I'm happy to announce that I listened to a lady preach at my church this morning and she did a mighty fine job too! Sorry haters - not lol :p

What did you learn then? Still calling those who do not agree with you "haters". I see this demeaning spirit in you in just about every post you have made here. Contributing nothing to the thread as such more than contention.

Take it how you want to - I'm really not that bothered. I was simply explaining it was a cheeky post. I don't much like your attitude either so it kind of makes us even. You didn't have to reply - it wasn't referring to you in particular.

Yes, you're not bothered at all that you contributed nothing to the thread but demeaning those who happen not to agree with you because you are very intolerant. And you obviously lack any shame or decency.

Actually, I never use Strong's. I use Brown Driver Brigs for Hebrew and Wilbur, Arndt, and Gingrich for Greek.

For this post, I did not consult a dictionary. If Strong agrees with me I'm delighted.

The definition is exactly the sane for deaconess as for deacon.

You understand that I directed that question to Phil and not you, right?

So, a deacon is the same as a deaconess you say.

And a deacon is the same as a disciple in Acts?

pastor ποίμεν means shepherd He who is charged with the spiritual safety and well-being of a church

deacon διάκονος means servant one who concerns him/her self with another's spiritual or material needs

perhaps now you can see the difference. There are many really sharp people on the forum. They would be all over me if it were true that Your definition still says a pastor is technically a deacon or a deaconess.

Me too.

I was tempted to rebuke her after the service, based upon what is being said on this thread by some, and tell her she must repent and turn away from her sin.

That is what some of you posting on this thread believe she must do, right?

I replied to the post in which you asked which roles are appropriate for women and I expected you to remember your own question long enough to recognize the answer.

You need to pay a little more attention to what is being said.

It was not me who say a pastor is technically a deacon or a deaconess.

It was phil112 who posted that in a quote from Strongs.

Based on that, the first sentence of your post I quoted should read that a pastor is "He or SHE who is charged with the spiritual safety and well-being of a church."

Right?

Of course, a female parrot that quotes scripture would be engaging in sinful behavior that must be repented, even if the female parrot got the scripture from a man.
