I have stated before in a similar thread in the ladies forum, I dont have scripture for ya, cause I think it is murder. However, if its a emergency situation, as in, a mothers life is in danger or the childs life is in danger and say a spouce or parent has to make the decision of one or the other, well, I quite dont know what to say, I do think with all my heart and soul if someone willingly ends the life of a unborn baby, deliberately, simply because they dont want it, with out exploring other options if they cant care for it, then its murder. Thou shall not kill, Gods words not mine, and I dont care what others opinions are about its not a living human till its born, blah blah blah, it feels, it moves, its a person as soon as its conceived in my book. Good luck with your thread, God bless you.

I say let God's will be done, not mine. Though medical science can now save a mother who would have in the past otherwise died, is that the right thing to do? Is that will of God? I don't know. For thousands of years, countless mothers have died giving birth to infants. Because now, in some cases, we have the technology to sustain them if the child within is murdered, is that what should be done? I am struggling with this, but I believe that if God wants the mother to live, she will.

I believe abortion is wrong and would tell people not to do it, but at the same time if I meet a young woman who had it done I would tell her the same thing I would to any unsaved sinner who I spoke to. I would pray that God awaken their hearts to His word, convict them of their sin and bring about repentance and saving grace and show them various scripture verses that show God's plan of salvation or whatever else is needed that they are led to Christ. Whatever the sin, any and all sin makes us unworthy and only Christ's blood can cleanse us only the Holy Spirit can truly teach, guide and keep us from disobeying God.

THIS is why I like you.

It is one thing to condemn the sin, but it is even better to direct the sinner to the right path.

Agreed.

You first tell them that they are sick and dying (their sin,) then you offer them the cure (Jesus Christ.)

Verses that prove the unborn have a soul!

Psalms 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

Jerimiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Psalm 22:9-10: "But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.

Psalm 139:13-16: "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them"

Isaiah 44:2: "Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: ‘ Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen"

Jeremiah 1:4-5: "Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Exodus 20:13: "You shall not murder"

Genesis 2:7: "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being"

So, yes - abortion is a sin.

So let's say a wife and a mother of two is pregnant with a third child. Due to complications having this child could kill her. What do you do? Do you let the mother die, thus robbing now 3 children of a mother and a husband of his wife? Or do you get an abortion? Personally Im on the abortion side in cases where the mothers life is at risk. If the woman gets pregnant because she just likes sleeping around...tough cookies. They make protection for a reason.

Leave it in God's hands. Let the husband raise the children. The mother has lived her life and had a chance to give her life for Christ, let her third child have a chance to do the same.

Abortion is murder whatever spin we put on it, still murder. When I was young and lost a girl I was with fell pregnant, she said you decide, there was nothing for me to decide, my eldest daughter Jasmine is 23 now, i thank God daily for the choice I made, i deemed it murder then as I do know.

Wow. I dont know what to say. I understand the unborn have the right to life, but since the mother died her widower now had 4 children to raise on his own. Lets not even get into the psychological impact of losing a parent.

While the scenerio that Megatron stated is a very RARE thing it could still happen.

I guess the best way to look at it is leave it up to God for guidance. While killing the unborn is obviously immoral and sinful, Willingly leaving children without their mother is a hard thing for any child to deal with.

Its best not to judge such a situation until you are in it and pray you never have to

We can't trust our feelings; We are to trust the word of God.

It says "Thou shalt not murder."

We shouldn't do evil so that good may result.

Romans 3:8 "And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just."

Since we are on the topic of murder do you believe suicide is a sin?

Suicide: The action of killing oneself intentionally.

Killing/Murdering is a sin.

Those who commit suicide are under heavy demonic attack, but ultimately the choice is there own. I am not trying to sound cold when I say this. I knew someone that took his own life; Suicide is a tragedy. Ultimately, God is his (and everyone's) judge, but the bible tells us not to murder. If we kill ourselves, we are committing murder.

Now, I am going to give you a scenario-

Say, someone took a lot of pills and knew they were going to die because of their actions...

Now, before they kicked in, they were truly sorry and repentant of what they did and they cried out to God begging for mercy and forgiveness. They confessed that what they did was wrong and that God is right and that they shouldn't have overdosed in an effort to kill themselves. I think it is possible that they can be forgiven, but like I said before, only God knows.

First, I agree with Anandahya in not judging, but bringing the love and truth in Jesus.
As to the mother dying as an arguement, most women will natrally abort, and the majority of pregnacies that reach the point that threatens the mothers life, can be resolved by simply delivering the baby, and as a dr spoke to, letting God decide.
I know a young woman, whos mother started bleeding in the forth month, not survivable by todays standards for the baby.
They delivered the baby, in order to save the mother.
As the drs were working to save the mother, a nurse noticed the baby, who was simply set aside in a basin, was still alive.
Drs instructed the nurse to take the baby to nicu, not expecting the child to survive.
Amazingly this baby did survive, and grew.
Her mother also survived as well.
I met them when the girl was 12 yrs old, that was 28 yrs ago.
I thought they were simply exagerating the story, untill I was shown the photos of this tiny life as she fought for life.
She held the record for surviving at this university hospital untill a few years ago.
One could debate this for hours as to what is or isnt.
But the truth is in the heart of the believer, and the one that does not know Jesus we are not to judge.
We are called to witness to the love and salvation in Jesus , so that the person will come to the truth in Jesus, desireing all that is the will of God Our Father through obedience.
In the eyes of a believer in Jesus, yes abortion is seen as murder.
In the eyes of the unbeliever, not yet seen, as thier eyes are still unable to see.
Wether the unbeliever has an abortion for survival, or for convenience, to say one is better or not is still judgement.
We witness, in the hope that all will recieve Jesus, then see.

in Jesus, God bless.

Yeah im sure god would forgive.....BUT in the example of choosing between the life of the mother or the unborn....if the mother willingly allows herself to die isnt that kind of like suicide?

I mean what megatron was pretty much saying is ...WHO WILL YOU KILL? YOURSELF? OR YOUR BABY?

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

A mother laying her life down for her child is love, not suicide. No matter what the doctors say, she is not going to die unless it is God's perfect will.
