While we don't know what the Abomination of Desolation will be, we do know what it triggers and that is the "Great Tribulation" of Israel. Many think this happened back in AD 70 but there was nothing set up in the Temple as the Temple was destroyed. In fact, nothing tells us the A of D is set up in any Temple, just "the holy place", but which holy place is unknown. There are many holy places.

It is clear, this "Abomination" is set up by the invading Muslim forces from the north and this is the trigger of the desolation of Israel by fleeing and slaughter. Consider the below. The location of the Tribulation is clearly Israel, not the whole world as many think. The whole world isn't told to flee, just those in Judea.

Mat 24: [SUP]15 [/SUP]“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), [SUP]16 [/SUP]“then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. [SUP]21 [/SUP]For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Daniel says this in regards to the invading Islamic King from the North:

Dan 11: [SUP]31 [/SUP]And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. [SUP]33 [/SUP]And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.

So we see from the above and as compared to many OT passages such as Ezek 38-39, Zec 13, Joel 1, etc, Israel will come under attack. Once the A of D is placed, those in Judea are to flee, run for their lives as it were. Why? It's obvious, they are attacked by overwhelming Muslim forces set out to wipe them off the map. 2/3 of Israelis will be killed. This is why the "desolation" because Israel will become desolate from death and fleeing.

Fortunately, God cuts those Tribulation days of the Muslim invaders inspired by Satan short, otherwise no flesh would be saved. These days are cut short specifically for the ELECT of Israel.

Mat 24: [SUP]22 [/SUP]And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

Now it makes sense why the Lord must again gather the ELECT back to Him when He returns, because they were scattered by the Great Tribulation.

Mat 24: [SUP]31 [/SUP]And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The ELECT are gathered from whence they were scattered and are now seen with Jesus upon His return:

Rev 14: Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.

satan is a counterfieter; and Adam is the most famous of Yahweh's creations. A good guess; is that the "abomination of desolation"; will be a counterfiet of Adam.

In AD70 the Christians were the only people who escaped the siege because they took notice of Jesus' words in Matthew 24.
The temple including the holy place of was violated by Roman Troops. The Holy Place was where the High Priest enters once a year.
Only the High Priest could enter, so anyone else other than him would be an abomination. it is certainly the Holy of Holies
Antiochus Epiphanies set up an abomination there in the form of a statue of Zeus and sacrificed Pigs on the alter. Hanukkah referred to as the Feast of Dedication in Johns Gospel commemorates the rededication of the Temple by Maccabeus who led a revolt against him.

The abomination, is the false Adam, or false Jesus, if you like, otherwise known as the anti-Christ. He will set himself up in the rebuilt temple, and will proclaim himself god. From there the Jews will revolt, and a number that cannot be counted will come unto Jesus as their Lord.

The desolation will be the absence of Jews in Israel.

There is speculation that a swine will be sacrificed as that is an abomination, but God created swine, and nothing He created can be an abomination. The anti-Christ will not be God's creation, God's creation will have already have died, and been resurrected by Lucifer, i think this shows about the extent of Lucifer's power, in that he cannot create life, but has enough power to re-animate at least some of it, perhaps this is where demons come from, but that will be something i will learn when i get to Heaven, and by then, i probably wont care.

Just more propaganda with this thread.

We DO know what "abomination of desolation" from Scripture is. It's about an idol in a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, something today's Jews are trying to hide that's to happen at the end in the Jerusalem according to the prophecies for the end by our Lord Jesus and His Apostles. I don't why false one keep trying to hide the matter when it's pretty easy to know per God's Holy Writ.

New information. The Abomination of Desolation will be set up at the Wailing Wall. Daniel calls it, "the sanctuary fortress." The sanctuary was of course the temple. The fortress was the wall that went around the temple protecting the temple. The only part of the temple complex to not be destroyed by Titus in 70 AD was a little piece of the wall, known as the "Western Wall" or "Wailing Wall." It is the most holiest of sites in Jerusalem today and is also the place where Jews go to pray daily.

According to Daniel 11, the wall is first desecrated which causes the Jews to stop their prayers. Then, according to Dan 12 1,290 days later, the Abomination is set up there which triggers the Great Tribulation of Israel. 45 days later (or less) Jesus returns.

The abomination of desolation is when the man of sin steps in to the Jews temple, and claims to be God and the Messiah, and tells the Jews to stop animal sacrifices.

Then the man of sin makes war against all who do not take the mark of the beast.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Dan 8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

This has not happened yet,and in the future the Jews will go back to animal sacrifices.

I agree. the earthly temple will be rebuilt and the animal sacrifices for guilt and sin will be reinstated.

according to Jesus, and other eye witness, not one stone stood.
the temple and all buildings where destroyed.

"Wailing Wall." is not part of the temple, but an old roman structure

According to Jesus this is written according to the prophecy of Daniel for the time of the end, (matthew 24:15) and according to 2Thesselonians 2 there will be the man of sin who will set himself up in the temple claiming himself to be god...

“And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that
maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days” (Daniel 12:11).

first The word “sacrifice” is in italics in the King James Version of the Bible.
That means the translators added it.

The only word that Daniel used is daily. That word is used about 100 times in the Old Testament.
And 80 percent of the time it is translated continual or continually. It is translated always about 5
percent of the time. The Cambridge Bible reads, “the continual shall be taken away.”

Our focus needs to be on the daily, or continual—not on a word (sacrifice)
that is not even in the original Hebrew text.

Strong’s Concordance and Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon define the Hebrew word for daily
as perpetual. Webster’s Dictionary defines perpetual as “continuing forever, everlasting, valid for all time.”

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church;
and the gates of [the grave] shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

The work of God’s Church is the continual, it has been going on for a long time.

the bible also says we, our bodies are his temple now.

According to Jesus this is written according to the prophecy of Daniel for the time of the end, (matthew 24:15) and according to 2Thesselonians 2 there will be the man of sin who will set himself up in the temple claiming himself to be god...
The physical abomination of desolation will appear in Jerusalem
at the beginning of the Tribulation, just as the Church has always taught.

But let’s remember, there is also a spiritual abomination of desolation
that has already been set up within God’s Church in this end time.

The Antiochus spoken of by Daniel has a physical and a spiritual end-time fulfillment.

“And out of one of them came forth a little horn [Antiochus], which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them” (Daniel 8:9-10).

The Revised Standard Version reads, “of the host of the stars”; in other words, it’s talking about those people the angels of God are to protect, if they remain obedient to God. The spiritual Antiochus has cast some of God’s saints into very dangerous spiritual territory.

Please explain how you can separate the physical from discerning the spiritual
with regards to any type of ABOMINATION period
first how about the (Daniel 8:9-10) verses mentioned? did you read my notes?
have you not heard about the spiritual world around us?
or have you seen the devil dressed as a lion eating people in public?

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the
prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The demons, “rulers of the darkness,” fight and wrestle for men’s minds—
especially the minds of God’s own people! (Ephesians 6:12).

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

so how did or can the physical become spiritual now?

-well in the old they had A physical temple-now we are the temple of God.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

-in the old they had physical sacrifices - now we are a living sacrifice

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

-in the old they had physical circumcision- now its A spiritual circumcision

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit,
and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

any type of ABOMINATION?

1 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy;
for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Oh I do.
Yet do those who claim to be of HIS SPIRIT?

thus it is very relevant because it is very easy to claim oneself to be of HIS SPIRIT when things are all peachy keen

But when darkness comes that's when those who knew of whose SPIRIT they truly were of will be made manifest from those who simply did lip service to THE NAME but did not know their GOD
