A Question

So, my friend is struggling with this BIG sin he has hanging over his head. He hates it, doesn't want anything to do with it, and has been struggling almost all of his life to get away from it. He has prayed for it, talked with people about it, fought with it, read in the Bible about it, etc. However this problem has yet to go away. Sure, for a week, at max, it might be suppressed, and he gives God the glory for it each and every time, but it always comes back. Always. I know the story of the cast out demons that come back even more powerful, but that just leads to more questions. He really needs help with this, and i probably won't get to see him in two weeks until never again, so if anyone has an answer for this (not a possibility, we have thousands already) we would be grateful.

Hi Saint; the information you gave is a little vague, so i'll probably post more than what is needed.

Do i know? well not really, but what i can do is relay to you what i understand from sincere effort in studying Gods Word.

Sin; first everyone on here seems to lump all sins into one basket, to me this is not right as were ALL sinners in the flesh, and i do beleive God said some are going to make the first cut.

Your pretty studied yourself, so i pray this will at least make some kind of sense to you.

You know that the so-called unforgiveable sin is to deny the Holy Spirit; But this is After you understand Gods Commandments, and that to deny Our Father is even more unforgiveable than the Holy Spirit denial. (thats why i reffered to it as so-called)

Then there are 3 of the 10 Commandments that are not about the above mentioned.

Thou Shalt Not Murder (rape) Lie or steal.

Ask yourself; do you think rape and murder fall into the same class of sin as lieing and stealing??

To me, where the religious church organizations fall apart, is in casting stones at people saying; If you do this or that (minor sins) then you may go to hell.

This is False teaching and quite frankly nobodies business, as its between God and the sinner. If the churchs would stick to their duty and lead people into studying Gods Word; Gods Word itself will do the conviction and correction that may be needed.

Personally i've smoked since i was 9, Do you honestly beleive that this has me hellbound? then theres all the sinning that i did through my mouth for 30 some odd years, (in ignorance)

God DID NOT withold His Truth from me for either reason; and i still smoke, But its my mouth that has actually been healing; as one of satans favourite lies is; sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me, BULL, they ultimatley kill a persons spirit.

So if your buddy is dealing with minor sins, encourage him to wash himself daily in The Lords Prayer and Que Serra Serra.

Myself, i would love to quit smoking, But I REFUSE to, because i like to tick-off stone casters.

sometimes LOCKUP (rehab) can provide what we need: no access to whatever the thing is, and accountability and protection under caring people.

The Lord is with us in treatment centers and rehabs, too.

It sounds like your friend is not denying he has a problem, that's GOOD.
rallying the troops and not going it alone might be needed.
There are lots of people in places to help: everybody needs a little time away sometimes.

I remember after the sunday evening service when I was a teenager sitting on the wall outside the church smokinmg a cigarette. The looks I got from the church folk left me believing smoking on its own would send me to hell! Funny thing was the more of those looks I got the more I wanted to smoke.

Sometimes they would come and tell me I should stop smoking and give me relevant scripture to back up what they were saying, but that was the only time they did speak to me as I was on a different social level to most of them.

You know, I could tell by the way someone looked and dressed when they entered the church for the first time if they would stay for long.

Anyway I found out a few years later that God's priorities were not the same as many of the people in that church, good job too or I would not be a Christian now.

Does he read the Word DAILY? WORSHIP Daily?? Is the same sin and 'family' issue? He might need generational curses broken off of him. My question to you is "WHY has he not sought the council of a born again, spirit-filled minister???

He NEEDS deliverance; needs to DIE to self; and needs to CHOOSE whom he is going to serve.

I take no offence. I know you said it out of kindness and without a judgemental attitude. I would just say, never think you are not as an effective a witness as anyone else is for Christ, I think your attitude would endear more to Christianity than would many who may know the Bible inside out

I agree with some of what you say, and i disagree with other parts. Even the most minor sins can corrupt a person. Look at Scripture, and you will see that whoever is guilty of one sin is guilty of every sin. However, that is not the point of this thread, so I will move on. However, if you would like to talk to more about the subject, feel free to message me. Anyways, his sin is not minor in the sense of small lies or stealing a little candy bar every now and then. It is a very encompassing entity that he cannot for whatever reason escape.

Thank you for the advise, however, and I will consider more on what you said.

Thank you, however the problem he has is not something that can be necessarily be treated with rehab. And in addition, his parents would look at him with disgust if they found out.

OK. you don't have to tell your friend's name, but it would help if you mention the sin.

Hello WordGaurdian, I do not think that giving the sin would be wise. I know that some people would be able to look past the sin, but others would just see that "word" and target only on that one thing and nothing else. Just assume that it is not a physical sin like lying and physical murder, or any other obvious sin that is action oriented.

Actually, he read the Word daily for years, did daily worship, and the sin definitely does not run through the family. And, he has sought council from others.

When a person sticks that cigarette butt in his mouth he starts sucking smoke into his lungs and introduces over (200) poisonous carcinogens into his blood stream that are carried to every cell in his body. The more he smokes the more of theses carcinogens enter the blood stream. The life of the flesh is in the blood and when you put poisonous toxins into the blood stream you are damaging the cells of your body and effect the life of your flesh. I don't call that being very intelligent do you? Any person that smokes tobacco in any form and put these carcinogens in his bloodstream and knowing the risks it poises to the flesh of the human body, is not a wise person.

We are told in the scriptures to preserve our spirit, soul and body unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1Thes 5:23). Is a person preserving their body unto the coming of Christ by smoking and putting poison in his body that is known to cause many forms of cancer that can cut the life expectancy of the human body, that would include the soul and the spirit upon death? Do you think it a wise decision to potentially put yourself on a respirator because you were diagnosed with throat or lung cancer that would inevitable take your life?

Let me cast this stone of advice to you before you continue in your ignorance and have to pay a dear price for it. STOP SMOKING. It is a carnal practice and should be put away. It can cause others to stumble, so you should put it away. It is the right thing to do, the healthy thing to do, the spiritual thing to do and the will of God so that you can preserve your body with your soul and spirit unto the coming of the Lord. I am being kind and gracious and merciful when I say that to you.

Hi Saint; sometimes we get so overwhelmed with things, that we forget the basics sometimes. So heres a couple of simple tweaks, as it could be as simple as not following a basic instruction.

Many people on here even claim to be praying to Jesus I Don't even know some days if its me or them, as when you continually read over mis-guided information, it can almost start you to question youself; thats when its time to re-charge in prayer.

From my studies, i understand that Christ is available to everybody 24/7/365 and not just at 420, but every second of the day.

You know, most people at one time or another get caught talking out loud to themselves, and will get ribbed about it, then mabey even feel embarrased about it. And what was it they were actually doing; they were having deep inner thoughts, and who is it thats listening to our deep inner thoughts? Christ and satan.(if satans present) as Christ always is.

But don't forget either whos NOT listening, Our Father, Is Christ where our Help lies in; NO! Christ is where our faith, hope and beleif is; that Christ the One & Only Mediator (Our Lawyer) to Our Father, will plead our case before Him IF you need help.
Our Father is the Judge, and The Judge is where the help is, as His Word is Final.

Christ left us instructions in how to enter into The Holy of Holeis (courtroom for righteous judgement) and i'm sick of pointing them out with no response that i'm not going over this part again; as i assume everyone either knows, or just don't care, or can't see past Jesus to Our Father, i dunno

So assuming you know the above instructions; heres the thing that i really wanted to convey to you; If your prayer request for Help is correctly adressed to Our Father through Christ, it could be for a couple reasons rejected, 1st if its about you, as this is Not what the courtroom is being used for currently, we know through prophesy that thats yet to come.

It could be that you never were in there before and He may want some love and respect from you that you actually realize who it is that your adressing and understand His situation, and that for now, He wants to here from you, concerning His other children, and Not you, because IF you know Him, you don't need any help, as this is all He really wants anyways, for US to introduce Him to His other children that still don't know, so that they also know who He is and how to approach Him in and through Jesus The Christ.

Or it could be your asking for the wrong help, If your asking The Father to remove an affliction from you, well if your a practising christian, you should know, that ain't gonna happen, (sorry about the choice of grammer)

Christ didn't promise us a rose garden Yet; if your serving Christ, then most likely your being afflicted and persecuted on a fairly regular basis; and this is what a christian should be praying for, IF they need help, as its been shown over and over in Gods Word, through His Chosen.

Father, in and through the name of Your Son, Jesus The Christ, the annointed One of YHVH, The Son in whom YHVH is well pleased; Our Lord of Lords, King of Kings and each and EVERYONE'S personal Saviour's Precious name; Yashua Messiah, Father, grant me please; The Strength, Courage, Wisdom, Paitence and Endurance to OVERCOME this persecution or affliction.

If you say your a christian and you have a comforatable and cozy life, Yet were to say, you have never been persecuted or afflicted much since you found Jesus, because Jesus protects you from that; i'd call that person a fake (as politely as possible of course) as this isn't going to get any better, only worse until Christ returns, and we all need help against death (satan) Christ did too.

Hope this may be more along the lines of what your searching for.

HOW does one get deliverance? Any Christian that is in right standing with God has the authority to cast out demons. If the person is willing, have him confess his sin to you and to the Lord OUT LOUD and ask for forgiveness. BREAK all curses that could be present in his life concerning this sin; word curses (spoken by others or by himself), curses of witchcraft, lust, rebellion, fear, PRIDE and anything that Holy Spirit tells you that is generational or otherwise, in the name of Jesus and then tell all spirits attached to the curses to leave in Jesus' name. Tell the 'demon that makes him want to _____' to leave in Jesus name. Be persistant!
Instruct him that the demon WILL try to come back and as his own personal weapon, everytime he even THINKS about doing the deed to begin to worship God in word, song and tongues. EVERYTIME.

Demons don't hang around when a person purposes to always worship the Lord when tempted to sin.

If you are unsure about doing this, seek out a Bible believing and DOing church, pentecostal, spirit-filled (as believingin the baptism of the Holy Spirit) to do the deliverance. Counseling beforehand might be wise.
