People can react just by the tone of someone voice. The way words are said to someone can make them react in different ways to them. Words that are said in a negative way can make can make a person feel bad and bring them down. Words that are said in a postive way can make a person feel good and up left them. Jesus wants us to say kind words to each other, words that show kindness and love to each other.

Proverbs 15:1 15 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

It's better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife. - Proverbs 21:19 NLT

Lol but seriously you are right. Christian means Christ-like. We should be representing His name, through ourselves. Some people don't even know anything about Jesus, and you being in their lives might be the only Jesus they will ever see. It's very important how we conduct ourselves.

Amen! :) Kind words go a long way in brightening someone's day.

Something to keep in mind: "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man" (Colossians 4:6).

I was just reading proverbs recently. Lots of great scriptures in there.

2 Timothy 2:22-26: "....But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will."

When you look back at your life for what influenced you for good, it was never the mean hurtful words that led to good things, but the kind words.

There is a certain truth to that. It is very kind that God, through Christ, kills the carnal man/woman so we can be in His company.

True..............and there is truth in that old adage............

[h=1]Proverbs
15[/h]
1 .) A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 .) The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 .) The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 .) A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Yup your right p_rehbein I think also though that when you have answerd softly to an angry person and he still angry, then what, perhaps a sense of humour ? Or some authority Out of kindness, like the lord sayeth don't stay angry all day, but you know some folk get so angry they get steam coming out there head, then I would say let it out brother I hear yer lol

Most anger between professing Christians is not of the humorous type if it's doctrinal issues.:)

Ephesians 4:25-27 (KJV)
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Neither give place to the devil.

Romans 12:12) Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 .) Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 .) Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 .) Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 .) Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 .) Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 .) If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 .) Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 .) Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 .) Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Which is saying..............kill 'em with kindness yes? :)
