traditions from the tjme of Adam, and later that oral tradition continued until Moses. Reference is made to them in the Old Testament. No one was "Jewish" until the Kingdom of David split into Israel and Judah. Then, only Judah was called the Jews by virtue of the tribal name.

Fact, there was never a religion called "Jewish" until after Yeshua, Jesus. It had always been referenced as the faith, later refined to the faith of Abraham as mentioned by Jesus, Yeshua, that is by Salvation.

In reference to movies "about the Bible," is no one interested in the Bible, Itself? Reading books about the Bible and seeing movies about the Bible is not the Bible; read It, and believe It. Anything else is simply an attention getting device, a diversion from the real message.

are you joking me ??? you must of been watching a different movie then,, God saved noah and his family are you blind ? is that not merciful ? how dare say you say there was no mercy from god in that movie..How dare you say that man
and what about Noah at the end showing mercy to the infants,, ?? was that God inside noah or was that satan??.
you like many other people dont get the movie,, like i explain in post 152 already go back and read it man,, you might learn something,,I have give this movie some for thought and i think that maybe the directors was wanting to really drive the message home how important it was for Noah's ark to be saved. because Noah realized how important it was for his people to be saved.

I see that the watchers are still in existence because there is scripture that say children of gods guardians are always looking in the face of God.

So thats where i am with the watchers they took pity and disobeyed and crashed to earth to save us. from the fallen one.

at the beginning of the movie the watchers where being killed quite easily and then when flood started to rise there where not many watchers left so at this point i believe it was a bit of inspiration thinking from the directors to make you have hope that Noah s ark might be saved. Because i was fearing the worst after seeing the fallen angels easily wiped out at the beginning ) I thought there going to get battered please do your best to defend the ark, (the ark is also the ten commandments.) IN A SPIRITUAL SENSE)
and on this basis now i now see the directors intentions and i actually now applaud it. i see that the intentions where purely spiritual to make you have hope .

so that must mean that you have the book of genesis completely worked out then,, well no you do not,, like many other atheists in this world you and other people fail to see the spiritual meaning to the movie to make you understand how important it was for the people to be saved,, you people are so quick to condemn you make me feel sick, and then you claim to be christian..

the directors of this movie wanted you to have hope that noah would save his people now what does it matter that it was not quite right with the biblical translation,,

there are many tings in genesis that are not written that should not have been left out,, do you understand this.. you are acting like an atheist man,, the directors of this movie,, just wanted to give you hope that Noah would be saved and Noah would save his people,,, why did you even go and watch the movie just to come on here and put it down man,,you think you are a christian but christian don't mock there was plenty mercy shown in that movie man.. wake up man ...

now i know you have a lot of knowledge of the bible but that does not mean you have a lot of spiritual knowledge and judging from you post that is pretty evident to see..
Apology to you for your complete misunderstanding of what I saw from my view.
God is merciful and God's Mercy goes on forever, I never said that it did not or does not.
Maybe you need calm down and not walk in your flesh and accuse, and maybe ask God to see others points of views, yuor choice, love you regardless of any of your reactions that I never said
Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! praying you can see the forest through the trees. Everyone has a view, and are we not here to help each other, and not accuse?
You decide as I do apologize to have offended you as if I do not trust Father through Son, Father knows and I am settled and grounded in that knowing whoever belongs to Father; Father will cause them to Stand in his Mercy
So I make no judgment but to trust Father all in all through Son my propitiation for all sin
Thank you

Oh and God is the only one that has it all completely worked out, please willing to talk, but please stop the berating

New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[SUP][a][/SUP]
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. [SUP]24 [/SUP]As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[SUP][b][/SUP] was brought to him. [SUP]25 [/SUP]Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]“At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ [SUP]27 [/SUP]The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]“But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[SUP][c][/SUP] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]“His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
[SUP]30 [/SUP]“But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. [SUP]31 [/SUP]When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]“Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. [SUP]33 [/SUP]Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ [SUP]34 [/SUP]In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Thanks Brother lets hear and learn and trust God who lives in us by belief to teach us truth over error to be free from anger and do as led as Christ was led to do in Spirit and truth. Is that not why the Apostles had to wait for God. to come in them and speak through them. think it has changed this new life in Christ the way, the truth and the new life given by Father by the resurrected Christ?

you've got a lot to learn spiritually,, you think you have it all worked but i will remind you of this scripture

1 Corinthians 3:18
77You are God's Temple

17If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. 18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.

So I didn't read all of what you wrote here, and I hear more condemnation from you. you posted your apology before I got to it, which I did after you got on my case read it and liked and thanked

You apparently are presuming things before you post, you get a thought and blurp out comes condemnation, without discerning first
Only you know and this is not between you and me it is between Father and you,
Love you no matter what you decide as God's Mercy goes on forever, For Mercy I received Mercy I shall give
